Hard to read dial

This is a perfectly functional 'nome with a nice woody tone.  It's loud and has no volume switch, but I just stick it in my pocket (and it's still very audible).  To me the real problem with this unit is that it's really hard to read the dial.  I ended up marking some of the key tempos (e.g. 120 bpm).

Sensitive Ears Beware!

As a semi-professional bassist and ameteur drummer, I was interested in beefing up my percussion skills, so I purchased a practice pad and the Sabine Zipbeat 6000 about 2 years ago. I go to great lengths to protect my hearing and have periodic hearing evaluations as required by my primary profession as a firefighter. The results always show me having less than 5% loss, better than 90% of the guys I work with, which brings me to my point concerning this metronome. Every time I turned it on, I found the clicks to be offensively loud, to the point that it hurt my ears. So I took it to the station and sat it next to a sleeping co-worker. He woke up irritated but nothing more. The volume didn't hurt his already damaged ears. I, of course, tried it on a few more sleepy, semi-deaf, firefighters with the same results. Only one other found the clicking painful. His ears were in good shape as well. So the bottom line is this, this unit is LOUD. There is no volume controll. Sensitive ears beware.

I got this metronome when I began drumming, and for that, it has served me well.  For a basic metronome this is a very good buy.  However, the included headphone is "ok" quality.  It would also be nice to have a volume control. Overall, not too bad.  But if you're looking for more advanced features, obviously not the way to go.

only complaint is lack of volume control

This metronome is easy to use and pretty cheap.  The only complaint I have is for the lack of volume control.  I have a pair of vic firth isolation headphones and it gives me a headache whenever I plug the metronome into them.  This is due to the lack of volume control and the fact that the sound is mono coming out of the left side.  Still a great product though.
