    Love this pickup!

Comments about Seymour Duncan Duckbucker Pickup:

My BRIDGE pup recently died ('89 Am Standard, rosewood board). Thought I'd try to replace w/ something quieter.Q: Does this humbucker really deliver classic Strat tone (clean Hendrix, Ronnie Earl, Knopfler, '70's Clapton, nice blues, etc)like a sweet single coil without the buzz?A: Yes. No doubt. Rest assured.Alone & w/ middle pickup. Looks better than I thought it would, too. Open sound, not compressed. Bright, but round mids & bass. Balanced. A suitable replacement (w/ similar output & less noise) for standard Strat bridge pickup. (I adjusted the pole pieces to taste.)

    Very pleasing

Comments about Seymour Duncan Duckbucker Pickup:

I have a custom Warmoth Strat. This pickup works best with brighter fretboard woods like ebony. I had originally installed Fender Noiseless in my axe, which does have an ebony board and stainless frets. The Noiseless were way too bright. The Duckbuckers balanced the setup perfectly. Although I agree they are a little lower in output than the Pearly Gates that I have them paired with. That's actually kind of what I was going for though.

    SRV to Malmstein

Comments about Seymour Duncan Duckbucker Pickup:

In Parellel the sound is (with a 6l6power tube amp) "SRV" quack at its finest! I,ve never heard anything closer. Wired in Series the sound has much more bass response and reminds me alot of the 1st "Rising Forse" albumThe only downside is the price of ALL the replacement pickups- its just absurd to pay this much when you can buy a whole guitar for 50 bucks more...Anyway I recomend you wire it to a DPDT switch for versatility.

    Disappointed!

Comments about Seymour Duncan Duckbucker Pickup:

I have had this Duckbucker in my American strat for about 3 years and I am disappointed in it!I do not like how it produces such a dull high end! The only thing that I like is that it sounds great distorted heavily. This is a plus! But, if you are going for a strat sound pick another pickup!

    Good single coil tone

Comments about Seymour Duncan Duckbucker Pickup:

Good pickup for the neck or mid position of a strat or tele. If you want a slightly hotter sound I would rather go for a Texas Special, Lace Sensor Blue or even a SD Cool Rails.

Comments about Seymour Duncan Duckbucker Pickup:

It mixes well with other seymour humbuckers. I have the duckbucker in the middle with a '59 and a screamin' demon. I can get a very overdriven tube amp sound in 2nd position with a boss blues driver.

If you want to ruin your Strat....

    By Ringtail

    from Torrington, CT

Comments about Seymour Duncan Duckbucker Pickup:

Just awful. The sound has nothing to do with anything ever made by Fender. No quack at all. The sound is open and hollow, sort of like a JB. It's very sensitive to distance from the strings, it needs to be close, but that just makes it louder, not better. I can't wait to rip it out and install the DiMarzio Area '58 I ordered.

    It brings the funk

    By tonepoet

Comments about Seymour Duncan Duckbucker Pickup:

I play a lot of different styles and need a very versatile guitar. I play a Parker P-38 and the stock pickups sucked (my first guitar with a humbucker). I changed out the PU's to a JB in the bridge, a JB Jr. in the neck and this in the middle. It has the greatest, funkiest sound and cuts through the mix without having 'icepick' highs. Nice, mellow spank. I highly recommend this noiseless pickup!
