I put a set of these in an Epiphone 56 Reissue Goldtop. I love the guitar and the stock pickups sounded great... but they hummed real bad and had midrange microphonic feedback problems at gigs. So I bought these Seymour Duncan STK-P1 P90s and they not only solved the problem COMPLETELY, they sound great too!! They're not quite as warm as the stock Epiphone P90s, but it's easy to adjust your amp to make up for the difference. The STK-P1s have a nice P90 type sound to 'em. They have great mids!! Also they have a real nice pristine high end shimmer to 'em that I just LOVE!! So I can get that phat P90 sound with excellent clarity. I did have to get the guitar routed out because the STK-P1s are taller than standard P90s. So that was a pain. But now that it's all said and done, I'm extremely happy with these pickups!! Great P90 sound with no noise or feedback problems! EXCELLENT!!

Be aware this pickup is MUCH taller than a stock P90. I expected it to be somewhat taller but had no idea just how tall it is. It's essentially 2 P90s stacked together, in addition the screws and wires stick out substantially below the base. No way it would fit in the bridge position of my Gibson SG. I'll be sticking with the DiMarzio twin coil models.

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-P1 Stacked P-90 Single-Coil Pickup:

I love these pickups but the one thing the description doesn't tell you is that P-90 Stacks are taller than traditional P-90s. While that won't make a difference in most cases, I had to have my guitar guru rout out a little bit of wood to install them in my SG. No biggy, just thought you should know. They sound GREAT!

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-P1 Stacked P-90 Single-Coil Pickup:

I just recently placed one of these bad boys in my ESP LTD EC-401VF in the bridge position along with a Seymour Duncan 59' in the neck. Not only does it sound killer, you can play ANYTHING from Punk to Country with this P-90. it is also less noisy then other buzzy P-90's

I'm adding this third STK-P1 to my custom Jazzmaster. It will be wired through a 5-way Super Switch so I can get all the best Strat and Tele tones available. It gives my Fender more Gender.

Comments about Seymour Duncan STK-P1 Stacked P-90 Single-Coil Pickup:

Fell in love with P90s recently. so I bought a used LP Special (two HB). Loved the tones, hated the noise. I play big venues with big PAs, so I was afraid of noise and also afraid of unpotted squeal. So first I tried the Kent Armstrong noiseless - neck was okay but did not sustain like the stock pup, the bridge was weak. Then I tried TVJones T90s and added copper tape shielding in pup cavities - played the Boulder Theater and when the stage lights came on, both the rest of the band and the sound guy wanted to kill me. BTW, the T90 Bridge ROCKS (definitely the P90 growl in spades, this would be great in a LP Jr) and the T90 Neck really brings out the tone of the guitar with tons of sustain - but with P90 NOISE!!! If you can handle the noise, these are very good pups.
So I decided to try noiseless again with the SD Stacked P90 neck and bridge. I added push/pull pots for the series/parallel option - good choice. In parallel (P90ish tones) they do sound "like" P90s, and the neck sustains like a P90 – also both pups have decent P90 growl. In series they are good HBs, like a slightly overwound standard size alnico II HB. In series they do not sound anemic like the old mini-HBs that were in the P90 form factor - these ROCK.
I have not gigged with these yet, but at home watching both a Plasma TV and my laptop monitor on, no noise. The tones are good - are they exactly like a P90, well no. But they are fairly close and produce very usable tones. My current tone preference is the Neck in parallel, and the Bridge in Series – but that makes the Bridge a lot louder than the neck. BTW, when both in parallel or both in serial, the Bridge is appropriately louder than the Neck.
Not 5 stars because noiseless still is not exactly like P90 - but these are close enough.
Also, I had to dremel out the pup cavity corners to get these installed. No biggie for me...
