Features:

It's basic, which was what I was looking for. The foam that clings to the soundhole is great! I was worried it would get torn apart with how much I planned to take it in and out, but it's holding up great.

Quality:

It has a nice balance. I usually keep the low end closer to the strings, it sounds perfect. It's about as close to the natural sound as you could get. It's a bit quiet for me though, I have to turn up the volume all the way up to really hear it, but that could very well be the huge space I practice in.

Value:

I don't know what a good price for this would be, I didn't look around much. I knew I wanted seymore duncan, and kinda stopped here. I'm satisfied with what I got compared to what I payed for it though.

Overall:

The only thing that really bugs me is that it's kind of in the way of strumming, but it is only a preference thing. With finger picking though, it sounds perfect, every note clear. Strumming sounds very natural as well, just harder for me to do comfortably.

Seymour Duncan HC Hum-Canceling Pickup

| Review By: Anthony Brown | 4 months, 2 weeks ago

1 people out of 1 found this review helpful

Features:

The wood grain matches well with my guitar, and is pleasantly understated and less noticiable when playing. The 14' cord is plenty long enough. The foam holds up nicely after repeated use.

Quality:

This pickup is solid, and provides no hum as promised.  Even with the pickup set in the soundhole as instructed to reduce the top end, I still had to boost the low end and cut the top end when used in my Martin D Custom Mahogany to get a balanced sound, which I did not expect to be a problem.

Value:

For the price, it's a good buy. This pickup performs as expected. No noise when recording, but is a bit light on the bottom end, and a bit strong on the top end for my taste. Simple EQ adjustments can balance the sound nicely though.

Overall:

I have used this pickup for a few months in my home studio and am pleased with its overall performance. As mentioned previously, EQ adjustments are in order to dial in a balanced sound. Once the adjustments are made however, this pickup performs very well for my Martin D custom Mohogany. It picks up all the strings well, and the sound is clean and natural. A good buy for the price.

Received my Woody hum cancelling stack today.I was not expecting such rapid delivery but am glad to have it for this weekend. I immediately installed the woody in the sound hole of my vintage "hummingbird" that I use in Church every Sunday. The flourescent lights would always produce an annoying hum in the p/a system but thats history now.The sounf is great and I will be shopping for other products in the future.
