Decent alternative to using a mic

Comments about Shadow 5 String Banjo Bridge w/Piezo Pickup:

asfdasdf.
The features all sound great in theory. It won't let me type in any of the other boxes, so I'll just say my peace here. It's not a bad pickup. It sounds decent enough to play in simple settings. The 1/4" to 1/8" cable that you HAVE to use for the volume/tone knobs are a pain. It's a very thin cable that I'm afraid will break if we tour too extensively. The tone/volume knob is made out of a simple plastic. it's not very sturdy either. The bridge is okay. It's a little higher than the one I already used.
Overall, if you're on a tight budget and/or just hate using mics, then get it. I had to buy an LR Baggs Acoustic DI box for it to help control the tone and the gain better. the little knob they include doesn't really do too much for you.
I'm actually on the site now to purchase a new banjo and I am not ordering this pickup for the new banjo. I will be looking for other alternatives. However, I will keep it on what will now be my "backup" banjo.

Not Bad

Comments about Shadow 5 String Banjo Bridge w/Piezo Pickup:

It does what it says. It's a decent alternative to spending hundreds on a new electric banjo. The only problem I had was that it was way higher action than my old bridge and I broke 2 strings right after putting it on. After filing away part of the black part on the top it worked fine.
