I love this case and I bought it because of the price and the many many positive reviews. I'd been looking for a while but most cases in this price range look feel and perform like you'd expect but this case is in a different league. One review I read the guy talked about being over 200lbs. and standing on top to test it, noting the case passed with flying colors. I wouldn't do that but I have no doubt they are being truthful as this case is so well built for the price I almost think they sent me the wrong one. But no mistake was made, this IS the case I ordered and it is as good or better then a $150 or $200 case easy; and that's not just lip service. You can't disguise the true quality of a case when you get your hands on one, cheap cases are flimsy and not well padded with cheap latches and appointments. This case is the opposite in each and every way possible, it is very well made, sturdy, stiff and fairly heavy too. The interior padding is thick and substantial and the emerald green crushed velvet interior is just more beautiful then I can express.

I am still sort of stunned and surprised by the quality and quantity of the latches. There are no less then SIX count em SIX latches. I've actually seen a couple of reviews complaining about this and it made me laugh, I'll take all six thank you very much. Four and five latches are good, six is better plain and simple.

You could take this case to any number of experienced musicians and ask "How much do you think this case costs?" and you're going to get $150 to $200 every time, it's simply that well built. One guy said he weighs over 200lbs. and stood on top of it to test it and it passed with ease. Although I myself wouldn't go that far to test the quality I have no doubt it is true, you can just see and feel how well built this case is.

As always MF gave me a great price, sent it with free shipping, no tax and got it to me faster then any company I have ever worked with which is standard practice at MF they do it every time. MF doesn't mess around when it comes to shipping, you buy it and the product is out their doors and shipped before the day is out with an email sent letting you know before you can check. It took only two days and it was at my door smiling back at me AMAZING really.

Understand this case isn't for the touring musician, it's not a road case or a flight case but I it will do very well in almost any other situation from the local gigger to the Tuesday night open jammer.

Make no mistake a standard dreadnought will fit like a glove in a glove, zero movement within the case ZERO. I didn't want a case where my guitar flops around inside during travel,if that had been the ...case ...I would have returned it in a second.

Bottom line if you're looking for a good solid case for you dread you can spend more if you want but you won't get a better case even for much more money.

One more thing. I have read one or two people that were concerned that the case isn't deep enough to fit a 4.5 deep dread but that is NOT an issue at all. My dread is almost a full 5 inches in depth and the guitar fits perfectly in the case, there is no lack of depth in the case itself as far as holding a dread safely none. You can expect your dread to fit without issue so buy with confidence this case is a world beater.

This is an OK case for the money, it will protect and serve. I had to pull out the foam and put in additional foam to make a tight fit for my guitar.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

This was the fourth or fifth of these Silver Creek cases I bought...have been my favorites until this one.the Tolex (?) covering was shrunk away from two seams, leaving a white glue strip exposed.
the lid is flimsy-er feeling now..lighter and thinner.
One of the rear hinges seems to have been crushed in..obvious when case is opened.
Last one I'll buy...apparently the bean counters have taken over, and its a pity. Has been a class act until now!

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

I ordered two real nice Epiphone Dread cases but one had a place where it had been snagged and repaired so I sent it back and got a Silver Creek deluxe dreadnaught case the first one had two places where the tolex was not glued down and bubbling so I sent it back also and the guy on the phone said he would have given me some store credit if I kept it but I figured if the tolex was not glued it would get worse over time. He would not refund my money, Only Give me store credit so I got another Silver Creek
Deluxe case. The second one is OK.Very fast shipping but a pain in the to have to return two cases to get a decent one. The case stinks horribly of Glue
chemicals on the inside. i have been airing it out all week and it still stinks enough that i don't want to put my guitar in it yet.
The Epiphone case was a great deal and I kept the one for my wife's Epiphone. the Silver Creek has thinner padding but the plywood seems good and strong and although not as pretty as the Epi case I think the tolex is tougher on the silver creek. the silver creek is also thinner because the padding is less thick and I gig and jam with my old Guild D50 Bluegrass special so it will take up a bit less room in the vehicle. It fits the D50 real nice and tight.
I really like the abundance of latches and all of them lined up well. I would recommend this case if it stops stinking but I would check the adhesion of the tolex carefully as it is hard to see in some light if it has loose places. I was also told I could not get my money back only store credit. I have been gigging for over 37 years and have purchased from Musicians Friend
since they bought out Music Emporium. I have always received good customer service and prompt delivery.I just can't believe they wouldn't offer to return my money and only give me store credit. I guess I could have called my credit card and cancelled with them but I am happy with the new case so all is good now.If you get a good one it is a Keeper.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

Sturdy case, nice crushed velour interior. Tolex is a bit on the thin side, but still very nice. The case looks quite sturdy. Abundance of latches adds to the sense of sturdiness. Let me say it: it is an absolutely gorgeous, classy-looking case. It looks like a clone of the newer Larrivee deluxe cases.

Only low point is fit, which is hit and miss; some dreads fit nicely, some fit tighlty, others don't fit at all. I had purchased it to replace a Larrivee D beat up case, but was disappointed that the guitar would not fit inside.

Not the first one I buy, so I have some experience: Simon and Patrick D: 12-string fits very nicely. Masterbilt Epiphones D: some fit, some don't, even within the same model (different countries of manufacture give different fit). Epiphone Texan reissue: quite tight fit. Etc.

Check your guitar's measurements carefully, and compare with what measurements are published.

                Of course, YMMV.

This is a nice case. I was not sure if this particular case fit my guitars that I build, but bought one anyway. It is a tight, tight fit for a dread with 16" lower bought, but will work. I wish the MF site would have listed the internal dims.
The latches don't clamp down snugly.
My comments are favorable over-all due to the price. I would not buy this case if it were any more expensive.
