OVERVIEW

One giant leap for drummers!

Different from any other pedal on the market today, the Giant Step Middle Pedal utilizes central beater placement with symmetrical slave pedals on both the right and left foot. This construction provides a perfectly uniform action on both feet while allowing you to place the kick drum in the center of the true stereo field of your drums. The Giant Step Middle Pedal also allows for the creative setups that today's modern music demand. Like all Giant Step pedals the Middle Pedal incorporates unique and patented features only available from Sonor. First and foremost is the docking station. Simply attach the docking station receiver to your bass drum hoop and the pedal's Smart Connect system attaches the pedal with the flick of one lever. No more reaching under the pedal to secure it to the bass drum and more importantly no more chewed-up bass drum hoops. But that's only the beginning. The exclusive Rotation Pendulum tension spring attachment point allows for maximum action and dynamics without loss of energy. Spring mount locations are equipped with high-speed needle bearings for frictionless action and can easily be exchanged for use of alternative types of springs. Beater cams can be individually adjusted independent of the footboard angle to personalize your setup. In order to allow for your ideal playing position, the playing height and position of the footboard target can be adjusted to suit your style. 4 high-speed roller bearings are integrated into a crossbeam at the heel joint allowing for the fastest possible action. If you're ready to step up to the next level of pedal technology, make it a giant step with Sonor!

This Middle Pedal is awesome! Both sides are the same so they feel and act the same unlike other DBL pedals. It changed my playing. Makes everything around my whole kit comfortable and in easy reach. Having your kit flow around you like it does when using this pedal there isn't any energy wasted. The HiHat can be positioned in a comfortable place as well unlike using two bass drums & a regular hat stand. No need for remote hats, unless you'ld like a pair on the other side. Its feels & works just as good as most pedals Ive tried & better than alot of them. IMO every DBL pedal should be made this way or at least have a decocking station. Sonor hit the nail on the head with this one. I will never look at other pedals the same. Its my favorite piece on my kit.

Great concept, construction and features but honestly way overpriced. Sonor could have priced this about half what they did. Still inferior to the axis and the Trick percussion doubles for construction and smoothness of action. The only "unique" attribute is the middle placement of the beaters and for less than one-third the price, you can get an American made Off-set brand double middle pedal that has the same beater placement and pedal placement.

A waste of money

By Jaker the Baker

It's a good concept, but for half of the price of this pedal you could go out and buy one more bass drum and add a single pedal to it to get the same effect. It's waste of money!

Looks like a good Idea

By ARdrummer03

I personally have a double bass drum kit but often have to play on single bass kits. I have a double pedal that i use but can never get the kit centered the way i like it. I think this pedal might be the answer to getting the toms lined up in front. The price looks alittle high though

too much for too little

By Moe Money

from Neverland

This pedal is alright. It is very easily adjustable. The price however, is far too great. The only reason that it cost so much is because it is a middle pedal. You are better off with two bass drums with single pedals or a relular double-pedal. The other Sonor pedals are much more efficient but, I would still rather buy a Tama, DW, Pearl, or Yamaha pedal over this. It is definently not worth the cost and I do not recomend it.

Why bother?

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This pedal is a nice though, but the only problem is if you space your legs out that far, your snare would have to be in the center, which with two bass drums works find because they spread apart, but with just one...get's in the way! Its stupid. Also, it's not built anywhere near as well as midrange cobras, and it's more than a DW 9002! Save the money or buy another bass drum, either way it's smarter.

The Point, is exactly the point

By MalleusMaliceMalificarum

While I think its highway robbery to hold the patent hostage and charge this much for a bass pedal no matter how innovative as it may be- it is (the pedal) a good idea. I for one have always wanted to try and get as centered to my arrangement as possible, to explore working both sides symmetrically. Even if it turns out not as useful as I thought it might be, I will eventually try it, own it and experiment with it, as soon as they retrieve the price from PLUTO, where it has apparently been launched.

Horrible idea

By Anonymous

What is the point of this pedal. Either buy two bass drums or a regular DB pedal. Who would want two slave pedals? one is bad enough and as for the price, you might as well buy two bass drums

Fast, front, and center

By Shantimothy

Try this product! The combination of fast, strap-action, and being centered over the bass drum can change your entire approach to playing a set.

AWESOME

By Stelmon

from Portland, OR

I would just like to say this pedal is AWESOME. I'm a jazz musican that has been playing for 12 years. If you hook this up to your custom hi-hats you could be playing double bass double hi-hat with two pedals. My double hi-hat has never been so fast. GET ONE WHILE YOU CAN.
