Comments about Sovtek 12AX7WA Preamp Tube:
I like the sound of these in my 1965 Fender Bassman Blondie. They do occasionally pop and crackle a bit but not enough for me to stop using them.

Comments about Sovtek 12AX7WA Preamp Tube:
My rebel 20 came with 12axwa tubes !
A ruby just has too many highs for this amp .
Need a really warm tube these WA and WB types are best at taming a bright amp !
The sovtek 12ax7LPS with balanced triodes ,is the best phase inverter ive heard in a push pull amp.
That tube gets your notes thru OD better than others.
I have the 12ax7wc also sovtek that has better gain it seems !
Comments about Sovtek 12AX7WA Preamp Tube:
I replaced the original Fender brand 12AX7A tubes in my Fender Super 112 Amp with these Sovtek 12AX7WA tubes. The Fender tubes have a very smooth, clean sound sound but have become microphonic and are ringing. The Sovtek tubes have a very "Cold" sound to them, no bottom end, no tone. Replaced the Sovtek tubes with the Ruby 12AX7ACZ-HG tubes from my Marshall JCM 900 amp and the amp sounds very close to the original Fender tubes. I ordered another set of the Ruby tubes for the Marshall and will leave the Ruby tubes in the Fender amp for now.
Comments about Sovtek 12AX7WA Preamp Tube:
I put one of these in my Fender Super Champ and it was for sure noticeably more alive sounding than the stock tube. It added a bit more shimmer and an overall warmer & cleaner sound. Great for the money.
Comments about Sovtek 12AX7WA Preamp Tube:
I replaced 2 of these tubes for preamp on my fender hot rod deluxe. These are the same factory stock tubes used by fender. My amp started making crackling noises even when the guitar wasn't plugged in (therefore I knew it couldn't be the guitar and it had to be the amp). Did some research and read it was due to the preamp tubes being worn out. I bought my Fender HRD used from musicians friend and had it for a year and a half and the tubes started wearing out.So I took out the old tubes and it read "Sovtek Made in Russia", and knew I made the right choice. If your fender hot rod deluxe is making cracking noises and u need to replace your tubes, this is the way to go. The only down side I would say was my amp did not sound "quiet" anymore. It has a tiny bit of a hum, but u can't hear it unless your listening for it. Again, it's not the guitar, I can unplug the guitar and the tiny hum is stil there
Comments about Sovtek 12AX7WA Preamp Tube:
These are the tubes that come in the HR DLX amp. I know because my amp was possessed by evil popcorn sounds coming from the speaker. So I replaced all the tubes with Fender/Sovtek's and had the amp professionally re-biased and inspected. The amp still hates me. Then my dad told me the 12AX7WA have been noted on some sites to have a pop or crack sometimes. He bought me the Electro Harmonix 12AX7EH. I replaced the first two preamp tubes and noticed a big difference. The amp sounds warmer, more detailed, and the noises are about 80% quieter. Now I need one more tube. I was surprised this made such a big difference.
Comments about Sovtek 12AX7WA Preamp Tube:
After trying several other pre-amp tube brands/types, I prefer the Sovtek 12AX7WA for my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Amp. Although it doesn't have as much gain/highs as some others, it gives me the best sound that I prefer. It is exactly the same tube as the original/OEM tube that this amp came with (without the "Fender" logo). I personally think Fender knew what they were doing when they used this tube. If you want the "original" sound from your HR Deluxe, use this tube.
