With 25 guitars in my music room ( sits above a 3 car garage ) I was running out of room with the bigger ( albeit nicer ) Hercules 5 and 3 guitar racks even with the additional spacers. These take up much less room and as you can see in the photo - 2 of these with 6 guitars each take up only about the space of one of the Hercules guitar stands. I like the Hercules ones better as you can keep your guitar straps and whammy bars on them due to their larger size, but I was just out of room. Since they are so compact, if you care about your guitars, you'll probably not want to keep the strap(s) and whammy bars on them on the rack.

Warning!

Do not put your nitro finished guitars on this stand! After just a couple days my Gibson guitars had hazing or marks where they were in contact with the rubber tubing.

Comments about String Swing Side-Loading Inline Guitar Rack:

Although this was slightly more expensive and has one less slot than the other two racks I was looking at on here, I took a chance on this, because the other two had substandard reviews about their stability.

THIS on the other hand is an amazing rack. It fits my 3 basses and 1 acoustic guitar on easily with room to spare and it's stable, steady, and yet portable at a moments notice. I couldn't have done better if I built it myself. Don't let the fact that this is made of wood fool you, this thing easily outclasses the competing racks.

Comments about String Swing Side-Loading Inline Guitar Rack:

I put this thing together fine until I got to the last step in the instructions. You are supposed to screw in a Phillips head screw as the final step, but there is no hole to screw it in as shown in the instructions. I had to buy the correct drill bit to drill the hole. This one screw is the only thing that keeps the whole unit from folding up and collapsing. Very weak and unstable. I wouldn't trust this thing to not fall apart and ruin my guitars. DO NOT BUY THIS CHEAP PIECE OF GARBAGE!!!

        Simple to assemble
looks good with other wood decor
Have to get used to setting guitars at certain
angle for stability and space apart so as not to bump each other.

Bought this thing to save space and it ended up taking up more space than 3 single guitar stands.

The big problem is that the guitars really sit almost flat, which if you look at the picture they sit almost upright, that is just not the case.

Comments about String Swing Side-Loading Inline Guitar Rack:

I was looking into a rack, didn't want to do the black metal kind. Other stands only offered 3 or 5 guitars. This one offered 6, but in reality, it can only fit six if they're electric. Might be able to fit 3-4 acoustics. I needed it for a combo of 2 acoustics, 1 electric and a bass, so it was perfect, much more visually pleasing than a black metal stand, it matched the flooring.

Comments about String Swing Side-Loading Inline Guitar Rack:

I bought two of these to help store my ever-expanding collection. Being wood they look great in my studio and hold 6 guitars each, as long as they're electric and fairly thin bodied.
They'll only hold 3 or maybe 4 acoustics but they're a lot more compact than setting the guitars on individual stands. The only thing I'm not wild about is, they use a wood screw to prevent unintended folding so, if you want to fold them for transport, you need a screw driver.

Comments about String Swing Side-Loading Inline Guitar Rack:

First and foremost, this guitar stand is made of nice wood. It doesn't look cheap and it certainly looks better than the black metal stands.

The real problem is that the set screw doesn't do it's job. The photo shows guitars that are nearly standing up right. But when the stand gets put together, your guitars will be at a near 45 degree angle. This fact is unfortunate and very annoying. Plus, the stand feels flimsy after final completion.

I had to pilot hole and drill in new screws to make the stand be as up right as possible. While this fact may seem slight, it is still an annoyance and something that String Swing should fix if they care about integrity.

The only reason to buy this stand is if you don't like the looks of the black metal ones. But if you don't care about looks, then buy those and save yourself the trouble with this flimsy (unless you fix it) stand. But who knows, maybe those black metal ones are flimsy too!

Comments about String Swing Side-Loading Inline Guitar Rack:

This item arrived with the wrong set of assembly instructions. The hole required for the last screw that keeps the stand from folding was missing. Two pre-drilled holes were too large for the screws included. Once I rectified these problems, however, the stand works well and looks decent.
