Overall, it's an awesome desk for the price. Hands down! Gives plenty of room and is very versatile. Fits in small spaces all while organizing your equipment.

        I highly recommend this desk!
The best way to put it....simple and effective. The pull-out keyboard holder is really handy and comfortably fits my Apple wireless keyboard and mouse. I put my midi keyboard on top of the desk where it fits perfectly! The rack mount is sturdy and can fit just enough racks. My monitor fits great on top of the rack, the sides have a good amount of space for monitors, but could maybe be a bit longer. And the very bottom piece under the desk has enought space to fit some random stuff on it and a subwoofer.
The wood is not wood. Its just a laminant over top of particle board (which I hope you already know by just looking at the pictures and price).

The metal is plenty sturdy and not some plastic crap.

The desk is made in CA then shipped to the Musicians Friend warehouse is MO and then shipped to NJ where I live so after all the shipping in the original box it took some damage. A few of the corners are chipped. I did not ship back because it would be too expensive and I would just be taking another chance of receiving another one chipped.

As the old saying goes...you get what you pay for.....BUT with this desk you do get more than what you pay for!
        You can't beat the price!

It does the job by organizing all your basic studio equipment and provides a great setup for a beginner or advanced studio engineer.

Let me start off by saying that I am pretty satisfied with this desk - It has some nice features for the price, and it fits my setup perfectly (I have a 49-key keyboard that fits the main shelf perfectly, and a 4U rack computer that fits in the rack just above that shelf). Now my complaints... This desk took me 4 hours to build because of screw holes that were not drilled properly. I'm an average-strength guy, and I enlisted the help of my very big very strong friend and the screws still gave us hell. This may sound like a small issue, but when you're dealing with 50+ screws it starts to hurt (my hands still feel like theyre going to bleed). So in conclusion I'm fairly happy with my purchase, but the company ought to be called Studio RTAP (ready to assemble with pain)... but then again the price tag leaves it with the 5 stars and average overall rating. Good luck!

Comments about Studio RTA Mix Station:

My only complaint is about UPS. I ordered on a Friday and knew I'd have to wait the weekend before they'd ship. However, it's beyond me how the item can be "out for delivery" at 4:21am and is not delivered until 5:30pm. That's a super long day for that driver. PLUS, because of lack of consciousness, the box got wet and the main piece of particle board inside the box got wet. Hopefully it dries w/o buldging, cracking, dissentigrating, etc. I half-way expected the thing to be partially destroyed because of all the reviews about the shipping. But, it arrived in good condition other than that piece getting wet. If it doesn't dry out very well I'll return it and complain vocally about UPS not taking care of the packages they're delivering.

Comments about Studio RTA Mix Station:

I read the reviews on this product, but had to find out for myself. Maybe I was fortunate to get a good one...I don't know. It was well packed. The box was beat up pretty bad, but all the contents were in great shape. I've been a professional musican for many years. I'm still a novice to intermediate when it comes to recording. Although I sing and play bass, my forte is still drumming. I needed something I could put right beside my kit along with my computer, hardware and software. That way I can put on my headphones, conveniently hit record, and my session begins. So for me, this workstation is ideal. It's very sturdy and has locking wheels. The only thing that might be a problem for some people is the lack of space for monitor placement. I had to sell my monitors and get smaller ones. For some people, this can be a big deal. For me, however, it wasn't. I didn't like my old monitors anyway.

Worth getting for the money and function provided but do not expect it to arrive in good shape. I took a chance after reading other reviewers describing shipping damage and did not get lucky.
Well designed and easy to assemble with all holes lining up. Poorly designed packaging with a damaged desktop and bent metal side and back screens upon receipt.

nice desk for the basic home studio.
            nice desk..
pretty sturdy, i need to get a new moniter screen now tho, because the one i have looks so little now lol.
Or i could just get the double screen thing.. iono but i need something.
If you do get this get some monitor stand thats what i did and it looks awesome
there really isnt enought room to put your moniter on the desk to make the right stereo image.
            pretty good
it came chipped a little bit, but its fine i guess.
the pull out keyboard thing is a bit cheap but still fine.
            worth the price

I ordered this desk from Musicians Friend. It was broken when it arrived. I did an exchange and a week later a got another one broken in the same place. I did another exchange and got it with all of the pieces in one piece. It was pretty easy to assemble, and it feels fairly sturdy. I would suggest monitor stands if you are really planning on making this a mix station. In all it is an alright desk especially for the money.

i ordered the table, it came quickly. it wasnt damaged in shipping. it all fit together perfectly.
more than enough table space for my recording needs. rolls quite nicely even on carpet.
very sturdy construction. the only shady parts are the privacy panels but still do there jobs nicely.
            great table for the money.

            BOGUS WOOD

Comments about Studio RTA Mix Station:

I have tried to purchase this item twice, once from Musicians Friend and once from Guitar Center. When the shipment came in from MF, I took out all the parts and noticed 3 pieces of wood were significantly damaged... Okay I figured that some disgruntled FedEx employee didnt take care of it... Then I bought another one in store at Guitar Center... Same freaking problem... The main piece is damaged, although slightly less.

            from Alabama! YAH!

Comments about Studio RTA Mix Station:

This thing is more sturdy and durable, larger, and better looking in person. And it fits me and im 5'10" guy with the longest legs and this is the most comfortable thing and most convenient as long as you have a good chair, ;). But I would lower the monitor stand becuz it just looks weird with all that unused space under it. And find something else to hold your monitors, please. Overall, a great desk to have. also, this will support the heaviest things because at a guitar center i saw a beat-up one that still supported a huge mac and the biggest practice bass amp that you have ever seen andthe thing was a sturdy as a rock after it had been used by strangers and sitting there for years!
