      OVERVIEW

The solution for organizing and holding all your studio gear.

With plenty of room for all your electronic gear, the Studio RTA Producer's Station is the answer to making your workspace more efficient and ergonomic. The main tier is big enough for an 88-key keyboard, and dual 13-space racks on each side keep your rack gear squared away. A 5-space rack holds additional equipment on top and there are dual 8-space CD holders. The upper tier accommodates additional keyboards or a computer monitor. Two smaller sliding tiers hold computer keyboards, and handy cable organizers in back keep them tangle-free and out of the way. Locking casters make the whole system easy to move.

This desk was shipped in one big box. One person can't move it - but once opened pieces are easily seperated and instructions are simple. All rack mounts lined up perfectly with no issues.
Once assembled desk can be easily moved on its heavy duty wheels.
Absolutely perfect for a small studio - for me, MAC, MBox Pro, Two HD screens, two Mackie Monitors, Rack Tuner, Rack power supply, two rack preamps, MIDI Controller. Couldn't be better for this price!!

Love this as it works great for editing videos and other work that I do. The only problem is that the rack mounts are definitely not made for holding heavy items, like rack mount PC's, or anything that weighs more than a few pounds as the rack mounts are flimsy and only spot welded to the workstation. On the one I have, one of the spot welds was broken out of the box, but I didn't feel like having to ship the whole unit back because of it. Also MAKE SURE where you put it is where you want to keep it because it does not fit out a normal size door withouth having to dismantle it.

Other than that, it's a great workstation and I use it on a daily basis. In fact, I am getting ready to order another one.

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

This functionality, storage, and rack mounts allowed me to get rid of two tables that were taking up too much space in my studio. Everything fit and I still have room for more. It's a kind of tall for monitors, but the desk came with free monitor stands and that did the trick.

        Some tips for assembly

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

A fine work place, with lots of rack space. A little tricky to get to the back of the gear once it's mounted in the lower racks.

A few tips for assembly of this flat box furniture:
-The bag with the two casters in it are locking casters. Place them where you want them first, so that you don't end up having to remove two that you already mounted when you realize this.
-The rack mounts in the top part of the cabinet are directional - there will be a gap at the top, or the bottom once you install your gear. You may want to consider this.
-The stupid CD holder "ears" can be mounted with minimum blood loss if you use the "ears" as a sort of holder of the Allen Key to spin the Key around, thereby tightening the screw. Don't tighten the first screw all the way, so you can use the same technique to tighten the opposite (top or bottom) screw.
-Although the "instructions" specify to hold off tightening the bolts until step seven or eight, go ahead and tighten them BEFORE you flip the table over to right side up. Much less chance of bending bolts, etc. this way.
-Build the desk in the room you would like the desk to fit in. It might not fit through the door.
-A new door cost less than this desk.

Top shelf is too tall for a video screen but O.K. for monitor speakers. Lots of storage space for equipment. Really looks good and it is well made. Went together nicely. A big improvement over my old 'work table'.

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

When assembled it looked gigantic. It fit my space well enough but still seemed to present a huge footprint. It wasn't until I brought all my gear back into the room (Most of it going on this desk) that I realized I had gained space. Things that I needed additional table tops for fit on this desk with lots of rooms to spare. Dangerous for me cuz now I have room for more gear.
Before all that, though, the first thing we noticed was a considerable and positive change in the room's acoustics. I thought it was just me until I read it elsewhere in this survey. I do a good deal of solo recording and the quality of unvarnished versions of my efforts has increased greatly.
I just might go back for another.

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

The desk proved fairly easy to assemble and didn't really take all that long. Things lined up, for the most part, although the racks aren't perfect in that respect. It is nice to have the rack space, btw — a major point in my decision to buy this particular unit.

The heavy-duty casters are also a definite plus — I can move the desk around as needed, even with the racks full. Those racks are quite deep and, perhaps, a bit inconvenient to access at the rear. That's not a very big deal. On the other hand, the central low shelf is not really deep enough for a typical tower computer without a bit of overhang.

Yes, the upper shelf is a bit high for monitors (both types). I placed wedges under my near-fields to lean them forward a tad and now their placement is completely acceptable. The screen is still positioned higher than I am accustomed to but I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

It is good to see plenty of metal used in the construction. That suggests durability. It certainly beats units that depend on particle board for structural integrity. The surfaces are obviously a plastic laminate but that's to be expected and is acceptable at this price. Looks okay.

All in all, a solid choice if one has the room for it (it is pretty big!) at a decent price (especially when it is on sale).

This desk is very well constructed and easy to build. I have assembled at least a dozen large pieces of furniture, and these instructions are by far the best I have seen. The parts are labelled and the diagrams are clear, simple to read, and complete. The design of the desk is excellent; it does everything I could want. The only thing I would change is to remove the CD racks, but that is a micro-nit.
