Highly functional tuner. The dynamic brightness of the LEDs are a nice touch. The display is pretty simple to understand. Works nicely for fine-tuning jobs like intonations. The bypass isn't completly silent, there's a slight hum when I switch it on but in the context of a gig it wouldn't be noticeable. The ability to tune all six strings at once is cool, but personally I don't think it's all that usefull or really even needed. You can't adjust the pitch of all six strings at once anyway. I could see someone using that feature to quickly check their tuning on the fly but using it to actually tune up your guitar seems unlikely. Small, compact pedal that doesn't take up too much room on the board. The LEDs are easy to read and it's really easy to get used to the tuning display. Very intuitive. One of the best pedal tuners on the market in my humble opinion.

I've found that all the TC Electronic pedals are sturdy, rugged, and built to last being stepped on many times. They're not too big, so fit on a pedalboard nicely, and the power is at the top of the pedal, not at the side like most MXR pedals which can be a bit annoying. I don't know that this is a pedal to be raved about...
Tried using on acoustic first, with a very strong under-saddle pickup (Fishman) and volume at 3/4. It wouldn't read the 6th and 5th strings. 4-1 were fine. I tuned them all individually, as the "poly" function seems pretty useless, and I've found, inaccurate. I've heard these are both common complaints.
On electric, I had the same problem with the 6th and 5th not being read.. maybe a flash here and there. However, I figured out that when I rolled the tone knob on my guitar all the way down, it worked... but wasn't very accurate. Very weird. A friend (guitar tech) of mine told me I should tune using the neck pickup. So I did. Nothing.
Selling it and getting a Korg pitch-black. When it comes to tuning, simple is better!

Comments about TC Electronic Polytune Chromatic Pedal Tuner:
Have always used battery operated clip on headstock tuners in the past but found it difficult to accurately tune in live jam or performance situations; finally broke down and got one I could plug into and the result was what I had hope for - more accurate tuning and the ability to tune without having sound come out of the amp for both electric or acoustic/electric.

Comments about TC Electronic Polytune Chromatic Pedal Tuner:
The screen fell off upon taking it out of the box. This is the second T.C. product to fail on me in the last year. At least the Flashback switch lasted for a couple dozen gigs. T.C. is officially sacrificing quality for mass production.

Comments about TC Electronic Polytune Chromatic Pedal Tuner:
After seeing that some of my favorite guitar players used TC Electronics I decided to get one myself. I decided to go with this Polytune and man I'm glad I did!! This thing is excellent. It has a bright display and you can easily use this thing in dark places or dark concerts. I like that you can strum and it tells you which strings are out of tune. Me personally, I like to tune each individual string. Works great in different tunings, especially in drop tunings like drop c or drop d. After getting this I sold my Boss TU2 tuner and this stays on my pedalboard. Get one and see for yourself how great this thing is!!

Comments about TC Electronic Polytune Chromatic Pedal Tuner:
I use one of these with my acoustic setup. I like it much better than the polyphonic tuner I had in my electric rig so I bought another one. It's fast and accurate. I've read where it's not as accurate as others but I tried it against my boss tu2 and my hardwire ht6 polyphonic and its just as accurate. It's much easier to see also. The strings are not so close together that you need to look hard. Also when it's off it's invisible. True bypass.

Comments about TC Electronic Polytune Chromatic Pedal Tuner:
First time using a TC Eletronics Pedal, so far it is very easy to use. Works for different standard tunings. I have not owned it very long, so I cannot comment on too much. But so far so good.

Very good quality of the TC as usual!!!
Pros
Cons
- Footswitch Is Weak
- Polytuning Reads Flat

Comments about TC Electronic Polytune Chromatic Pedal Tuner:
I've been using this tuner for over a year now. The footswitch occasionally does not engage - you hear and feel the click, but it doesn't switch. The design and position of it (it's low) allows you to "miss" it sometimes. This to me is the major flaw. The polytuning works, but reads strings as a drop flat when individually they read dead on - this may be due partially to the difference in string attack when you pluck one string vs. a gentle strum - but it's a flaw. You strum, it reads strings as flat, you pick the string to tune it up and it's dead on. In reality, real life at gigs, polytuning is not needed. I can tune string by string faster and so the polytuning becomes a novelty and I just about never use it. A poly tuner is useless if you have more than a single tuning, so you'll just tune a string at a time anyway. I use 5 different tunings on 3 guitars so I have to tune chromatically. Lastly, this tuner doesn't match a boss tu-2, so when playing with other musicians who use that tuner, you will not line up. This may be the accurate tuner, but still you have to take this into consideration as most players are using a TU-2. I will not use one of those again, as true bypass in a tuner is great. I'm shopping for a new tuner right now...

We tune because we care and the polytune is easy breezy...you can tune on stage and the audience doesn't have to hear it all because the tuner keeps it from going to the mains or monitors....No more e..eee.e.e.bbbb.bb.b..gggg..ggg...for the audience to hear...except if you're in the front row! lol. It's great!
