The Advanced Vintage Replacement II is the exact replacement for the bridges found on older or vintage electric guitars originally fitted with ABR-1 style bridges. The AVR-II locking model has the complete appearance of the vintage part, but has many upgrades including more intonation range, and saddles that are "engineered in" solid, preventing "lift" against the retainer wire. Retrofit for most Vintage and reissued USA guitars without modification. Extra tight construction eliminates rattles and improves sustain.

FEATURES
  • Replacement for ABR-1-style bridges
  • More intonation range
  • Saddles that are "engineered in" solid to prevent "lift"
  • Retrofit for most Vintage and reissued USA guitars
  • Extra tight construction

Comments about TonePros AVR-II Tune-o-matic Bridge:

I like the way that this unit is about 0.010" smaller than their regular bridge they sell. It goes on the post of my new 2012 ES-335 without having to fight to get it on. I was able to set the intonation perfectly, and I don't have to worry about it falling off while I am changing all my strings and messing up the finish on my new guitar. Oh and of course it has that authentic vintage look.

Comments about TonePros AVR-II Tune-o-matic Bridge:

The bridge on my les Paul was old and had many slots on each saddle so it was time to replace it. With the avr II there is no buzz and the guitar is much easier to intonate. It also looks just like the original part. The saddles have to be cut because there are no slots, but that's not totally bad, they can be cut exactly where you want the strings to be. Nice upgrade

Comments about TonePros AVR-II Tune-o-matic Bridge:

Original ABR-1 on 1980 Les Paul Custom was 35 years old and was totally wore out, so I decided to try the AVR-II. Be aware this AVR-II is not an exact replacement. The screw-in mounting posts that come with this AVR-II are a different size than my LP and will not screw into the LP mounting holes. Fortunately, the original LP posts fit this bridge, but the bridge mounting hole centers are slightly more narrow that the LP mounting posts centers. Had to drill out the AVR-II mounting holes just slightly (about 1/32") to get the bridge mounting centers to match the original LP post centers. Once this was done, bridge mounted up and is very solid. No problem setting intonation and no buzz.

I've read a lot of other reviews about this bridge concerning tone and sustain improvement. It may have improved a little bit, but the Les Paul is already one of the best sounding, best sustaining guitars made, so it's hard to discern much difference. That's my 2 cents.

Comments about TonePros AVR-II Tune-o-matic Bridge:

I purchased this bridge for my Gibson SG. It is a direct replacement. The locking allen screws for the mounting posts are a nice feature. The posts are the same thread as the original Gibson posts so you won't have to extract the old posts and insert the new ones if you don't want to. The saddles are mounted better -more solid - than the loosely mounted saddles on the Gibson ABR-1 bridge. Please note that the saddles on this bridge do NOT have notches cut for the strings. You will either have to do that yourself or take it to a luthier. I bought the chrome version. Otherwise it is a good-looking, well-built bridge.

Comments about TonePros AVR-II Tune-o-matic Bridge:

The retaining wire came loose on the bridge on my 1967 Gibson ES-335. I couldn't make it tighter by fiddling with it, and I had it pop out at a gig and then a bridge saddle popped out. It took me some time to find it, and I didn't want to repeat the experience. I bought the Tone Pros bridge in the hope that it would be functional and allow me to put the vintage bridge away. The Tone Pros bridge is a perfect fit (just dropped it in on the old mounting posts) and the intonation was pretty close straight from the factory. I needed to make minor adjustments on only two saddles. I had to file notches in the saddles, but that took all of three minutes. I am very happy with it.
