OVERVIEW

Special leg locking system and finish-friendly guitar stand that'll do more than just support you guitar.

Ultimate Support's GS-100 unique hanging-style guitar stand securely holds your guitar by the head stock while the body rests safely against velvet-like padded legs. A safety strap at the yoke provides extra protection. The GS-100 securely and safely holds guitars of all makes and styles. The GS-100 is height adjustable so you can quickly adjust its height to accommodate nearly any acoustic guitar, electric guitar, banjo, or bass guitar. Mix and match the GS-100 with any of your favorite guitars - it holds them all perfectly!

Friendly to your guitar's finish
Did you know that most expensive guitars use a nitrocellulose lacquer finish that requires special care? Because of the sensitivity of these finishes, our protective padding is a quality material surface that offers increased protection over standard surgical tubing, rubber, or foam found on other guitar stands (a high-quality case is recommended for long-term storage).

Leg locking system
Genesis Series guitar stands feature a unique, patented leg-locking mechanism. When setting up the stand, unlock and unfold the legs then lock in place for worry-free stability and strength. When finished with the gig, unlock the legs, fold, and lock for easy, compact portability. The ingenious leg lock eliminates what we like to call the "floppy leg syndrome" found with most all other guitar stands.

FEATURES
  • Hanging-style security yoke
  • Height-adjustable
  • Stable and portable
  • Friendly to your guitar's finish

Spend a few extra bucks and, try this stand, you'll be glad you did. This could probably be the best stand that I have ever purchased.
Just received this and, I must say that I was not disappointed. I already own some Ultimate lighting stands and, have had them for over 25yrs. without any problems so I figured that this should hopefully follow suit and, it has. I really like the way it folds down into 1 unit and, sets up in a flash. Very sturdy, and well built, looks as if it will last a good long while.
It definitely has more stability and tube strength than the 3 pc. tubular stands.

These stands are attractive, fold compactly and have the appearance of being sturdy, however the locking mechanism for the legs is weak and gave out after only a few dozen set up/foldup cyccles. I definitely did not abuse it.

I noticed it was drooping a bit during a couple of gigs and so I re-locked it, then two nights ago it collapsed and my Strat fell, landing face down on the stage floor! Upon examining it I see that the internal locking mechanism is not accessible because it is riveted, therefore I can't see exactly what internal part failed. I bought three of these guitar stands for live performance, now I'm down to two. The others still seem ok, but I'm questioning if I should get rid of them after my Strat incident. In looking at the other reviews I see that many other people have had a similar problem with the locking mechanism. If this quality problem was addressed then it would rate 5 stars. However, based on the failure it is 1 star.

Comments about Ultimate Support GS-100 Genesis Single Guitar Stand:

The mechanism that tightens the height of the stand is poorly designed. I bought two of these stands and loved them for a while. Each lasted about a year before the tightening mechanism didn't hold the stand up anymore. So now I've got two great Ukulele or Mandolin stands!

Will never use one again.

Will never use one of these again.
I don't think I've even owned this stand a year . I set it up and put it in the corner of my living room and haven't moved it since. I had my hofner bass which is very light sitting in it and the back leg gave out for absolutly no reason at all. I hadn't touched the stand or bass in days. Just happened to be in the room when it happened. I will never trust an instrument in one of these stands again.

Don't entrust your guitar to it!

Comments about Ultimate Support GS-100 Genesis Single Guitar Stand:

I was very happy with this stand at first but after only a year gigging it turned out to be a flop - litterally. I treated it kindly, gently packed it up and gently set it up ei. I didn't abuse it. It was never dropped. I eventually noticed that the red locking mechanism was unlocking on it's own at the slightest pressure of any one of the two front legs. The symptom worsened until the stand no longer functioned at all. The weight of the guitar (in my case a Strat) was enough to push the legs right out from under even though they were in the locked position. The Strat landed on it's heel and I was there to catch it before it went over. I would take it apart and try to fix it myself but there are no scews - only rivets. By most appearances this stand is a very nice design but I have to say that whatever makes it up internally is garbage. Very disappointed!
Although well care for this Ulitmate Support GS-100 guitar stand
broke down after only a year of use. By most appearances this stand is a very nice design but I have to say that whatever makes it up internally is garbage. Very disappointed!
Gets an extra star for cosmetic quality. The quality of the internal workings is shameful.
I puchased this stand to own it and use it for a reasonable period of time. I didn't pay to rent it for a only a year. Just the worst value.

I already own this stand. Have had it for several years and have never had a problem. So when needing another stand I chose the Genesis and couldn't be more pleased. My Martin is resting on the new one right now and my Chet Atkins SST is cradled in the old one. I couldn't be more pleased.

I use it for a 5 string Schechter Bass Guitar. It is pretty heavy and this stand handles it easily.

I have used these stands for years. Used to manage a music store where we used them. I never saw a single instrument ever hit the floor when it was in one of these stands. Can't say that about any other brand. Also never had one mar the headstock of an instrument. You can't go wrong.

Comments about Ultimate Support GS-100 Genesis Single Guitar Stand:

This is the most useful and portable guitar stand I've had over my 40 years of playing and 25 years of gigging. I got it originally for my Thunderbird bass. I used it for three years before it was acquired by an unknown party at a church. I'm on my second now, and I'm about to get a third and fourth for my home studio.

Setup and teardown are quick and easy. Packing is effortless with no parts sticking out at odd angles.

I've had none of the reliability issues of some of the other reviewers. It holds any guitar from the funny-shaped Gibbies to an old Takamine accoustic without fear or stress.
