Ultimate Support

Ultimate Supports GS-100 guitar stand is one of the most compact tube-style stands on the market (folds to just 22" x 3-1/5"). Securely holds any size guitar or bass, hanging it by the headstock. Well-cushioned with inert padding so no chemical emissions will mar your finish, and has no protruding pieces to hang up your guitar strap or cable. Tripod base is extremely stable, even on uneven surfaces. Handy pick storage slots on the top of the yoke.

Will never use one again.

Features:

I don't think I've even owned this stand a year . I set it up and put it in the corner of my living room and haven't moved it since. I had my hofner bass which is very light sitting in it and the back leg gave out for absolutly no reason at all. I hadn't touched the stand or bass in days. Just happened to be in the room when it happened. I will never trust an instrument in one of these stands again.

Don't entrust your guitar to it!

Features:

Although well care for this Ulitmate Support GS-100 guitar stand

broke down after only a year of use.  By most appearances this stand is a very nice design but I have to say that whatever makes it up internally is garbage.  Very disappointed!

Quality:

Gets an extra star for cosmetic quality. The quality of the internal workings is shameful.

Value:

I puchased this stand to own it and use it for a reasonable period of time. I didn't pay to rent it for a only a year. Just the worst value.

Overall:

I was very happy with this stand at first but after only a year  gigging it turned out to be a flop - litterally. I treated it kindly,  gently packed it up and gently set it up ei. I didn't abuse it. It was  never dropped. I eventually noticed that the red locking mechanism was  unlocking on it's own at the slightest pressure of any one of the two  front legs. The symptom worsened until the stand no longer functioned at  all. The weight of the guitar (in my case a Strat) was enough to push  the legs right out from under even though they were in the locked  position. The Strat landed on it's heel and I was there to catch it  before it went over. I would take it apart and try to fix it myself but there are no scews - only rivets.  By most appearances this stand is a  very nice design but I have to say that whatever makes it up internally  is garbage.  Very disappointed!

Great Guitar Stand

Features:

Just received this and, I must say that I was not disappointed. I already own some Ultimate lighting stands and, have had them for over 25yrs. without any problems so I figured that this should hopefully follow suit and, it has. I really like the way it folds down into 1 unit and, sets up in a flash. Very sturdy, and well built, looks as if it will last a good long while.

Quality:

It definitely has more stability and tube strength than the 3 pc. tubular stands.

Value:

Hey, you get what you pay for, enough said.

Overall:

Spend a few extra bucks and, try this stand, you'll be glad you did. This could probably be the best stand that I have ever purchased.

Clever design. Well made. I take my Ultimate stand to gigs because my Fender Marcus Miller is significantly heavier than most bass guitars and I don't trust other stands.

Compared to a typical stand, hanging the guitar from the headstock which offers these advantages:

  • More stable. Less likely to fall over.
  • Easier to put on the stand. Just hang it from the headstock. Do not have to be careful that it is placed correctly.
  • Easier to take off the stand...because there are no lower support arms, the guitar strap and instrument cable never gets caught on the stand.

Rugged design. The tubes are beefy, the padding is thick and the locking mechanism is solid and reliable.

Folds up small in seconds.

It works as well now as when I bought it years ago.

It cost a little more than a cheap, traditional stand but will last longer. The price has gone down since I bought mine.

Heavy Duty

This baby is made of heavy duty construction.  Key features are quality construction, nice features, very portable, and value priced when compared to the leading competitor. I'm really pleased since it works great for my Gibson Explorer.  A bass guitar would work well too.  At $10-15 less than the alternative, ($15 less than the only similar choice at the leading retailer), it's a good bargain.  Of course Musician's Friend had it at my doorstep in less than a week with no shipping charge. Enough said?
