Good buy, a great step up from the "cheap" cables that too many new players start with. Do yourself a favor... dont think twice... just buy a quality cable. Buying an expensive cable way back when was one of the best gear purchases I ever made. I always tend to hear nuance and feel that others dont, and I believe the good cable I bought long ago (see above) had a lot to do with it. I can instantly hear a setup with cheap cables, others I know dont know any difference cause thats all theyve every used. Dont short change yourself...dont skimp on a good cable!!
The cloth coating and flexibility are nice, as are the top notch jacks
Seems very well made. Sound quality was less than I expected but still not bad. I bought based on the cable shootout in Guitar Player. It sounds better than your run of the mill cheap junk ...WAY better. But it does have a character. To my ear its on the bright end of the spectrum, maybe a tad harsh even. I wouldnt describe it as warm at all. It would be great for an overly warm guitar. With my LP and Music Man Axis through various tube amps, it is chimey. GP described it as "very musical", and rated high for "shimmer" if I remember right... I would agree.
Ive been playing the same Pro Co Cable (Excalibur...no longer made) for over 20 years, that I bought from MF. It was expensive at the time (50 or 60 bucks), and the Vox is'nt as musical as the Pro Co. I used to think the term "bloom" for a cable was a joke.. but thats the only way to describe the difference. The Pro Co is fuller, more nuanced and "bloomier". This isnt a slant on the Vox, its a good sounding cable and not a bad buy at all. Perhaps comparing a brand new cable to a 20 year old cable with thousands of hours on it is unfair. ? Maybe after some time and break in (which I also question even happens with cables) the sound could change and warm up a bit.
If your curious the cable on my Pro Co is labled "music mover". Maybe they still sell this cable under different model names.

When I got this cable, I was blown away by its superior tone and lack of feedback. This is one of the better cables in terms of sound that I have ever owned. However, about a week after I got it, a loud buzzing sound came out of my amp when I plugged it in. I checked the fuse on my amp and saw that it was fine, then checked the circuitry on my Ibanez RG series guitar, which seems okay. This cable seems to have some issues with quality although it is good while it lasts.

Comments about Vox Professional Guitar Cable:
Good cable. Well-built.
Comments about Vox Professional Guitar Cable:
The cord overall is a nice cord. It was a little pricey hoever you get what you pay for especially with guitar cords. The jacks are well built and rugged, along with the cord itself.
I got this cable and I use it with my SG CUSTOM. The guitar has a jack on the face of the body so the right angle jack lets it hang down instead of sticking straight out 3 or 4 inches. I like the heavy braided cloth cable. It does not tangle and My guitar seems to sound nice.

Comments about Vox Professional Guitar Cable:
I just received my Vox cables from Musician's Friend. I must say I'm very impressed. I bought one for electric and one of the acoustic ones. Both are very well made, and are the quietest cables I have ever used. I didn't realize how noisy my old cables were until I plugged these in.I was leary of spending so much on cables since I don't play proffesionaly anymore, but now I'm glad I did. I wish I had owned these when I was playing gigs. They are very flexable and the connectors are top notch. All the notes are crystal clear with no hum at all. I feel if you can afford these they are deffinately worth your time and money.
Comments about Vox Professional Guitar Cable:
I just received my Vox guitar cable and it is top notch! The cable is fabric coated, so it does not get twisted and tangled as bad as a rubber one. Vox logos on both ends with gold connectors. The only guitars I could think of having issues with, would be Strat types. The connector housings are kind of wide, and my not fit well into the narrow recessed Strat style input jack. The cable fits nice and tight with both my Vox AC30 and Gretsch Country Gentleman.
Comments about Vox Professional Guitar Cable:
I used it through my vox AC15 H1TV and Fender Blues Deluxe. After playing for a few minutes, I did realize the change in sound quality. That over my Mogami cable. I had already chosen that over Monster. We'll see how long it lasts.
Comments about Vox Professional Guitar Cable:
These cables suck. They do not fit guitar jacks or amp jacks tightly. They are contantly falling out of my guitars. They are also noisy and have poor sound quality. Save your money.
