A pure and complete power source to keep your pedal board going, even on the road.

Comments about Walrus Audio Phoenix 120V Clean Power Supply:

What surprised me most was how my pedals sounded so much better. There was a cleaner, less muddy sound to everything. The extra outlet is nice, as I have 21 pedals to power, so I still use a daisy chain on 6 of them.

Comments about Walrus Audio Phoenix 120V Clean Power Supply:

Ok like the title said there is a lot to love about the Phoenix it has close to 25A on tapto power even digital pedals. It comes with all your cables to power 15 pedals and 2 reverse tip cables to power line 6 pedals. The switchable 9-18 volt is good for more head room, but you only get one so make it count. You get 2, 9-12 volt power supplies so that's nice. There is even an 3 prong outlet on the front!
The cons? Odds are you want to populate all these power sources or you would have gone voodoo labs! Well I started with it on the top of my Pedal train classic 2 board. I didn't have 15 pedals but I bought it with the intent of expanding my board in the future. At that time I had 10 pedals. The plugs that come with the Phoenix want to be inserted so that the right angle connector is either pointing straight up or straight down. There wasn't space for me to go down so I went up. There problem with that is you are now blocking row 2. If you put them on the top row pointing down you get the exact same issue. Ideally top points up bottom points down and you will have no issues. Unfortunately every way I've mounted this it ends up impossible for me to do with my board. You can plug a few plugs into the Phoenix and have them route to the side but after about 2-3 you have stack up tolerance issues. It will put a lot of stress on the connectors. That brings me to the next issue the connectors are soldered to a circuit board and not hardmounted to the metal chasie to prevent stress on connectors and circuit boards.

As clean power with lots of inputs for pedals it's ace. But they need to hire a mechanical engineer to help them design more rugged, and less congested power routing. For the money I would have expected a better thought out product. Also don't get me started on the mounting kit!!! That piece of junk would get no stars! Seriously if you want a less stress power supply buy a voodoo labs Mondo. It's has 13 outputs and a better mounting kit!!!!

Comments about Walrus Audio Phoenix 120V Clean Power Supply:

Fits perfectly on my Holeyboard Next Series (wide) board. I would recommend plugging in the power cables in before sliding the Phoenix in and zip tying it down. It's pretty snug and it's a bit difficult plugging in the power cables so the ends don't cover up other outlets.
