Getaway Sustain Pedal

Features:

This sustain pedal works really well, once you coral it from trying to get away. I finally came to the conclusion that it had to be placed against the diagonal leg of the keyboard stand to make it behave. Being a trained organist/pianist, my sustaining foot had no problem with the altered position from that of a grand piano. Just like riding a bicycle, you never forget how.

I use this pedal with the Yamaha PSR- E423 and have never had any problem with it reversing it's function as has been observed by other users. The pedal feels good while being used and is absolutely silent in operation. It is almost a match in action to my baby grand making the change from one to the other almost unnoticeable.

So, Great pedal, but if you must have it right in front of you; you'll need two manhole covers to keep it from getting away. I've tried all kinds of mats to no avail. Butt it against the corner of a keyboard stand and it will be fine. Just pay attention to the cable from the pedal. No Pinching!

Great quality sustain pedal, affordable and well constructed, compatible with basic Yamaha keyboard. Appears to be very durable; not light weight or flimsy.

Make sure the keyboard is off before installing pedal or it does not work properly.

Works as designed . . . and as it should!

Good pedals shouldn't be hard to find.     Yamaha (& Roland) seem to have figured that out.     While it's hard to rave about a pedal (I get infinitely more enthusiasm out of actually playing a keyboard for 10 seconds than pushing a pedal up and down for a year), this FC4 does what it's supposed to: work!     I've used it with an EX5, a Motif XS7, X5D, TritonLE (with the Triton's polarity setting reversed) and an M50-88 (likewise on the polarity).     Only real beef if at all is no polarity switchability and not having a right-angle 1/4" plug.

Nothing special . . . it's just a good solid pedal.     No switch to reverse polarity (which would be nice, but not essential).     Would like to see a right-angle plug and a rotatable foot mat (for lack of a better description) like some of my older Roland pedals.

Good solid pedal.     No problems thus far.     I bought this one based on use of a similar Yamaha pedal I've had since I got my DX7 over 25 yrs ago.     Cord could be a little less flimsy, but overall the workmanship is good.

A good pedal is a dream to use.     A bad pedal . . . makes a great paperweight.

Pedal works fine - check keyboard

I have been using this pedal on and off (pun intended) for 10 years.  It's the same one that came with my Yamaha P80 keyboard.  I recently purchased a Yamaha PSR-E413 for my son and the pedal INITIALLY worked in reverse (sustained when pedal was released).  I just turned the power on/off while depressing the pedal and it worked normally after that.  If you are having issues, make sure that it's not the keyboard that's causing the problem.
