Metronome is for grade-school daughter in 2nd year of piano lessons. This metronome is very easy to use and just right as a practice aid. Now her brother wants one of his own.

Comments about Yamaha QT-1 Metronome:
When playing the piano at F or FF level, I can still hear this wonderful metronome. I don't care that it jumps a few bpm; when I am pushing myself to pick up the speed, 4 bpm is just fine. I can easily change the speed in the middle of a piece, if needed. The much more expensive metronome I have been using sits idly by in its glass bowl (an attempt to amplify.) I have already seen improvement in my performance thanks to this little metronome.

Comments about Yamaha QT-1 Metronome:
Reliable, durable. Volume adjusts from quiet to loud. Batteries last a long time. The only negative I've found is that it won't sit well on a sheet music stand (too wide and it rolls if you stand it sideways).
Comments about Yamaha QT-1 Metronome:
This Yamaha QT-1 Metronome was a good buy for me. I bought it 2 and 1/2 years ago and it still works great. I own two of them, one for travel, one for home. I have dropped them countless times, stuffed it into bags with books and other hard objects, and left them running all night. The batteries last literally for many months in these things!I recently tried to replace it, but after going to several gutiar shops, I could not find a metronome that was louder. The reason I tried to replace was because I wanted a metronome that was adjustable in 1 beat-per-minute (bpm) increments. The dial on the bottom of the Yamaha QT-1 goes from 40 to 120 bpm in 4 bpm increments. From 120 to 144 bpm it it graduates in 6 bpm steps. Finally, from 144 to 208, there are 8 bpm steps. My search was fruitless, so I just am just staying with the Yamaha, primarily because it is loud.By the way, it also has a small red light that blinks at the top of its dome, if you want to use it in silent mode.
Comments about Yamaha QT-1 Metronome:
I purchased one of these metronomes about four years ago, and I am very happy with it. It doesn't have an annoying digital chirp like so many others do. It has an adjustable volume control, which I love, and it's ruggedly constructed. My one complaint is about its round shape. I have had a difficult time of using it in scenarios where I have only a music stand on which to set it. It tends to roll around instead of staying where I want it. Other than that, I've been extremely pleased with it and highly recommend it to others!
Comments about Yamaha QT-1 Metronome:
I use this metronome and recommend it to my students because it is accurate. It is calibrated like a standard classical, spring-and-pendulum metronome. For classical repertoire, this calibration is a familiar tempo reference. The concert A is also useful. There are two click tones.
Comments about Yamaha QT-1 Metronome:
I just bought this item & it works exactly as it should. A steady adjustable 'click' with 2 choices of sounds. The click is a digital sound, but sounds very much like a click, as opposed to a digital chirp, which I would find annoying. You DO have to pick it up to make tempo/volume adjustments, but quite honestly, it fits right in the palm of your hand and actually seems quite natural to palm it, flip it, roll the dial with your thumb, abd put it back down. Also, it has a 440Hz reference tone which could be handy.
Comments about Yamaha QT-1 Metronome:
I own this metronome the only thing good about this product is that it is cheap. The Beats per minute go up in intervals of 8 for some reason and it doesnt even go up to 250. If you are looking for a quality metronome, you shouldn't purchase this one I would suggest a Dr. Beat.
Comments about Yamaha QT-1 Metronome:
This is a great metronome for the price. It ticks pleasantly (instead of irritating beeping). Speed and volume are easily adjusted. I've dropped it on the floor a few times, it seems pretty tough. My only quibble is that you have to turn it upside-down to access the controls.
Comments about Yamaha QT-1 Metronome:
The metronome was built quite well and worked exactly like a metronome should. The light on top helped with visibility and ease of use. It doesn't have all the various time signatures, but honestly, you SHOULD be able to count.
