OVERVIEW

Faithfully amplifies your guitar's sound in smaller venues.

The AG60 acoustic guitar amp is capable of handling up to four inputs, making it perfect for performing singer-songwriters, duos, or groups looking for an easy and great-sounding way to amplify multiple instruments and voices without having to cart around multiple pieces of gear.

The AG60 is designed to maximize projection, with its angled-up wedge shape. For warm, full-frequency sound, the cabinet features 2 - 8" studio monitor-style speakers for soft mid and low-frequency response and a coaxial tweeter for ultra-clear, sparkling high end. Channels 1 & 2 each feature two combination inputs which both accept a 1/4'" unbalanced or XLR balanced input, so you can plug in a variety of instrument/microphone combinations. Input level controls accommodate a variety of level needs, and peak indicators warn you when your signal is getting too hot. Three-band EQs with sweepable midrange on each channel make it easy to get a solid instrument tone on one and clear vocal sound on the other.

Also included on each channel is a selectable effects unit with 16 possible effects, including reverbs, delays, and choruses. Additionally, the rear panel has an effects loop for using external effects units with or without the built-in choices. A master input gives you greater control over your tone and output when used in conjunction with the input gain knobs.

For quiet playing, there's an 1/8" stereo headphone jack, and for pre-recorded accompaniment, there's an 1/8" stereo aux input. Finally, rear-panel balanced or unbalanced line outs with independent level control afford you more control when you send your signal to a live sound PA or recording console. The AG60 is a full-featured amp, with plenty of power to handle any venue, and a wide array of tone-shaping options that will give your instrument and voice the exact care they deserve.

I'm basically putting the whole review in the features section. Absolutely great sounding, incredibly versatile amp. I've owned several acoustic amps, electric amps, all kinds of amps includiing the old Behringer acoustic amp- the ACX1000. What a nice looking piece of junk ! I won't even try to describe the problems I had with it. Then I went to a PA great sound of course but a real pain to lug around and setup and frankly overkill for the kind of gigs I do. I got this amp today plugged in a Yamaha A/E, a strat I built myself. a mic and a CD player. Everything sounded GREAT! I don't say that very often about audio gear because as I said I've owned a lot of it some good and more than I want to admit I was disappointed or frustrated with. My strat sounded almost as good as when plugged into my tube amp, not kidding. I was shocked. The CD sound was amazing, I didn't expect it to be that good. Instantly put a smile on my face. Feedback(not from the CD) was very easy to dial out and I was sitting right next to the amp! Plenty of volume and a really rich full tone. My acoustic has a body and a chime to it that I never heard before. Again put a big smile on my face. They say this thing has something called "Fast Tone" technology and I now believe it. I cant wait for my friend to come by plug in his banjo and guitar and mic. I think we'll make money with this amp. I used a Zoom G2 pedal for the strat and a A2 for the acoustic and the damn thing sounded even better! Something very unusual in my experience. This amp must have very high quality preamps. Some people have commented that it's not loud enough. They must be deaf or whatever insturment they're plugging in has output problems. The minute I plugged a mic in and starting singing my old lady said "You sound great". I frankly hadn't heard that for a while it's usually "Could you turn that down a little". I used a little echo/reverb on the vocals and was impressed by myself. The Behringer amp mic channels for instance sounded like crap with uncontrollable feedback, low output and nothing but digital noise on the effects. I love this amp!!

Unpacking the thing, right away I noticed just how heavy it is for such a small form factor. It does look great.
WHATS BAD:
The individual channel input volumes will easily peak out at less then 1/2 way up.(Not much headroom there.)
I don't know if it is the digital effects or just the amp itself but the whole thing is noisy when it's idling.
The XLR outs to board are noisier yet.
At 60 watts I was expecting much much more volume.
It doesn't have a tweeter so trying to get that "sparkle" is really tough.
The effects loop outputs "both" channels.
WHATS GOOD:
Has 4 inputs.
Slant back cabinet.
WILL I KEEP IT?
Undecided as yet.Have another rehearsal tomorrow. It will be the telling.

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I'll put my entire comment here: All the reviews about the great sound are true. Tried it out. Loved it. Super excited. Then plugged it into the system at church. I can't explain how disappointed I am by the hiss coming out of the output jack on the back. Even with nothing plugged into the amp the noisefloor was completely unbearable. When a guitar was plugged in it was worse.

If you're never going to use the direct output you'll love it. Otherwise, steer clear.

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

great product for the price
I first ordered the ag30. The sound was great but the mic and guitar are one the same chanel, So the effects that I like for the guitar was on the mic as well. I also was not crazy about the size; it's kind of big and heavy, so I ordered the fisman loud box mini. The loud box mini was loud and clear, but next to the ag30, I preferred the ag30. The loudbox puts the sound on the edge of the speaker(it seems), but the ag30 seems to have a deep solid sound,(I dont know exactly how to explain it), but the ag30 makes my steel string guitars sound better that anything I ever heard, and it makes my voice sound better too. It sounds more like a performance when I play through the ag30. I sent the fishman loudbox back to musicians friend with their no hasstle return policy. I looked at the size and weight of the ag60 and decided to upgrade the ag30 for the ag60 . I returned the ag30 and paid the difference, musicians friend ,with their excellent customer support team, sent me an ag60. The amp is big and heavy, but not much bigger than the ag30. Now I have 2 channels, I can use different effects for the mic, and different effects for the guitar. I love it. Buy It !
Solid, Inputs are duel 1/4 inch or xlr

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

The multiple inputs with indivdual volume controls are a nice addition.
I have owned almost every acoustic guitar amp made, The AGC60 has the best tone for an acoustic guitar amp more than any other one that I've seen and heard. The sound has a very definitive bass and on the high range's are crisp. If your'e in the market for a outstanding acoustic amp, look no further.

Great amp!!

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this sweet little amp after endless research and trying every stocked amp at every local music store. I was just about ready to buy the Fender Acous jr which is a great sounding amp,but my last stop had these side by side. So, I took a Seagull off the wall, which is what I play, and plugged back and forth, back and forth until I was about ready to pull my hair out. The sound out of this amp is amazing. It's very easy to dial up a great sound whether it's with effects or just the eq. I was able to get a nice deep, yet crisp sound with not much tweaking. It gets pretty loud. I was able to have 2 guitars on one channel and 2 mics on the other and it handled it nicely. The line out is AWESOME. I plug it into my PA with the XLR, and it sounds great. I'm looking forward to using it at my next show (Acoustic solo stuff). I can't speak for it's longevity yet, but it seems to be built like a tank. All in all,,,Great amp, great sound, exceptional value for the money. I am very pleased and I spent less than the fender,,, now i gotta figure out what to spend my extra money on..I'm sure I'll find something.

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I am overall happy with the amp, its features and sound!
Taking it out of the box I did notice a small crack in the cabinet about 1 1/2 inches long. It did take away from the appearance of it a bit. Plugging in my Epiphone PR5 the amp it seemed to perform fine. I really like the dual inputs on each channel. It gets a decent sound. It was lacking on the low end sound, but my guitar is the thin body so it wasn't going to get a deep bass sound anyway. Since I am going to use this amp for small venues it gets plenty loud enough for me.
It seems as well built and constructed as any other amp of its type and size.
I would have to say it was a good value.

I bought this amp from MF about 2 months ago. I have gigged with it using it for guitar and fiddle with a full band and I have used it as a stand alone for a solo act. It works great for both. The peak light does come on alot but I dont notice any distortion until the peak light stays on almost constantly. If you run the master volume up more and cut the volume at the channel you won't have an issue unless you are extremely loud. The effects are nice and easy to use. Everything about this amp is simple to use. For the price you won't find a better acoustic amp.

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this amp from MF; have owned about 2-months. I'm not a working musician, but still have opinions! I bought this amp as a potential replacement for an old Dean Markley KAC-60. This Acoustic AG-60 amp, being newer and with 2 coax speakers vs. 1 bass & 1 tweeter, has a fuller sound and more sparkle. The 4 inputs through 2 channels is very nice since I have two guitars and my wife has a mandolin and violin to plug in. NOW, you'd think that since the AG-60 has more FX that it would shine over the Markley in this regard. HOWEVER, although the Markley only has two FX, chorus and reverb, it allows them to be controlled independently of one another, with each of its two inputs controlled separately, AND they are both foot-switchable. Be warned: this AG-60 has NO FOOTSWITCH CAPABILITY. If you can live with that, and you can find a couple of their pre-programmed FX that you like (as I did), then this AG-60 is definitely a good choice.

        UPDATE:
Had a chance to test this against a couple of other amps in the same price range and wattage.
Have decided to keep this and return the others.
Although I still feel it is slightly under powered it makes my Rainsong jumbo, Gretch resonator, and my vocals sound great.

Actually thinking of buying a second one, so I can run the lineout from the first one into one of the inputs of the second one. Point one at the audience and one back at me for monitoring. Or both at the audience, now you got loud.

        Final thoughts:
Its a bit heavy and a tad underpowered but it really sounds great.

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

Just got this little amp today! I wasn't sure what to expect, but I like it a lot. You can run 2 instruments/mics per channel, with the 2 channels. So you and a friend can play guitar & sing through a channel each. You can probably run more than 2 mics as well, but not sure what the clarity would be like. My buddy & I practiced some vocals with it & it sounded great with 2 mics & a guitar through it at the same time, nice clarity & loud enough. It does peak easily as noted by others, but I didn't get any actual feedback until I cranked up the master vol. really loud as a joke. As far as volume, you could do coffee shop, street corner & small acoustic party style gigs easily with this amp, it also seems loud enough to sing with a drummer, but just don't expect to go on world tour with this as your PA, hahaha. I have to experiment more with volumes & running a pre-amp & mixer to it to see what it's limits are.Effects are decent, has a bunch of reverbs, some echoes, chorus, phaser, flanger. Overall, this is a small simple package, but I found the sound quality to be very nice & the amp solid & easy to use. For the price, I'd say you can't beat it. It's perfect for me because it's like a mini PA for my jam room & I can also use it to play out at small shows. This is brand new, so I will see quality wise how it holds up, I'm hoping it has no major problems or glitches, acoustics are usually pretty solid, but time will tell. Out of the box though, sweet deal.

I frequent a popular music store and go straight to the acoustic room every time. I don't yet own this amp, but I plan on it when i get the money saved up. I plugged in a few different guitars to this amp, and each one sounded pristine and clear, losing only a minute fraction of original sound quality. but, that should be expected somewhat when plugging any guitar in. i messed around with the channels and settings, and after about 1-2 minutes of doing so, found what i was looking for. this amp is something that creates an endless vibe between guitar, amp, and performer, making you more inspired to play/improve. great amp!

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp does a great job in smaller rooms, but as others have noted, the input preamps peak quite easily. It can sound rather boomey when placed on the floor. I set it up on a pub table when available for a much better tone. In light if that, it would have been great to include a speaker stand socket on the bottom.Another wish list item would be phantom power. All in all an affordable good sounding solution.

Comments about AG60 60W 2x8 Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp:

I almost didn't buy this amp because the listed weight is 58 pounds! Unless you are a weight lifter, this is just too heavy to be practical for lugging around to small gigs. But I bought one on sale, and when the UPS man handed it to me and said it was heavy, I knew right away that it was not 58 pounds. It in fact weighs 42 pounds on my scale. This is a portable weight.

I was impressed with how quiet this amp is. I also love the fact that it will accept multiple XLR connections as well as 1/4" jacks. The sound is warm and clear. I really haven't had a chance to give it a proper workout yet, but I wanted to write this review for anyone sitting on the fence because of the advertised weight. What a serious marketing error! This is a great amp for someone who doesn't want to carry around a PA system for smaller venues. It tilts back to project the sound up and out. It also has a line out. What is missing is phantom power. This would have been a nice feature for use with a condenser mic. This is a discontinued item, so if you find one at a discounted price, you'll be getting a lot for your money.

Did an in store comparison and this model and brand sounded better to me than other more popular/expensive brands. A heavy cabinet makes a good sound. Very balanced and plenty of controls to dial in your own sound.
