Bought for my 9 yr old son for his birthday, on the advice of Musicians Friend (who have given consistently great advice in the past) and his bass teacher. Great sound, plenty loud, very versatile. In my opinion a great value. I also bought the warranty, with encouragement from MF, and afterward mentioned that to his teacher who thought it was a great idea (especially for an enthusiastic 9 year old).

Now, I'm not what you would call an expert when it comes to amps, but I definitely have experience with using a few different brands for the years I've been playing; Fender, Peavey, Behringer, Yamaha, etc... But of all that I've had, this Acoustic amp has been most disappointing. I hope that it is just manufacturer defect, but the thing only lasted 2 months before it stopped making sound at all. A month and a half in it started crackling and cutting out intermittently, and it got worse and worse until it stopped working completely. Cycling on and off used to fix it, but that doesn't anymore either. Sounded OK while it did work, but didn't work for long. I never turned the gain up past half and never brought the volume near its max, so unless there's something I'm completely misunderstanding, which I don't believe is the case since I've never blown any other amps I've used, the manufacturer is at fault for giving me a bad amp. Hoping to have them replace it for me soon.

Comments about Acoustic B100mkII 100W Bass Combo Amp:

This amp just has so much going for it. Paired with a Sansamp DI bass this beauty shines. Only trouble is the truth behind the tolex. When I removed the bottom pegs to possibly install casters, I found what looked to be shoe dirt. Then again, I had no mud on my shoes. Looked twice and this was coming from the front peg hole. Very concerning. Had to redrill that peg hole. Pure mud. The amp sounds great. But if this thing should ever take a drop I believe it's round 1 out. No doubt about it. Beware. Be very careful.
This amp was an open box buy. Great shape, no instructions. Super price.

Comments about Acoustic B100mkII 100W Bass Combo Amp:

Really Great Bass Amp. Very musical I can't dial in a bad setting. On the heavy side but I'll deal with it in exchange for the power and quality sound. Highly recommended and great value for the money. I mean it's basically the cost of a pedal.... Also was very surprised with the quality distortion on board. Just for fun I plugged in a Resonator tuned in G and it sounded awesome as well. You can't go wrong with this Amp. And Led Zeppelin used Acoustic Bass Amplifiers!!

Comments about Acoustic B100mkII 100W Bass Combo Amp:

I am without question a novice player, but I can tell this is a great amp. It's got power, it's easy to use and it was extremely affordable. The only problem I've had is portability; it gets heavy even on a short trip. I tried putting casters on it but haven't figured out the best way to effectively attach them. Also some musician friends advised against it because you have to drill into the cabinet, which they said could ruin the acoustics. But other than transport, I love this thing. Get it while you can.

A great amp so far. I haven't had a chance to push it to hard yet, but so far seems to be quite nice for rehearsal with guitar and drums. Nice sound!

Comments about Acoustic B100mkII 100W Bass Combo Amp:

The bass amp is very simple and easy to use. Powerful enough to keep up rehearsals and small gig. In my opinion, the sound quality is not too far from expensive amps
The areas need to be improved on this amp is the weight and the cabinet material, this amp is weighing 50lbs ( i think) and the cabinet is made of MDF

        Personal Customization:
Added a small horn tweeter and 3.5k crossover network ....... WALAAA!

I bought this amp to go along with an Acoustic B30. Since having the B100 I haven't even played through the B30. I'll probably use the B100 as my main amp for practice, etc.

Comments about Acoustic B100mkII 100W Bass Combo Amp:

This is a great sounding amp with plenty of EQ options for dialing in good tone. It sounds great with both my jazz and precision basses. Very warm and punchy, and can be made bright enough for slap tones. In addition to the 4 band EQ there is a notch filter and shape button that lets you get very precise in dialing in the sound for a particular bass or room. I have flatwounds on my precision and it gives a great low end punch that's perfect for classic rock, and I have roundwounds on the jazz bass and I can range from bright and articulate to very warm and punchy. The distortion feature is more useful than I thought it would be. Adding just a touch fattens the tone and gives it a little edge. Adding more pushes it into a lot of harmonics which might be useful for cutting through a dense mix.
I haven't gigged with it yet, but with the XLR direct out it should be a fine bass monitor while you send your signal to the sound system. For smaller venues it should be fine on it's own. It can get quite loud.
As an added bonus, for electric guitar I use a Fender Vibro-Champ which has great tone but only an 8" speaker, so it lacks low end. Adding this amp to it, using the line out on the Fender into the instrument in on the Acoustic, fills out the low end very nicely while retaining the Fender sound. I haven't had any trouble matching gain levels because the Acoustic has a -10db pad and gain knob.

I am glad that I bought the B100 before the mkII was added to the model number because it means that one input was taken away. The dual input was a terrific feature. Otherwise, the amp. is a very good value, as are all of the Acoustic brand line of amps.
