Bought for my 9 yr old son for his birthday, on the advice of Musicians Friend (who have given consistently great advice in the past) and his bass teacher. Great sound, plenty loud, very versatile. In my opinion a great value. I also bought the warranty, with encouragement from MF, and afterward mentioned that to his teacher who thought it was a great idea (especially for an enthusiastic 9 year old).

I use the amp for my Yamaha DTX-500K Electronic Drum kit and at low volume the amp sounds really good but from 75% volume on up,the speaker produces a mid-range distortion/vibration that sounds terrible. I would not recommend using this amp with an Electronic Drum Kit unless its for practice only or only use on-stage "If" you use the Direct Out to send the signal to the Main mixing board. This amp/speaker combination produces distortion/vibration at high volume levels~!

Comments about Acoustic B100mkII 100W Bass Combo Amp:

The bass amp is very simple and easy to use. Powerful enough to keep up rehearsals and small gig. In my opinion, the sound quality is not too far from expensive amps
The areas need to be improved on this amp is the weight and the cabinet material, this amp is weighing 50lbs ( i think) and the cabinet is made of MDF

      Personal Customization:
Added a small horn tweeter and 3.5k crossover network ....... WALAAA!

Comments about Acoustic B100mkII 100W Bass Combo Amp:

I bought this amp to go along with an Acoustic B30. Since having the B100 I haven't even played through the B30. I'll probably use the B100 as my main amp for practice, etc.

Comments about Acoustic B100mkII 100W Bass Combo Amp:

This is a great sounding amp with plenty of EQ options for dialing in good tone. It sounds great with both my jazz and precision basses. Very warm and punchy, and can be made bright enough for slap tones. In addition to the 4 band EQ there is a notch filter and shape button that lets you get very precise in dialing in the sound for a particular bass or room. I have flatwounds on my precision and it gives a great low end punch that's perfect for classic rock, and I have roundwounds on the jazz bass and I can range from bright and articulate to very warm and punchy. The distortion feature is more useful than I thought it would be. Adding just a touch fattens the tone and gives it a little edge. Adding more pushes it into a lot of harmonics which might be useful for cutting through a dense mix.
I haven't gigged with it yet, but with the XLR direct out it should be a fine bass monitor while you send your signal to the sound system. For smaller venues it should be fine on it's own. It can get quite loud.
As an added bonus, for electric guitar I use a Fender Vibro-Champ which has great tone but only an 8" speaker, so it lacks low end. Adding this amp to it, using the line out on the Fender into the instrument in on the Acoustic, fills out the low end very nicely while retaining the Fender sound. I haven't had any trouble matching gain levels because the Acoustic has a -10db pad and gain knob.

I am glad that I bought the B100 before the mkII was added to the model number because it means that one input was taken away. The dual input was a terrific feature. Otherwise, the amp. is a very good value, as are all of the Acoustic brand line of amps.

This is a great ax, the sale price was incredible, and the personal attention was over the top. Cons: no cover, no wheels. C'Mon, way too heavy and oddly shaped not to have wheels. No matter, I bought a set and got 'em on. And why no cover? I'm working on that one. Been playing a few days, and a friend stopped by today and tweaked it a bit. Couldn't ask for more for an elec bass/bass.

Comments about Acoustic B100mkII 100W Bass Combo Amp:

I purchased the Acoustic B100MkII to replace an aging Peavey TNT 130, my initial reaction to the sound of the B100mkII was not very good. At low volume the amp sounded ok, but at higher volume there was a fluttering sound coming out of the speaker box. It was driving me crazy, so I pulled the 15" speaker out. This amp is a sealed cab, no ports. I noticed a dime size hole where the wires for the speaker come through, with the cab sealed it is forcing all the air through this dime size hole. I put a strip of gorilla tape over the hole and put more insulation on the inside top and bottom of the speaker box. Problem solved, now the B100MKII thumps like it should. While I had the speaker out the cab is made with MDF, it has internal bracing and it looks like it is all glued together. There is sound insulation on the sides and back but not the top and bottom?? The magnet on the speaker looked about a 56oz with the positive and negative wire leads soldered on the speaker tabs.
My bass guitar is a peavey foundation with passive pickups. I put the tone control knobs at the 12:00 position and the gain knob all the way clockwise and slowly raised the volume knob to about the 1:00 position and the clip light never came on. This is more volume than I will ever use at rehersal or at a small club. I settled with the tone conrol knobs at about the 2 to 3 oclock position. This gave a good solid punch and good low end. Plus it has a XLR with a level knob for external power amps or mixing board use. I did not try the overdrive channel, Im to old school to use so other reviewers are going to have to fill that in. The control knobs feel solid but I did have to give all the screws that hold the chasis and chrome corners extra turns with a philips head screwdriver. This amp is made in China and I think they rush the building of these amps. The tone is better than my Peavey TNT 130, but time will tell if the reliability is as good as my 30 year old USA made Peavey TNT.

basically purchased for around home and small venue use. Excellent value for the money and fits the bill just as I was hoping for. If I were to put anything for a con, it would just be that I expected a little more power--even with the overdrive on, I'm needing AT LEAST half-way gain and half-way volume. The sound is good but Im not real comfortable "pushing" my equipment. As I said, for the money it's worth it!
