Before purchase, I read every single review of bass amps in 10W & 15W sizes, plus many reviews of larger amps. I finally settled on this amp. After owning & using the B15 amp for 2 months, I'm GLAD I chose this. The switches & knobs are excellent. The sound quality is excellent. I use it for practice both with my Fender JP90 & my Ibanez SR406. Both sound great through this amp. The overdrive is great, allowing me to go anywhere from sweet & clean to raw & dirty. The volume at 1/2 scale is enough to shake my home - and, it still sounds good that way. The cabinet is very sturdy, and the strap seems both convenient & durable. The appearance is attractive, the layout of controls is excellent, & I really like the mellow purple light of the power switch. (It's just pleasing to me.) The price was affordable despite my limited budget. It was a great deal, for this price. If I ever hear anyone saying they're thinking about buying a bass practice amp, I'll wholeheartedly recommend this one. I'm convinced I made the best possible choice.

I wanted a small practice amp to practice in the garage without shaking the whole house so I purchased this amp based on so many positive reviews. I realize that it's a low-powered practice amp, but the sound quality is terrible. My hope was that the 10" speaker would still provide warm, deep bass but it's really just a muddy mid-range tone and if I turn the bass up too much on the EQ, the speaker will distort. I find myself still dragging out my 4x10 cabinet and simply turning down the volume on my bass when practicing while this little amp just sits on a shelf unused. I would recommend spending a little more money and getting something a little nicer.

I bought this for a practice amp mostly to use with the headphone Jack and it works great the amp itself sounds great as well. The overdrive is more than enough about three quarters is perfect for me. So in conclusion this amp works as good as I hoped.

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

The Acoustic B15 is a perfect small application Bass Combo for practice and limited live engagements where volume is not a huge factor. At 15 watts and a 10 inch speaker it has a fair amount of punch for it's price point. The speaker can handle low volume but starts to distort/rattle when pushed. It is a great value and somewhat better than it's competition with maybe the exception of the portable Harke line. Acoustic was once the leader in Bass Amplification in the 60's and early seventies. The unit appears well built similar to the Ampegs. The sound is pure Acoustic with that clear "thump" driving tone. For 15 watts it is a pretty good choice compared to the others. I use it for remote locations mostly for practice as it is very portable and not a back breaker to carry. The overdrive is cool, however not that powerful enough to shake any windows. The only change I would recommend to Acoustic is to add an extension speaker output jack and beef up the speaker.

THIS IS A VERY NICE WELL BUILT LITTLE AMP. I HAVE OTHER BASS AMPS BUT AT MY AGE, 80, ARE HEAVYER THAT I WANT TO TRANSPORT AROUND. THIS IS SMALL AND LIGHT. I HOPE WHEN MICED INTO THE SOUND BOARD I CAN ADD A LITTLE MORE LOW END AND HAVE WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR. I HAVEN'T HAD TO TRY THAT OUT AS OF YET. I DO WISH THAT IT HAD A LINE OUT HOWEVER. I WAS IMPRESSED AT THE GOOD SOUND QUALITY THIS AMP PUTS OUT. DON'T EXPECT TO GET THE DEPTH OF A PEAVEY 15 INCH, THAT WON'T HAPPEN. I LIKED IT WITH MY BASS GUITAR AND WAS MORE SURPRISED AT THE SOUND I GOT OT OF IT WHEN PLAYING MY STRAT THROUGH IT. I WOULD SAY BUY ONE AS IT IS A GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT.

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

I got this on STOTD and it's an insane value. Full disclosure: I'm a metal guitarist with somewhat limited bass skills. I use it for home recording. I record my solo music, and also demos for my band, using a very basic home studio setup. I am on a tight budget. This little amp has a nice tone! The "Shape" button is basically a compressor effect and gives it a really nice tight compressed sound. You also have 3 EQ knobs, plus overdrive, and overdrive level controls. There are a lot of tones in this amp. Sadly, there's no line out, which is a flaw. But I do get good recorded tones out of it using a mic. I would not bring this to a pro studio session, don't get me wrong, but for the price it's a sweet little beasty. Much as it works great for me, be advised the B15 is NOT loud enough for band practice or shows, not even close! Bottom line: good tone, great value, good for bedroom practice or home recording.
