Before purchase, I read every single review of bass amps in 10W & 15W sizes, plus many reviews of larger amps. I finally settled on this amp. After owning & using the B15 amp for 2 months, I'm GLAD I chose this. The switches & knobs are excellent. The sound quality is excellent. I use it for practice both with my Fender JP90 & my Ibanez SR406. Both sound great through this amp. The overdrive is great, allowing me to go anywhere from sweet & clean to raw & dirty. The volume at 1/2 scale is enough to shake my home - and, it still sounds good that way. The cabinet is very sturdy, and the strap seems both convenient & durable. The appearance is attractive, the layout of controls is excellent, & I really like the mellow purple light of the power switch. (It's just pleasing to me.) The price was affordable despite my limited budget. It was a great deal, for this price. If I ever hear anyone saying they're thinking about buying a bass practice amp, I'll wholeheartedly recommend this one. I'm convinced I made the best possible choice.

I wanted a small practice amp to practice in the garage without shaking the whole house so I purchased this amp based on so many positive reviews. I realize that it's a low-powered practice amp, but the sound quality is terrible. My hope was that the 10" speaker would still provide warm, deep bass but it's really just a muddy mid-range tone and if I turn the bass up too much on the EQ, the speaker will distort. I find myself still dragging out my 4x10 cabinet and simply turning down the volume on my bass when practicing while this little amp just sits on a shelf unused. I would recommend spending a little more money and getting something a little nicer.

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

this amp is awesome. offers everything some of the bigger guys do in a smaller easy to afford combo. like my teacher once told me its better to have a bigger speaker with less watts than a smaller speaker with more simply cause the bigger speaker will move more air with less power. so i'd probably take this over any of the other practice amps in the price range since they only offer you a 8" speaker and this guy has a 10" along with a buit in comp. and the distortion, what more could you ask for in this price range? tuners are nice but u can pick up one anywhere for cheap. way to go acoustic

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

Was needing a 15 watt practice amp. This B15 has a 10 inch speaker. Compared it to many other 15 watt bass amps and the 10 inch speaker makes all of the difference. It has the depth, tone & growl you would expect from a much larger amp.

    Very pleased with this purchase.

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

Had this amp for two weeks. Have used it for home practice and am VERY pleased with it for that use: at moderate volumes, the sound is excellent.
The band I'm in practiced "partially unplugged": the singer is unmiked, the guitarist uses a tiny Roland Cube, and I (bass) play through a very small practice amp, and the drummer uses brushes. I had been using a Roland Cube 30/12", and only needed to run the volume up to 3-4 to fit in.
I feel that this amp will require pushing to the upper ends of the power range to fit into this sound scanario; I think it will have enough power to serve its' purpose, but in a feisty jam, it's going to be "pushed" and the sound quality breaks up.
But when played within reasonable volume/power requirements, this amp sounds fantastic. It's a great value at it's price, and compares very favorably to comparable amps.

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

I needed a little bass amp for home studio recording and for playing around the house with friends. This little amp exceeded my expectations in every way possible. I was surprised at how loud it can get. I have not tried it in any performance setting, but that's not really what it's for -- although if you were set up in a little acoustic gig, it would probably suffice. Great tone. I bought it partially based on the other positive reviews here -- I had the same experience.

I had high expectations for this amp. I own several amps from practice amps to gigging rigs. i just fried my orange crush bx25 so I needed a small practice amp that I can travel with for small room practices. Really good low end. This amp fit the bill. It will take a novice some time to dial in a proper sound, but this amp is above and beyond any 15 watt amp in its class. It features an overdrive, and a shape button. You will have to play with it to figure out but awesome features. Really killer tone too. Buy this! You will not regret it

I needed a practice amp to run my old"Fender squire"bass through. This seemed like the best amp for the money.I wanted a 10" speaker, because 8 " speakers'just do not have the compression of a ten,nor the bottom.I really like this amp.It is made well, looks' good and sounds' great!I recently got together with my family and my Nephew played through this rig, while I played acoustic guitar with my brother and cousin. The bass sounded great, perfect amp for a gig like this!Could be used for a bigger gig,but you might want to go to a bigger amp for a drum, guitar and bass band!Still ,this amp puts' out some sound! : )

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

This is a terrific bass amp. It is pretty full featured, easy to use, and has a great sound. The workmanship is first class, and all controls feel substantial and solid. The 10" speaker is full and clear, with a great warmth to it. My favorite feature is the "shape" button, which allows me to go from a more modern sound to a dry, woody, almost upright bass type sound, with the flick of a switch.

The overdrive seems to do little until it is turned up quite a bit, but has a very pleasing sound that you could add to a lot of songs. It really serves up a nice bit of grit.

This is a well designed, easy to use, great sounding small bass amp, with a nice variety of sounds. You can't go wrong with the B15.

Comments about Acoustic B15 15W Bass Combo Amp:

I ordered this amp on sale at MF just to use with my little Squire Jaguar Bass around home and at jam sessions, not expecting much for the money invested. But, on hooking it up the little guy actually sounds like a much bigger amp, probably due to the 10" speaker instead of the usual 8" at this price point in a practice amp. Surprising amount of power for it's size, and the EQ knobs on the front really help with the low end and help shape the sound a lot.
It also seems to be built like a tank, with a closed back and good-quality hardware (knobs, cabinet, etc.) and I really am impressed with the metal corner protectors and the nice sturdy handle. Neat-looking grill cloth and weighs in at around 23 lbs. so easy to carry from home and back.
I imagine that it probably has enough power to use in small venues like coffee shops and smaller rooms, but don't expect this unit to work in a band situation (especially with drums) as that is asking a lot of this little guy. I did notice that the speaker can be over-driven pretty easily and distorts at high gain levels, but what do you expect for the money? You have to be realistic and don't expect this amp to sound like a 100-watt stack because it's just not big enough. But, for a decent practice amp for home use or even to gig with in small rooms you simply can't beat this little guy - - I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone!!
By the way, with the sound-shaping controls available on this unit, it doubles as a dandy keyboard amp, too. Love the nice blue lighted toggle switch - - classy!! Get you one before the price goes up!!
