Acoustic

A seriously powerful amp for serious bassists.

The Acoustic B200H professional head is designed for large club and live applications where it will fill any stage with depth and definition. Used in conjunction with the B115 and/or B410 enclosures, the B200H will easily drive either one or two cabinets in any combination of your choice.

The two bass inputs are designed to accommodate both active and passive bass instruments while the Gain and Volume controls give you complete control over the character of your tone. Increase the gain for some old school rock tones, or lower it and turn up the volume for great clean, classic or funk tones. The preamp includes a very natural and tube-like compression as well as a harmonically rich distortion circuit, which keeps your tone musical—even at high volume levels. The B200H also includes a notch filter to tailor your mids, and a six-band EQ for exact control over every nuance of your bass's tone.

Rear panel features include a parallel Effects Loop, and XLR balanced Line Out with Level Control and Ground Lift. The two speaker output jacks allow you to directly connect to each enclosure (such as the B115 and/or B410) to maximize your tone and power.

The heritage of Acoustic comes through loud and clear in the B200H—a seriously professional stage head for serious bassists.

Features:

With the EQ on there you can make any sound you could possibly want.

Quality:

So far no problems.

Value:

For the tone quality this amp is worth 2 or 3 times the price.

Overall:

I play it through a fender rumble 4x10 with the tweeter off and a fender jazz bass.  Incredible.

Been playing bass for a while, got this amp and i must say it is fantastic. The booklet that comes with it has a guide to tones you can set with the knobs and it has a good clean sound to it as well. It has a very heavy sound to it and I frequently have my lower frequency up a little for a fatter sound. But i love the amp, I recommend it.

Great tone, clean looks

| Review By: Rockin' Ron | 4 months, 2 weeks ago

Features:

I was looking for a good, basic amp to replace a 24 yr old GK 200 RB bass head. I had the opportunity to roadtest this amp while in Vegas and I was duly impressed. The 6 band EQ was a nice improvement over the 4 band I had and the 'notch' was a nice balance of the tone produced. There's nothing fancy here - just pure tone and 200w of drive to push it - nice.

Quality:

Upon opening the box, my new B200 looked fine and appeared clean and ready to go. Once in the studio, I hooked up my vintage Tele bass and put the amp through its paces. It took all my Tele could dish out without a single problem. However, you should be aware that I ran it out thru my monitor system, so I don't know how it handles thru a real cabinet. That will come in a later review.

Value:

The Acoustic B200h seems to be a real value for the buy - true bang for your hard earned buck.  I saved a ton of green in this deal! I'll be working it over the next few weeks to see just much of a bargain I got here.

Overall:

Overall, the B200h appears solid, sounds great, and can handle the preliminary workings I have thrown it so far. I plan to incorporate it into a secondary bass rig between a new pedal and a new 5 string I'm hoping to acquire soon. I'll give another review of it later after I've had a chance to really work it over musically. Also, the only reason the numbers are so low is because I haven't had it long enough to really see what it can do. If you're looking for a good basic bass amp, this may do it for you.

Well i got my second one of these after getting the first one that blew out 5 minutes within receiving it, and now that one blew out roughly 4 months of getting it. If you want a mediocre amp that breaks really easily this is definitely the right one for you.
