Comments about Acoustic B450mkII 450W Bass Combo Amp:

Just started playing bass but have played guitar for 15+ years. So far seems like a good quality amp combo. I'm using it with a 15" cabinet as well and it pushes everything just fine...Very loud! Would be ok for small gigs. Much more than you need for a home set up unless you can play loud often. I am happy so far, I would buy this combo again.

Comments about Acoustic B450mkII 450W Bass Combo Amp:

I was thinking of getting an affordable, loud amp head. But this combo was a great deal, and I was hooked by the 2 x 10" speakers. It's very smooth and punchy, with growling overdrive and easy controls -- which I've always liked about Acoustic-brand gear. It's a loud amp, and I wouldn't need more than a 15" extension cab if I wanted to get even louder. Plenty of amp here.

Comments about Acoustic B450mkII 450W Bass Combo Amp:

This amp is loud enough to stand out against a Mesa Triple Rec. head in a metal band. It sits nicely with the drums and has more than enough power. The option to add speakers and actually drive them, is nice. The amp also quiets down and mellows out to give you more sedate tones. You can have the Motown sound. You can have a slap n pop Jazz bass sound. You can have distorted metal bass.
And you can have it with enough power to gig in larger venues or small open jams.

Buy casters for it though because this thing is every bit of 80lbs (36kg).

Comments about Acoustic B450mkII 450W Bass Combo Amp:

I really like the sound of this Amp, and it is loud enough for all the GiGs I have played with it, outside and inside. Now Ill tell you why It only gets two stars, and that's really to bad. The first B 450 I had lasted about 1 year, and it took a dive. Luckily @ rehearsal. I had to send it back, and that costed 98 , plus packaging. They sent me a brand new one and that made me happy again. Then about 2 years later I start to get a weird buzz From G down to B (Top String on 4 string) . I know you are thinking bass guitar right now, and that is what I checked first. I have a brand new High end fender bass by the way. Then I took the amp apart and re-glued all the seams, put the whole thing back together, and still had the buzz From G down to B. This amp sounds beautiful every where else. Very strange you say, well I said that too. Then I got on a bass talk sight, and someone said, the speaker connectors where lose, and to solder on some new ones. I thought to myself; man those connectors where on there so tight, I thought they would break when I took the speakers out to check them, and re glue the seams in the cabinet. But right now what do I got to lose. I soldered the spades right to the speaker jacks, and put it back together, and the buzz is gone, and to amp sounds beautiful again. It was an easy fix so lets hope nothing go's wrong with this amp for a very long time now. I take care of my equipment and have had covers made and casters on them. I never roll them on rough surfaces and take care not to bang things around. Like I said, I love the sound of this amp, and for the price you cant beat it. Hopefully you'll get one that last and last. As for me the next up grade I do the head will be separate from the cabinet what ever I buy.

Comments about Acoustic B450mkII 450W Bass Combo Amp:

This is one kicking good size amp. I purchased the 410 Cabinet and now I have no problem at playing any gig. I will not be over powered by my bud on his guitar. Love the punch and bottom end. Might add the 1-15 cabinet just for more depth. I love it I play Les Paul Bass and a Rickenbacker does great with either one.

Comments about Acoustic B450mkII 450W Bass Combo Amp:

Great sounding amp. Completely blown away by the punch and power of this thing. I rarely get it turn up past 12 o'clock, so plenty of headroom. Generally I keep the gain and volume at around 10 o'clock and the EQ straight up and play with either a Fender Jazz or an old Peavey T-40. Had some issues with hiss, but I believe that was because I had a pedal power supply plugged into the same outlet. Fixed with a power strip. I use it at church, so some of the stage lights could have come into play there too.
There's plenty of EQ control built in that I like. The built in compressor isn't bad and I like that it has a mute switch. If you use an active bass, there's a -10dB pad, which I like better than having a separate input for actives. It's also a perfect hight to sit on top of during practice (I play a T-40 a lot. It gets heavy. This feature is important to me. lol)
Overall, a great sounding amp and very well built.
