Well, I have a few things I would change if I were the people at acoustic, but the amp sounds sooo good and loud enuff to play any gig.....1st. though I would in the future have separate Delay and chorus controls and lastly either include or make available a 2 button footswitch that goes with the amp...I do like the fact that the amp isn't too heavy and is 112 combo. And that it is loud...the tone is really great, I had some years ago, a Gibson L5 100 watt combo that I loved but it finally crapped out and was just not repairable which dissapointed me greatly. But this amp tone wise reminds of the old L5 it made me very happy! The reverb is pretty good on this amp...the delay though is great and the chorus is ok too...but to get enuff delay with chorus, because they are adjusted with the same knob, you have way too much chorus and can't use both together. So I will buy a separate chorus pedal and use the delay alone. But don't get me wrong, as a stand alone amp this Acoustic is a winner for loudness and tone, it just sounds sooo good! It definately is worth the street price they're asking...so overall I'm happy with my choice!
100 watts, reverb, delay and chorus. 2 channels.
I give it a 10 because the warm but mean tone of this amp is absolutely great, especially at this price range.
Well as I said b4, An amp that has this much power and tone at this price range really can't be beat.

My G100FX came in yesterday. I was fortunate enough to catch the $111.99 deal at MF.Does not look too cheap. There is a definite buzz when playing a solid G note on the low E string and if you really force an A you a buzz in a different spot. It's the cabinet facade resonating and vibrating against the control panel. Easily solved with rubber tape or silicone bumpers inside between the facade and control panel. The reverb is a tiny little unit about 7" in length. The springs must be tight because the unit almost sounds digital. The delay isn't bad. The chorus is OK.I didn't buy the amp for high gain sounds. So, for the lead channel, my favorite tone is to turn down the gain to 1 and volume to 12 o'clock position. The Rhythm channel is nice and clean and the tone stack is very tweakable. I could take or leave the mid cut feature. It's kind of meh to me.The speaker holds this amp back. This could be because it is so new. I'll keep the speaker for a while to see how it develops with use. I suspect there is a little cone distortion. I don't think it's very efficient. I am already thinking a WGS 12" G12C/S will do the trick. Or an Eminence Legend. The amp is rated at 60 watts with an 8ohm speaker. When you add an external 8ohm cabinet it is added in parallel. So, the wattage rating supposedly increases to 100 at 4ohms.My Black Top Strat is dark and luscious through it. It pulls up rich dark bluesy/jazzy tones on the neck pickup. Other combinations using the 5 way switch gets into classic 70's tones (Kind of. Again, I think the speaker is at play here. My Agile 3100 single cut with Manlius Quiet Goats gets a range of tones all the way to sparkly Tele like sounds. The Goats aren't very high impedance and the magnets aren't as strong as those on the Strat. It doesn't drive the amp nearly as hard.Comments for Acoustic, Musician's Friend and [@] for next version:Solve the cabinet issue.Improve the reverb.Consider an improved speaker (Eminence makes a good one for Kutsom)

More than your money's worth of tone!

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G100FX 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

The only con is that my amp is a little noisy sometimes but it is new and we will see!
I was using a Fender Mustang II for the digital options and after a looong time of tweaking i got great tone but was not loud enough for bar gigs. Instead of getting the 100 watt model (Mustang III) I tried the new Acoustic Lead series.
I am so glad I did! I used an Acoustic 150 in the 70's while in a Funk R&B band and it rocked. The new G100fx rocks just as hard.
I got great tone right out of the box! No tweaking just great tone. I am very simple in my set up, just an Ibanez TS9 and a Crybaby but I was able to get all kinds of Jazz, Blues and Rock tones with just those pedals.
This amp is a must buy! It sounds so much better than most (Chinese) solid state amps, even Fender and Line 6.
Oh yeah, and did I mention LOUD? I can barely go past 1 in my apt before my neighbors are knocking.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G100FX 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I really like this amp...dare I say I'm a seasoned pro with 48 years of gigs under my belt? I've used quite a few different amps over the years and nothing can equal the 'bang per buck' pricing on this amp. I know a lot of players are overly obsessed with tube amps these days; I'm not and have never been. The word 'boutique' belongs to a women's clothing store and not some fancy music store that sells tube amps. You really need to take a serious look at this solid state gem. I can wring any tone I need to get out of it; I play everything from Blues to Country, Classic Rock and Smooth Jazz and my acoustics as well as my Strat, Tele and Carvin axes all sound great into this amp. I've not yet had a chance to try my pedal steel but I'm sure I'll be pleasantly surprised. My only nitpicks are these> no included footswitch and in a quiet setting, the chorus is noisy, however not really noticeable in a live and loud stage setting. It would also be nice to have a time adjustment on the delay, but I can live with this nitpicks; that said, I'm giving it a 4 star only because of those issues. I like this amp so much overall, that I just ordered the little brother to the G100 yesterday! It's too bad these amps can't be made in the USA...but what is these days? Check out Acoustic amps..you'll be glad you did!

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G100FX 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I love this amp. It's compact, sounds great and It looks good. My only bug about it is no footswitch was included and the speaker does not handle 100 watts at 4 ohms. It's a 60 watt 8ohm speaker installed.I have to roll the bass off when playing low tones for the speaker breaks up at moderate volume. I was told that adding an extended cabinet the unit would then parallel to 4ohms 100 watts. The only other thing I noticed was the chorus buzzes when the set is quiet.BUt I mostly use a pedal board for my effects.Besides those issues for the money It's great and built fairly well.SOunds good in rehersal and Live performances. It is strong enough to go live without it being miked up in small to medium venues . THink I 'll get the 120 for larger venues. I love Acoustic...Thank YOu for a great amp at a great value.....

Great amp! Bought it for my guitar but has such a clean sound I can play my violin through it and sounds great. I've played through lots of amps over the years(Fender Twin, old Ampeg tube, Fishman, Peavey, etc.) and this is the best amp for the money.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G100FX 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Good tone in a value priced solid state guitar amp. The effects are not the best in that you can't adjust the delay time and I'm hearing some distortion in the echo even when playing clean and at low volume. The chorus is pretty much on or off, no adjustment there for speed or depth. Plan on using pedals for your FX requirements with this amp. It seems to take pedals well. Overall I'm happy with it as a basic amp. It has nice clean tones through the rhythm channel and the lead channel can add more gain ranging from blues to classic rock crunch and higher gain tones. The three band EQ enables a wide variety of tones. I haven't used this for rehearsal with my band yet but I expect it would keep up with drums and bass just fine. It's loud enough that it would probably be ok for gigs in a smaller room even without mic'ing the amp through the PA. This would be a great amp for somebody just getting started and is certainly usable for the more serious player. It's not the holy grail of guitar tone but it is a decent amp and sounds fine.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G100FX 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I think where this amp shines is in the fact you have to push it a bit to get over the drums. Gives the clean a real nice edge and bit of compression. Once you find the sweet spot the overdrive channel is not to bad. Very usable as a backup if your pedals stop working. Only issue I found is I could not find a compromise on the EQ to use for both channels. So I hooked in my pedal board and I was shocked how well this amp likes them. Also if you drop the distortion gain to zero and set the volume for lead boost it works pretty sweet, a bit mid rangey but cuts just fine. The reverb is ok but not great. Delay is set at a speed that will work for most stuff. Chorus is noisey and a bit to strong for me. Only thing on this amp I find bad. The chorus with reverb is marginal. The chorus with delay is useless. Since I am using pedals I'm just using a touch of verb on the amp. Overall I would gig with this amp but still have a backup as with most this new stuff you just don't know when it will stop working. So this is the way I see this amp compared to other major solid state brands. The clean is better than Peavey/Marshall but not quite Fender or Roland. The distortion is better than Marshall/Crate/Fender but not quite the Peavey Bandit. So there is my two cents folks.. you can keep the change. Rock on!

There was a bad midrange pot on the 1st one of these that MF sent me, but they quickly supplied a replacement, which seems fully functional. Plenty of power for a fusion guitarist fussy about his gear, who also favorably compared the feel of this unit to his tube-powered Mesa of many times the price.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G100FX 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Okay, let's get this straight. It's not a tube amp, right? I'm just getting back into amps after many years of being in big bands and going direct. So, in a way, it's all new to me. Again.

That said, I went to my local GC to audition amps. Took my trusty FrankenStrat. There's the lineup of amps in that long cabinet, and I took a look at the Bad Cat amp. Nice price, tube, uh-huh. But, just down the row was an Acoustic G100 FX. So, thought I'd plug into it.

Had a great time playing through this amp. Plenty loud for club gigs, even at 60w @ 8 ohms. Noticed it even had a little bit of the compression/push-back feel of a tube amp. Not sure how they do that, but, yeah. The guys that worked there came around to check out what I was doing, and had thought I was playing through the Bad Cat. Cool, eh? So, this little solid-state thing sounded pretty good to my ears, and the price point was obviously NOT in the same category as something with valves. I'm not a tube snob - for live work, there are benefits to solid-state. Less delicate, no warm-up, etc. So this is my new go-to amp for studio and stage.

Now I will say, an amp like this is not going to sport a high-quality speaker. It just can't at this price point. So I happened to have a couple of Eminence Delta Pro 12s sitting around. Popped one of them into this baby. VERY nice. And all for less than about 4 C-notes, street.

What about that 60-watt, 8-ohm thing? Well, I went back and bought one of the Acoustic G35 FX amps, and put the other Delta pro in there. Closed the back with plywood, and put a jack for the speaker, and to the amp. Now I use this as a (sort of) matching extension cab, with the option of hooking the amp back up to the speaker for either stereo use, or as a backup or practice amp.

I'm a happy guitar guy. Love these little Acoustic amps - with a little tweaking (and especially if you are a pedalboard user), this is a great setup.

Although it's listed at 100 watt into 4 ohms acoustic puts in a 8 ohm speaker so it's probably between 50 - 70 watts. The chorus/delay is very limited. I recommend use of stomp boxes with this amp. Very nice cleans.

I love this amp. I have owned dozens of amps since 1965 and this one is really good. And for [$]?? That's cheaper than the Harmony I had in 1966. I hate chorus so that feature is useless to me. I wish the echo rate was adjustable; but, I've got an echo pedal. The clean sound is full and the dirty channel has exactly the kind of overdrive I like.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G100FX 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Ok, so I got this combo for [$]. It works. Sounds pretty good. The distortion is ok, but you will need to tweak it some. Enough volume to irritate soundmen. Better probably to use your own effects through the line in/out. Not gonna throw away any Marshalls or my Egnater, but it's ok. I'll try it at my next gig.

Comments about Acoustic Lead Guitar Series G100FX 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought the 120 watt lead series amp and will get this one before too long, and will use this amp for gigs and for practice. Can not go wrong with these amps, and they have a sound all of there own. I know this amp will do me just fine and love my lead series 120 watt also. If i had my choice, i would probubly buy all the acoustic amps that they make if i could afford it. I do have fender and vox guitar amps, but use them for other things.
