This amplifier works great for what I was looking for. I just practice with this and is loud enough to be heard with other amps. This is only my first amp but I believe it has good quality and good functionality. The CD input will be nice to use if I need to play with an instrumental version of a song. All around pretty good sound, not loud though. It does buzz very slightly when I play around a C on the first string. Otherwise I think the frequencies are fine for the speaker.

I have had mine several years and also had the Buzz issue mentioned by other reviewers. On mine there were two things causing the Buzz. The first was the grill cloth vibrating against the Plastic name tag on the front. Removing the tag (4 little screws) fixed that issue. The 2nd was the thin back panel. Removing or bracing it fixed that issue on mine. Now it has no Buzz but with the small speaker does not give you that deep bass. I would spend a little more on one with better reviews.

The Little Amp that Couldn't

Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BT108 Bass Practice Combo:

Boy, you get what you pay for. Looking for a small amp for my students to use at their home and the price is certainly right on this amp! Sadly, nothing else is. The output of the amp that came with a Rogue Starter Kit they originally used got a 1 on my fun meter. This one gets a 2. You can't nudge it above about 3 on it's volume control unless you want to sound like Grand Funk Railroad's fuzz bass. At that level, you can still talk above it! Not what the budding power hungry kid is looking for these days..........I can't even recommend this as a bedroom amp! Sorry Behringer-you usually get the bang for the buck right, but not this time.
Pretty good with the features, but not with the tone or the output.
Construction seemed fine-that's not my beef.
Just hardly usable-for a 12 year old.

    The Price Says It All

Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BT108 Bass Practice Combo:

I recently purchased this amp along with my very first bass. I wanted to get something inexpensive in case I didn't excel at the instrument. This amp was terrible. It looks great but that's about the only positive. It buzzed from day one. No matter what setting or volume. The second day I used it the headphone output completely failed. I'm in the process of returning the amp now. The price is awesome but the amp is worth even less. Don't waste your time or money on this amp.

This little amp does what it says on the tin, it`s a PRACTICE amp,so for those looking to annoy the neighbours with it, NO chance. Otherwise it`s an excellent little thing with decent tones and good build quality.
Previous reviews have mentioned that it buzzes and rattles, and it does, IF you crank it right up to silly levels, use it for it`s intended purpose and it`s a good little piece of kit.
Now i`m off to whack some pedals up it, and see how it deals with that,he said with an evil grin :)

Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BT108 Bass Practice Combo:

It's an 8" bass combo. You'd need a really well built cabinet and very good speaker for an 8" bass combo to sound good. This one sounds better than most, tonally.
4 band EQ is nice. The best feature is the VTC which does color the sound in a positive way.
A seven over-all because the speaker can't keep up with the amp, but otherwise it's great.

It is THE quietest amp I have in my collection, and it's not due to any noise gating inside.
For a low volume practice amp, it's great if you can stand playing bass at very low levels.

I intend on turning it into a head and hooking it up to a real speaker. I believe it'll kick some real butt this way, believe it or else.

tried this amp at a local music store when I was trying out a squire jazz bass I was pleased at how well this little amp sounded, the tone was clean and clear, the speaker sounded solid at low volume, this is a nice low priced practice amp.

Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BT108 Bass Practice Combo:

Pretty good if it's only your first amp or just something to practice with. There is some wicked distortion if the volume or bass EQ is turned past 5 but other than that it's a pretty solid amp to start out on.

When i first got this amp for xmas it was pretty cool, it was nice n loud but as the months went by i realized the cons about this amp.Yes its tube circuit amp but it does not sound or overdrive like one, peaveys tube circuitry amps do a better job.... this one no, it just sounds like a regular solid state amp, not alot of head room, hard clipping when overdriven and very mid rangy, not enough highs and the lows vibrate the amp which is annoying. over all its just a practice amp, it can be best used as a jazz players amp maybe lol idk

ive had this bass amp for a year and im probably going to keep for many more years. this bass is almost perfect but at higher volumes 5 and up the amp vibrates and if you hit the strings kinda hard it will distort a lil at not even a high volume.but thats a cool thing thought cause the virtual tube circuitry gives it a cool bass OD at higher volumes . its a good PRACTICE bass amp.

This is a great amp for practicing or just warming up. It has great tone and features for such a small amp. DO NOT use this amp for any kind of live event. It would probably blow up. This is just an amp to keep at home. Even with that, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this amp.

Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BT108 Bass Practice Combo:

I'll be using this amp for practice and an occasional Acoustic session with friends. My first impression is a good one. I play a 5 string bass and was pleasantly surprised with the tone quality. It is designed to be a practice at low volumes. When the volume was turned up it does seem to distort when playing on the Low "B" string. At practice level volume there is no distortion and sounds great. Considering the price and size/weight it is a great value.

Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BT108 Bass Practice Combo:

I got this for my birthday, as I already had a Squier P Special (P/J Pickup configuration) as a first amp. It had a 5-band EQ (Which I tought was cool), and a Tube modeler. The amp will badly distort if you turn up the volume or EQ. The volume is essentialy the distortion control., so I rarely turn it above 5, and flatten the EQs. I have nt had the plagues that I've heard about from other people, though I haven't gigged with it, but I am scouting out my next one. I've had it about 8 months and it still is as good as when I got it.The tone is nothing amzing, but it is still good. I will keep it, though I rarely use it. Playing unplugged helps me hear the bass better. Buy it as a practice amp, but don't use it if you want an amzing tone.

This amp works alright and I suppose does what it is built to do. That is, it's good for quietly practicing in your room. Speaker gets VERY sloppy when the volume or low EQ is turned up over half, and I prefer to listen through headphones since it sounds much clearer. It's pretty solid and sturdy and appears to be well built and able to withstand a lot of wear and tear... just don't expect anything all that load.
