Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BVT4500H 450W Bass Amplifier Head:
I ordered this as a backup/practice amp head. All I can say is while I know Behringer over rates their instrument amp power, this one is ridiculous. I have owned 100 watt amp heads with way more power.
That being said, the sound quality was quite good. But when something says 450 watts, you'd expect the Earth to move a little and this will not happen with this anemic beast that weighs about 5 times as much as my 700RB.
Boxed it back up and returned it to Musician's Friend after a friendly conversation with a rep.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BVT4500H 450W Bass Amplifier Head:
It's a Behringer. In some circles, the name causes grown men to grow faint and small children to cry and there's really no need for this. The head is heavy - think solid and over constructed - not always a bad thing. Put this on top of your cabinet and your cabinet is not going to get kicked over or vibrate its way across the floor. The head is straightforward and simple to use. Rotary pots for bass, mid and treble and a graphic eq for fine tuning. Everything works as expected with lots of power and tone and for the blow out pricing, you can't touch another head that will do what this one will. I have played Peavey, Behringer, Hartke and Ampeg heads. There is a cosmetic favor to the higher end names but in the end, I think it is only so much cork sniffing. In a dimly lit practice room or hall with a drink or two spilled on it, what is that extra money spent on cosmetics really buying you that can be seen by anyone? Reliability? So far so good, she powers on and everything works. I would fully expect to see a couple years service from the head and again at this price point, she looks good, sounds good and is not going to break the bank if I have to write it off after 24 months, which is something I could not say for it's more expensive siblings.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BVT4500H 450W Bass Amplifier Head:
I've got this amp head at a great deal here at MF and only thing I can tell you is that I wish I've bought 2 of them. This head is SOLID! Built like a tank, the sound is FANTASTIC, I use a 2-10 with a horn 200W at 8hms and a 1-15 200W at 8hms... so I get 400W solid power out of it, you can also get a 400W cab at 4ohms and will get the same power. I used to have a SWR redhead 400W tube amp... That amp combo sounded like heaven but I sold it and for over a thousand less I bought my new set up... Couldn't be happier and the sound is not that different. This Behringer Ultrabass BVT4500H 450W Bass Amplifier Head is with no doubt the best value out there hands down, period.
I haven't used it for a long time so I cannot say much about durability but so far in the last 2 weeks I just got AMAZED!
Hope this helps!

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BVT4500H 450W Bass Amplifier Head:
Dont be afraid of the price. They have stepped up their game with this amp. I have played and still have multiple ampeg amps and i prefer playing through this one. It looks good and I am digging the sound! And for the price you cant beat it. Plus free shipping. I use a Fender Jazz, and Ibanez EDA 5 string. Both sound great!

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BVT4500H 450W Bass Amplifier Head:
I bought this amp as a Stupid Deal and free shipping. I bought it mainly to use as a power amp. I run my wedge floor monitors off of it by running the signal from the board into the main amp in jack or the effects return if I want the Master Volume to work. As a bonus I have a decent bass head if I need one as well. To bad the EQ is before the break in point. It's a pretty powerful amp but the 450 watt peak rating is deceptive. I suspect the RMS rating is probably .707 x 450 watts which would put it closer to 300 real watts. But still a great bang for the buck. I'm trying to find a schematic to see if I can modify it to use the EQ after the effects return. If you are using it for bass and are into appearances, the Behringer badge removes with 4 screws. If you put an Ampeg badge on it and it looks just like an SVT on stage, lol.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BVT4500H 450W Bass Amplifier Head:
Bought this as a Stupid Deal of the Day offering. I couldn't pass it up. Whether you love or hate Behringer, this is a great bass head. The sound and tone range equals many more expensive brands out there. I currently own Ampeg, Fender and Sunn bass amps and this head can hold it's own. For the price, it was a complete bargain. I own other Behringer equipment, and from my personal experience you get a lot of bang for the buck and everything I have purchased from them still operates perfectly. If you want an excellent sounding bass head, with plenty of power for very little investment, I don't think you can do better than the Ultrabass BVT4500H 450W Bass Amplifier Head.
