This Behringer bass head is by far "the best bang for your buck". I am 49 years old , and played in numerous bands. I have owned the least expensive to the higher end equipment. This head has enough power to handle any venue. I had the gain and volume output knobs at the 9 o,clock position. And it shook my house !!!! And I had plenty of knob yet to go. Buy this head , you will be very suprised by the performance. I dont use the ultrabass feature for my style of playing. Which is classic rock to metal, and sometime southern rock. This amp , if you are in a working band. I would buy two of these, and keep one in the truck as a backup. And they are inexpensive enough to do that. I am very pleased with this head. If you are looking for a really good bass head, and dont want to spend a ton of cash. All I could say is buy this, and you will have some extra bucks in your pocket !!!!!
I am the type of player that doesnt use the included footswitch. I dont use the ULTRABASS feature either. I am in the band just to supply the low end with nothing fancy. So when I shop for an amp. I go for the highest power rating I could for the money. My band plays a "loud stage", this head handles it easy.
It looks like a decent amp. It sounds good too. Its German engineering, and built overseas. Like everything else these days. It should last if you dont abuse it.
Great value for this powerhouse !!!

it's been a good head for me in that there have been no problems at all with it and it's been everything that behringer advertises it to be. it's fairly loud when you get it set up right and has pretty decent tone considering what it costs. but it's not really loud enough to play with the band i'm in. i'm usually getting covered up when i have the thing maxed out with the red light flashing. i have the matching 210 and 115 cabs which are both 8 ohms that they don't make anymore and they seem to handle everything the amp can throw at them with ease. the room makes a really big difference in how loud you can get the bottom end, but it's nowhere near as loud as some other amps i've played through in the same spaces. it's a good upgrade from your first amp but probably not the one you'll want to keep forever. it sounds good and can get loud if set up right, but not everything you could ever want out of an amp. you get what you pay for
the eq lets you dial in what tone you're after pretty well. the effects loop is good but one of the jacks went out on mine so it no longer works
never had a problem with it and i bought mine used. the effects loop is the only problem and i hardly use effects anyways so it doesn't really matter
you deffinitely get what you pay for. it's a great head for someone just starting to move up in their playing and not wanting to sink in a lot of cash. great for a advancing player to step up from a smaller practice amp

Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BX4500H Bass Amp Head:
Honestly I was just getting this because I was low on money and needed a replacement real bad. My GK blew and considering my band plays quite a bit of shows we needed something to pick up the slack thats super cheap.
I play Deathcore and needed something with good tone that would cut through with the low end. This head blew my mind. I took it outside where we practice plugged it in and instant head explosion. Our old head wasnt very loud and my wife couldnt hear it in the house. But this head, she heard all the way on the other side of the house. haha.
The features are good but the Ultrabass is kind of pointless. It actually makes your overall tone slightly muddy but considering I didnt buy it for that feature it doesnt lower my rating.
Ive played through the all kinds of different heads and although you literally get what you pay for, I wouldnt apply that to this head. Its cheap, its loud, its sturdy, tons of features and over all enjoyable, id recommend this head to starters, experienced and professional musicians all around.
It is that good.

Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BX4500H Bass Amp Head:
I play bass in a Dokken and a Metallica tribute band and this head replaced a Hartke and it is insanely awesome! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a low cost but powerful amp!!! I run it through a 2x12 and it sounds just as good at rehearsal volume as it does in a live setting by having it run through a DI box or at a recent show with no mikes we did. Great freakin amp!!

Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BX4500H Bass Amp Head:
You will not be disapointed with this head, trust me. I bought this after going through a lot of amps at Best Buy and Guitar Center, I honestly prefer the Behringer ULTRABASS BX4500H amp head. Compared to a Tube Amp, there's obviously a difference, but if you're a beginner starting to gig around localy, then I would recommend this head. Although, you won't be using some of the options like Ultrabass and Shape. The Deep and Bright will keep you busy looking for the right tone of preference. I got this along with the Behringer ULTRABASS BB410 cab, and I find it much better then a 1x15 cab. It won't sound as bassy as the 1x15, but it sounds a lot cleaner. I am still a newbie when it comes to music, but I can definitely tell what sounds good and what doesn't, and I can definitely tell what sounds better. You will get a lot of bang for your buck. And obviously, don't abuse this head, sure it can get loud, but if you abuse anything it will get damanged quicker. Treat it nicely. This rule applies to everything you own.

For this price you can't bet it.
You won't find a better bass head for this price. I use it with a Peavey 15 and a 2x10 cabinet. The sound is very solid. Good lows, crisp mids and highs. Just a tad of noise but can be eq'd out. The Ultrabass is only useful in upper range, but the Shape funtion is great. For small to mid sized audiences you can't beat this head. It shakes the house wherever I play. Thanks Behringer!
Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BX4500H Bass Amp Head:
As stated, Ive only tried this out at home ,not on a stage. It seems pretty nice for the price, has some bells n whistles too. Im not hearing all the volume other people rave about tho...Im running it thru 2 GK cabinets. One 15 ported and a 2 10 cabinet sealed both are 8 ohms each...decent volume but not shakin the house !
I like this amp so far..I run it thru 2 GK cabinets (8 ohms each) and it sounds good. After reading other reviews I can only say I dont think this head is all that loud. I havent used it on stage yet so we'll see then. Other than that I do like it !

I bought this as a replacement for my peavey tko115. Let me tell you that this amp will get a killer tone that beats every other amp out there down except markbass and trace elliot. And it gets soooooo loud. i live in an old farm house and when i crack it, it moves my support pillars. Get the matching 4x10 cab also and take it from me you wont be dissappointed at all.
Great amount of features(more than i use) Great 5 band EQ that can really dial a terriffic tone.
No problems goin on 2 years of stage play and recordings. Still pumping out killer tone.
Cant get a better bass amp for this cheap either,
Comments about Behringer ULTRABASS BX4500H Bass Amp Head:
This was a sweet head, i enjoyed it alot, it was the first bass amp i owned, i played it through a decent cab, not the best cab but decent, the passive active option was great, and the needle was great to make sure you weren't pushing the amps limits, but this head, it is a beast, it is loud, used it at some outdoor music festivals, jamming, studio work, indoor venues, all over, lugged this thing everywhere for a long time and took quite the beating but always sounded good. Good highs and lows as long as you have a good enough cab to really appreciate it. My only problems with it was is that certain live shows and in the studio the amp gave off a constent buzzing that i could never seem to fix, but it was great for live shows, it ended up sitting in a jam room for 6 months or more used by mulitple bass players all varying in styles and was awesome. The bright and shape controls i rarely used, did not feel like i ever needed them, the ultrabass octive thing was pretty cool but never encorperated it in anying. ended up having to sell it, needed money.
