I bought this amp after Christmas, after I plugged into a Peavey TNT 115 ($$$) and got the bug for a new amp. The 1800A amp has clear and warm tone even at higher volumes and can definitely rattle the walls. The amp sounds pretty decent at both indoor and outdoor gigs and I am very happy with what I got for the money. I don't use the foot switch (yet) and haven't figured out this Ultrabass thing, but I like the compression and Line and XLR outputs are real handy, plus being able to hook up my MP3 player to it and practicing. Go for it!Yeah, its almost 50lbs but if you don't have to lug a long distance, its worth the lug (: I am pretty much a beginner playing gigs, but the feedback from the guys I jam with is all positive and they like it too!!! they can hear the bass for a change. Definitely a small club/pub amp, but for the money you can't go wrong (unless you get a defective one!)

When functional, this amp delivers tons of features at a bargain price. The lighted EQ is sort of lame, it needs some sensitivity tweaks, or the gain all they way up to work. It has a decent tone, and features an XLR out. However, on the first jam session I took it to, 23 minutes later, and it stank up the room, smelled like a blown capacitor or something, and that was only at a gain of 5/master of 4. I have exchanged it for an SWR LA12....The studio I work at has had a BXL1200 for many years, and has been abused a lot, so I figured I was safe in buying this amp, but I guess I got the short straw

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL1800A 180W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:
I have had this amp for about a year know and I have to say that for the price this amp is hard to beat. It has plenty of power for a 1x12 and the kick back feature and portability are nice. It is a little heavier than I expected but overall a good amp especially for a beginner.
Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL1800A 180W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:
I needed a small amp for small venues and something I could carry up and down stairs.I compared this amp to other kickback amps and found the Berringer had the best tone and volume for the $$$.Most of the features are useful, but I would have designed it with a built in tuner and left out the Ultrabass and footswitch.

Great practice amp and for small venues as well... for the price you can't beat it!

Holy cow! What an amp! I tried this one out for maybe 30 mins where I was jamming with a drummer. Needles to say, I don't think he could have gotten louder then I was. The alluminum cone makes all the difference, all around. I love this amp, I'm getting it for Christmas.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL1800A 180W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:
I bought this because my school's amp is a whimpy 60 watt keyboard amp that is getting ready to die and I needed a new one for other musical pursuits (a CCM/Christian Rock band) I played it for 5 minutes and it sounded great. I started messing around with the Ultrabass (which I thought was REALLY cool for some uses). My cat jumped over my bass and the cone popped out as far as it would go and made a horrible bleep type noise. A burnt wiring smell began issuing from the rear ports. Needless to say I sent it back and will be getting a new one shortly. I was really quite dissapointed because the one I tested at Guitar Center didn't have this problem and I had abused it for a good 10 minutes.

Naturally, I play on Crate Digital Amps, but when I saw this in the local guitar shop, I tried it out. I plugged in my Hamer Chapparell, and it sounded alright, then I plugged in my Hamer Monaco, sounded alright again. Then I rented the amp from the shop for a one night gig, and the amp cannot take the power of a Hamer Bass Guitar, and to me, thats unsatisfactory. For professional guitar plays, I personally do not recomend this amp, especially if you play Hamer guitars. But for a beginner, the value of the amp would be perfect.
Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL1800A 180W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:
I bought this to use at a once a week bass gig in a small venue. It worked pretty good the first night. It went out the second gig. Now the repair shop is holding the amp hostage untill Behringer pays the warranty. Its been a month now. I bought another amp and have no intention of using this or any other Behringer product again. The amp sounded pretty good and did the job well while it worked. However, for me, its still money down the drain. I feel ripped off.
