I bought this amp and have owned if for about two years now. Take if from me..this amp is awesome. I know that alot of people have negative ideas about Behringer, but they make some good stuff. I move my amp alot and it's still in good shape it's definetly a strongly built amp. Behringer is a german company so obviously before they made amps they made tank, sturdy and strong. Dis sucka is loud and gets' the job done.

-The Price is attractive-The punch is attractive-The design is attractivethese were my thoughts when purchasing this bass amp about two years ago. When purchased this amp never left my climate controlled basement and the volume was never raised above a 4. It was a so-so practice amp for when I wasn't out on the road but just short of two years into ownership the speaker started randomly clicking when i played and eventually stopped working all together. I took it in to get serviced at my local shop and they said it was not worth servicing because there were as much as 4 different problems with it.For the price this amp is not worth it, invest a little more for something with more reliability.

I've owned this amp for about a month now. I bought it without even test driving it. Reviews and word of mouth convinced me I would not be disappointed... and I'm here to say that i'm one satisfied customer. Great Sound and power for such a bargain price. I play at home so I don't use it but for practice and youtube...but if the wife is telling me to turn it down, then I must have something!

    Not great

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I was out to buy an amp/combo today and just about bought this one. After listening to it on a 5-string on the B string I bought a Fender Rumble 60. The Behringer rattled on the B but sound pretty good on upper notes, nearly anything other than the open B. I didn't play with the features much, they are about the same as the Rumble 60 it appears (except the 7 band EQ on this one) Listen before you buy. Try other brands.

    Great starter bass amp

    By Anonymous

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I just bought this amp as a starter for my daughter who has been playing acoustic bass for some time and is breaking into electric bass. We got the BXL900A (which has the aluminum cone speaker which is a bit heavier duty. The tonal controls and FBQ are nice. Although the ultrabass seems a bit muddy. The distortion is ok, but not as useful in bass playing as it might be on guitar. We are using a Fender Jaguar bass that has a lot of its own tonal controls both active and passive so we didn't need a lot of tonal flexibility in the amp. So far, it has performed well and holds its own in jam band situations. Great amp to start off with though.Features that are missing (you have to go up a model or two in the Behringer line to get these) are an line out to attach an extension speaker cabinet and an effects send/return to insert any sort of effects chain like chorus.

    My AMP Review

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I recently purchased the Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W Amp and I love it. This is the best amp I ever used. The sound comes out very clear. I love the different features on this amp, especially the 2 channels you can switch. I am having fun with it without worrying about the amp blowing out. Its very loud, too. I love it, though.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I bought this amp by accedent. I was far too tired to be ordering on the internet and I thought I had ordered a 150W amp untill the next day. It has good sound on the lows and mids but not the highs. It fusses out on highs. It is easily over ridden by my drums too. Not the loudest thing. Great for practice at moderate volume.

    Pretty good combo!

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I gave up playing a few years ago and sold my SWR SM900/Goliath II/Big Ben rig. After not playing since, I wanted something cheap that sounds like the SWR stuff. This reminds me of my old trusty Hartke combo I used to have at 1/3 the price. The distortion sounds a bit strange. I'm not sure what hyperbass is supposed to do nor do I know why there is a stereo input, but for just playing music this combo does it right. I doesn't get muddy or distort w/ a 5 string bass. It plays pretty loud for it's size. It's a great sounding practice amp.

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

I have been playing bass for around a year now, and I've mostly been playing through practice amps made for guitars, so when I say that this amp sounds amazing, I don't really have much to compare it to.I do, however recognize an awesome ampe when I see one. The "See What You Play" feature is fantastic and really helps make what you play stand out. The Ultrabass feature is good for those floorshaking lows. This amp is loud. I could have went with an amp a little louder, but this being my first amp, I decided to go with quality over quantity.I gave it a 10 for value because there are no other amps that come anywhere near this close to an amp for such a small price.Overall, this is a great amp, whether you need something to practice with, or for playing some small gigs, this amp is probably good for you.

    Works for me

Comments about Behringer Ultrabass BXL900A 90W 1x12" Aluminum Cone Bass Combo:

First, I play guitar and don't have a lot of experience with bass amps. However,I bought this as an inexpensive, loud amp to mess around with a bass I bought for recording. This works great for me as a practice amp thats loud enough to rattle items off shelves in my house. I ordered a BX1800 that showed up with a bad speaker, so I sent it back for this one. I can get alot of different sounds out of the 7 band EQ, and crank it all the way on the clean channel without it breaking up. Distortion channel is useless to me, I'd use a much "fuzzier" pedal if I wanted distortion. The Ultrabass feature sounds pretty cool if you keep it above the 9th fret or so on the E string, below that it sounds odd and off key. Its like a lower harmonic effect, and I'm planning to write a song using this sound. If you're looking for something to keep up with a set of drums and a band, might want to spend some extra $$$ for a louder model, but this one might keep up, I havent tryed it. Great for a practice amp with some very respectable thump!
