Comments about Behringer US600 Ultra Shifter/Harmonist Guitar Effects Pedal:
I use this with my bass. It really bugs me that pedal makers find it necessary to market bass pedals that only go DOWN one/two octaves. So, I did some research and bought this. I use it to add one octave for an 8-string sound and two octaves higher to get a bass/lead guitar unison sound. I sometimes play with three piece bands and that second octave fills out the sound while the guitarist is comping chords.
This pedal does respond very well. I have to play some very fast licks and the tracking is dead on. The pass-through is quiet. Because the nob I use does not "click", I sometimes overshoot the +1 octave and end up with 5ths. (OOPS!) Other than that, this really serves my purpose. The demo with a guitar on the Behringer site looks promising for all you guitarists!

Comments about Behringer US600 Ultra Shifter/Harmonist Guitar Effects Pedal:
I have been really impressed with how well this pedal is able to track notes. Seems to handle about 3 separate notes before getting that chimey, hyper digital organ sound (which is not without its charm). This had kind of become my secret weapon playing bass in a weird noisy kind of band, and it seems to track even the low end of my 5-string bass notes with no real problem when set for anything above the original pitch.
The quality of the polyphonic sound really decreases with the harmony effect and with the key only being visible on a small table I don't use this function much. the harmonist mode is really fun for creating synth-y arpeggios with a drone note and the wet signal all the way up.
The detune function is neat and a nice addition and could make a nice alternative to a regular chorus sound. I don't use it much either.
The two trem functions are kind of fun too. They work pretty well as a momentary change with the speed all the way up but this is where my problems lie. It'd be great if it just identified that you've switched to these functions and set a volume but for some odd reason the blend knob acts as a volume knob and you have to open it all the way up to get your to your original volume. Also for some reason this pedal doesn't seem to accept my expression pedal making these functions even less usable on the fly. If I dial in the knobs right I can get a pretty convincing surfy short bend trem sound but with out the expression control it takes a bit of finagling.
With the enclosure it doesn't feel like the type of pedal you'd have for thirty years but I don't have issues about taking it to and from shows in a pedal bag. Probably not for a tone nitpicker as there is some loss (less noticeable on guitar than bass) but it has a good variety of sounds at a very reasonable price.

Comments about Behringer US600 Ultra Shifter/Harmonist Guitar Effects Pedal:
I promised I would not buy a Behringer product again after an amp, mic pre-amp, and powered mixing board all had major problems shortly after purchasing. All of those products sounded amazing, but the reliability is not there. Well, I did purchase this pedal. It is an excellent price and it does amazing things.
The pitch shifter is most amazing. If you use only the wet signal, you can drop tune your guitar with the turn of a knob to anything and it will still sound good.
Also, the Digitech type dive bombs up and down are really good. Where else can you bend up a note...an octave...and have it sound fairly real? Also, for fun, I hooked up a microphone and did some singing. As long as you have the wet signal on the light side, it is possible to harmonize your vocals accurately. I say keep the wet signal on the light side because the second voice sounds a bit chipmunk-ish and sounds auto-tuned or pitch-corrected a bit. But if it is in the background, it works and sounds fuller (and it is not even made for that).
For this price, it obviously can't be perfect.
1. When using the an adapter, I get a hum (no other pedal I have does).
2. There is a noticeable moment of silence after switching the pedal on and off. So if you are playing a riff and then want to harmonize a run, it won't be smooth.
3. The harmonizer works, but the harmony (the wet signal) almost works like auto-tune. If you bend a note, it does't really work and if it does, it goes up in steps like auto-tune. In addition, wide vibrato will not work as well. This function is awesome for live playing, but in the studio, there would be no reason to use this pedal. It would sound bad. Better to do the harmony yourself and add your own style of vibrato, bent notes, whammy bar, and have it truly sound like two guitarists, not one guitarist with a signal tracking it.
4. I can't see this product lasting a really long time, but no big deal as the Boss equivalent is three times more.
