I am sold on Behringer products forever. Before I owned the ac-112, I used the v-amp 2, which sounds like a dream. However, I wanted to get a real tube combo to replace the wussy solid-state combo I had been using for so long. Knowing how great the v-amp sounds, I looked into Behringer amps. Needless to say, I still have the best guitar sound of anyone I know, thanks to the ac-112. Don't be fooled by the size or amount of tubes in this thing. That one tiny tube makes a world of difference. This amp has a crystal clear, true vintage tube sound in the clean channel, and a big, fat old-school growl in the overdrive channel. It sounds unbelievable with my stratocaster. In fact, it bears a frightening resemblance to the sound of a Fender blues Deville or Deluxe. Oh, did I mention that the effects processor is amazing? You have to hear it to believe it. I also like the 12" Jensen speaker. It gives me a very versatile tonal range. For heavy modern distortion, I use a Marshall jackhammer pedal, and the AC-112 handles it beautifully. I would also recommend using the Behringer FCB-1010 footswitch with this product. It makes using the effects processor a cinch. If this amp was damaged or stolen, I would definitely buy the same one again. It has the same toughness and sound quality of the best American and British amps on the market.

Sounds good

For the price, it is a great amp. Sounds good, has some great effects. However, I couldn't combine the effects like I want to. It also should have a spring reverb.

A Winner!

By Going back to Fender

I've played guitar for 30+ years, about ten years ago began playing electrics. I like a cleaner, rich, throaty sound. I bought the Vintager because I like the controls on top, slanted cabinet and individual controls for each channel (like a pricier deluxe model but with FX). The FX legend and controls make it easy to set up and adjust - I like the delay/reverb settings, which make my Tele sound great. This is the second Behringer amp for me and I like the way their products are constructed and their price, which you can't beat.

AWESOME choice of features & tone!!

By Perry S.

from Greenville, SC

I used to have a JCM 900 stack with outside effects for 5 yrs. Needed a smaller amp for home. Played some of the "other" combos, NOPE! Had this amp only 2 hrs and already found the clean, dirty, and effects sound that I require. The ease of the controls, tight response, AWESOME tone, the looks, all make this a "One of a kind!" Thanks Behringer for your commitment to excellence!P.S. My Strat says THANKS! Perry S.

For a low price and big punch in studio

By boozeman

This amp is one of the best I have played. It is nice and small so it is easy to take around for jamming and is has enough power to play in small gigs. The effects processor that is on the two channels gives it a good hit of crunch and different effects where they are needed with the ability to play in countless styles and makes it so you don't have to have a hundred stomp boxes on the ground freeing up space for jumping around. The midi board is another great feature that it can use and further decreases the space taken up by countless stomps and the time needed switching effects on the unit itself and therefore allows numerous effects through songs. The input and output devices on the rear are great for recording, adding in any extra effects you may need and the midi board. The tube preamp makes for a beautiful clean, warm tone, as well as an overdrive channel that has a range from clean to light distortion, through crunch and the plainout gainy sounds of classic metal. The only major problem is the slight delay when switching between chanels. I have played a number of similar wattage Peaveys and Marshalls, but they didn't have a tone as warm as this or an overdrive channel that can sound as evil!

GREAT AMP

By Bryan Dougherty

from Bemidji, MN

This is a great amp for any style of music, i bought it about a year ago now and i love it, the only problem i had was when i accidentally broke a knob off, but that was my fault, not the amps. Overall this is a great amp.

Gotta have it

By James Blackmore

Bloody fantastic amp. i used to have a Crate GX-15, and wow that thing is nothing compared to this. I've had it for 3 months and i still havn't got good use out of all the effects. it's preaty damn loud, I had it up to 3 and the guy in the next apartment told me to turn it down. I haven't had a lot of use in a band situation. but i've played with my friend on drums and I only had it turned up to about 4. the only problems is it's bloody heavy, about 45 pounds, so get yourself a roadie. and i wish you could cycle through the effects with the pedal. and like in multiple other reviews i've read: right out of the box a knob broke off, a treble to be exact... weird possible design defect?. oh and i just remebered, if using external effects you seem to loose some tone, but that could just be the patch chord. and if you're going for a real heavy metal sound the distortion might not be enough for you, i thought it was the perfect amount though. If you buy this amp if say it will last you till you wanna plunk out huge bucks for a 300 watt marshall or something.
