I put this in front of my Blackstar HT Club 40 and WOW! This pedal adds so much depth to the tone. You have your 3 basic controls: Boost, Bass and Treble. All 3 are highly effective and, to be honest, you really can't get a bad tone out of it. I only own tube amps, so I can't speak to its performance with solid state amps. This pedal teamed with my HT 40 eliminates my need for a distortion pedal...it sounds that great.

Four stars on the features for lack of more comprehensive EQ; Top/Bottom w/ tube gain. Nonetheless, buy two when you run hybrid systems in stereo surround. The verdict: sounds absolutely fantastic! Beautiful depth and tone-- turns those sparkly, bright highs into windchimes. I run a gt-10 to two dual MXR 10 bands to a Lexicon MX 400 in stereo surround to a vintage Line 6 hybrid stack and a Vox ad100vth atop an Egnator Tourmaster vintage 30 412 cab. But nonetheless, if you're a tone freak and love warm, three-dimensional crystal-clear cleans with personality and character that simply wash over you and hate dealing with the 'un'-versatility-ness of pure valves, introduce two of these puppies into your solid state or hybrid system and be prepared to fall in love with music all over again! My advice; shop around and see if you can run a really good deal on two. What's more is it's built like the old Boss ME-5-- tank tough, road-ready.

I use it with very old Fender 75 combo. This box gives me a really clean boost, without any overdriving or cranking. It doesn't change a sound of my amp, but it makes the sound... let's say deeper and with more dynamics.I use this unit to improve a sound for recording and for solo boost when playing live.This is very usefull unit if you like your sound and don't want to hear any tone change in a boosted sound.
