OVERVIEW

A formidable combo with broad, immersive sound that really packs a punch live.

The ID:260 is a 2 x 60-watt stereo, programmable amp. With 2 x 12" speakers, this combo has a broad immersive sound and really packs a punch live.

The ID: Series represents the culmination of more than seven years technical research and development by the same team that designed Series One, Artisan and HT Venue. The unique controls allow you to custom design your own sound, store it and then have the confidence that the amp will perform in a live environment.

By using the unique Voice control, patented ISF and patent-applied-for True Valve Power, these amplifiers allow unparalleled flexibility and ease of use, enabling you to in effect, design the sound in your head and deliver it live as LOUD as valve. Individuality is power!

FEATURES
  • True Valve Power offers six distinctly different power valve responses - EL84, 6V6, EL34, KT66, 6L6, KT88
  • ¢ EL84 - Bell like full bodied Class A with lots of compression
  • ¢ 6V6 - Crisp Class A with high compression and tight mids
  • ¢ EL34 - Classic British Class A/B crunch with full bodied soft break up
  • ¢ KT66 - Rich and warm vintage British hot biased Class A/B
  • ¢ 6L6 - Tight dynamic Class A/B with extended highs and lows
  • ¢ KT88 - Tight, bold and dynamic Class A/B with strong low end
  • EQ with patented ISF: The patented ISF control works with the Bass and Treble controls to give you access to infinite new sound possibilities from the USA to the UK and everywhere in-between, allowing you to infinitely adjust the response of the tone control network between any of the traditional voicings
  • Voices: The unique Voice control has six different channels - Clean Warm, Clean Bright, Crunch, Super Crunch, OD 1, OD 2, which when used together with Blackstar's patented ISF control, you can get the exact tone you're thinking of
  • GUI Software: GUI for deep editing and storing of patches is simple using the supplied Blackstar GUI software. Patches can be shared, uploaded and downloaded via our online community. The USB connector also allows you to record your amp directly to your computer or to re-amp guitar tracks. The audio section allows you to play along to your MP3s, plus you can loop and time stretch sections for phrase training
  • Multi effects: The effects section delivers studio-quality modulation, delay and reverb effects (four each, based on classic and boutique effects) simultaneously that you can store with your sound
  • 128 user storable sounds: There are 12 patches which are accessible from the front of the amp
  • Manual mode: The sound you hear will reflect the current physical position of the knobs so you can find the sound you are looking for and then store it for future use
  • USB connectivity: Plug the amp in to a mac or PC with the USB connection and you'll be able to edit patches, record and re-amp audio and much more via the GUI
  • Speaker emulated output: This amp has a fully specified speaker emulated output which further enhances the studio credentials and allows any guitarist to get amazing valve tone straight to tape or disk, or through headphones
  • Built-in tuner: Allows you to tune your guitar through the amp, with LEDs that indicate if the note that is being played is in tune, sharp or flat
  • MIDI input: This amp offers the ability to recall Patches via MIDI Program Change messages, and to dynamically modify Patch values via MIDI Control Change messages

Comments about Blackstar ID: 260 2 x 60W (120W) Stereo Programmable Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this amp and I love it. It's sound is unparalleled for a solid state amp. I compared the 260 tvp to the Mustang 3 and 4 and they just didn't have the dynamic that the blackstar had, however at the cost of some effects namely a wah. The cleans on this amp are phenomenal and can go all the way to djent. I ended up choosing the blackstar over the mustang 4 since I got it for 20 percent off on cyber Monday and I'm glad I did.

Comments about Blackstar ID: 260 2 x 60W (120W) Stereo Programmable Guitar Combo Amp:

I have had about every tube amp on the market, and this amp passes them all. It is easy to dial in and the effects are very usable. I tried a boost pedal in front of the amp but didn't work well. I found it is better to just dedicate a channel for leads only. Don't understand the people saying they have noise issues. My amp is dead quiet even with big gain dialed in. Maybe they have a ground issue in there guitar. It is a tad heavy but still not as bad as my tube amps. I use this amp on every gig now and my tubbers are parked. Take your time dialing in your sound and you will be very happy with the results.

I have digital modellers, floorboards, racks, VST's, analog pedals, tube amps, solid state amps. Always had an issue having to bring my recorded tone to live gigs. Until i picked up this combo. All problems solved. Sounds amazing. Makes your tube amps make a run for their money. Best amp I ever bought.

Comments about Blackstar ID: 260 2 x 60W (120W) Stereo Programmable Guitar Combo Amp:

After getting the ID:30 1x12 version of this amp series and loving the way it really brought out the "personalities" of my different guitars and pickups, I had to upgrade to this 60w 2x12 version and am glad I did. The only other amp that I've played on that did this well too was the Fender Hot Rod Series Blues Junior III 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp Black - and that is a real tube amp. Unfortunately for Line 6 Spiders and Peavey Vyprys - Blackstar is the new king of digital amps imo. The online USB hookup looks vast, but will taking time and a learning curve for this old skool player

Comments about Blackstar ID: 260 2 x 60W (120W) Stereo Programmable Guitar Combo Amp:

Excellent addition to programmable amplification. Fairly intuitive to set-up and use. Digital effects are top-shelf. TVP is an outstanding addition opening several options for power and overall tonal sound. The ISF feature is cool and in conjunction with TVP- opens several avenues for power and tone variation. Like me- if you want a tight, punchy, bottom-end for rythum; the Resonance feature gives this and more. The only caveat is the amount of hiss and noise it projects particularly when gain is increased. Not sure that a noise-gate will solve this issue. Hoping that Blackstar has a remedy. Lastly- the front-panel display looks very cool with the multi-colored LED's. I think this will be a keeper!

Comments about Blackstar ID: 260 2 x 60W (120W) Stereo Programmable Guitar Combo Amp:

I have tried all the reasonably priced modeling units (floor and amp) out there and have never been happy with the results. I've always felt like you were playing a recording of the amp that it is emulating. Never had the punch. Seemed like someone threw a towel over the speaker. The ID260 is not like the others. It is actually inspiring to play. If you want many sounds in an all-in-one portable package, this is a great choice. Very satisfying.
