The new flagship multi-effects for bass!

Bass players can enjoy the same core processing muscle and flexibility of the GT-10 in a specially made sibling: the GT-10B multi-effects pedal. Massive power of BOSS' latest DSP and know-how of sound modeling based on COSM provide ultimate effects capability and essential features for bass. With a Parallel Effects Chain, Phrase Looper, and EZ Tone features, the GT-10B pedal is clearly the most advanced-yet-friendly bass station on the market.

Bass Tone Factory

Powered by BOSS' latest custom-made sound processor, the GT-10B provides dozens of stunning effects and COSM amp models to explore, combine, and customize, but with careful attention given to the needs of bass players. Indispensable effects for bass, including pro-quality Comp/Limiter and EQ, OD/DS, synth basses, high-band modulation effects that retain the integrity of the tone, and tons of effects from essential to esoteric.

Advanced sound

Powered by the custom-made new-generation processor and BOSS proprietary sound modeling method COSM, the GT-10B multi-effects pedal ushers in a new era of audio quality for guitarists. BOSS' huge accumulated know-how of effects and sound modeling are fully integrated into this new flagship multi-effects floorboard. As a result, tone quality is supreme, and response to playing dynamics is much more natural and musical. And not just for the stage -- the Boss GT-10B is also great in the studio thanks to its USB capability and digital output.

EZ TONE wizard

The GT-10B is a pro players dream, but it's also friendly and easy-to-use. The innovative EZ Tone wizard helps you create top-quality sounds quickly. It offers a truly intuitive approach based on graphical icons to get the sounds that bass players are imagining. No more struggling with parameters on the LCD or multiple cursor commands. As well as the EZ TONE, managing the Boss GT-10B pedal is truly intuitive. For example, the new Positional Tone Control allows tone and effects creation via a revolutionary Tone Grid where you place the pointer in a spatial area depending on what kind of tone or effects you want. Value of the essential parameters shown can be increased/decreased immediately by tweaking four rotary encoder knobs below the LCD. Operation is similar to having compact pedals on a pedal-board quickly jumping from any effect to any effect.

More flexibility and possibility

GT-10B's PARALLEL CHAIN offers two separate effects paths including COSM amp models for super tone capability or seamless switching from two bass effects paths. Two channels can be used simultaneously or blended by expression pedal, or even switched by playing dynamics.

Phrase Looper Built-In

GT-10B multi-effects pedal comes equipped with PHRASE LOOPER. This inspiring feature allows phrases to be created using sound-on-sound loop recording for performance, practice, or as a sketchpad.

USB Connectivity

Connect the GT-10B to a wide range of external gear via its rear-panel USB port, where audio and MIDI data (bulk data) can be streamed digitally to computers, digital recorders, or other compatible devices. Safely transfer precious data to and from the GT-10B via USB as well.

Quality Construction and Pro Outputs

XLR and _" stereo outputs are included for maximum audio flexibility. It's a BOSS tradition to build gear that looks great, is user friendly, and stands up to the rigors of the road. The Boss GT-10B pedal is no exception, with its strong, stylish design, and six dedicated footswitches plus expression pedal. The high-contrast LCD and LED make using the GT-10B a breeze even on dark stages or in glaring sunlight. The sturdy metal chassis is BOSS road-tough.

Features

  • Dozens of bass centric effects and COSM amp models
  • EZ TONE intuitive tone creation system uses graphic icons.
  • Parallel effects chains can be blended or layered
  • Phrase looper for sound on sound effects
  • USB capability offers streaming audio in real time and MIDI data transfer.

Boss GT10-B is a Bass Swiss Army Knife

Features:

This is the only device for bass that will let you use almost any combination of effects across 2 separate effects chains and an expression pedal.  Most devices will limit modulation effects to one instance in any program.  The GT10-B will let you use a modulation effect in each effects chain and still let you use pitch bend on the expression pedal.  This is great on effects where you might want to included a flanger or phase shifter, but still want to use the expression pedal as a whammy.  I have never found this capability in any other processor.

The other feature that is really well thought out is the programming interface.  There is a quick easier interface for each program that utilizes four knobs under the LED screen.  If you want to drill into more parameters you can push a button to change the display mode to show all the details.

Quality:

The GT10-B seems to be made pretty solidly.  Definitely no complaints so far.

Value:

It is definitely a bit pricey, but in general worth it.

Overall:

The Boss GT10-B is a really good high end multi-effect processor for bass.  It is packed with features and extremely versatile for Rock, Funk or Jazz.

Fascinating!

Features:

So by now you know this board is rich with great pedal effects and amp modeling. You can read the other reviews to get an idea what it does, but I thought I'd share my uses for it. To keep this very short, here is what I currently use the GT-10b for: my main patch for most of the songs using its eq, ampeg amp model and compression (very important), silent tuning (even more important on stage!) a distortion effect on some songs, a wah effect I can't even put into words on a breakdown of ours, the Space Funk patch (Chorus and Delay) on a mid-set song used in conjunction with the awesome phrase looper for a trippy rolling thunder type experience for the audience, Drifting Drive patch (ramp effect) that catches people off-guard during a long drum fill, and most importantly I control all the intros, bass drops and sound bytes in our set by hooking up my laptop via USB - a very simple process!  Take that sound guys -  always butchering our intros with the cds we gave you!  Also, if your rig fails you during a show you can always run straight out of the GT-10b!

Quality:

Road Rugged, but since I haven't found a big enough case or decided to spend $50 on the case you can by for it  I have allowed some cosmetic scratches to manifest on my baby!  No one to blame but myself! Though, through no fault of my own, hooligans down in the mosh pit have immersed my board with their beer, and it still works.  To my ears all the effects and models sound great, the board looks sexy with its metallic magenta coloring and blue light, and all the pedals and knobs work flawlessly.  As far as learning how to use the beast...look, like every tech device on earth nowadays the GT-10b is menu driven.  Just search around, hit enter or turn the wheel, go into sub menus, etc.  Yes, I'm oversimplifying it but in the end that's all you are doing, you just need to familiarize yourself with the menus...and know English...you can't really screw anything up! The only complaint I have is a split second delay when changing patches...understandable with all the circuitry involved.  I'll just have to change a split second before I need the patch to kick in!

Value:

I bought mine for $350 because it was a floor model, but if I had to I would have spent $500 for a new one.  I would replace this in a heartbeat if it was ever stolen or unrepairable.

Overall:

It's the last board I will ever need or want to buy!  Getcha one!

This is a wonderful product from boss. In my electric guitar rig I've always been a digitech man and the rp1000 is a great unit, but in my search for a multi-effects unit for my bass rig the GT-10B definitley caught my attention. Lets be honest it looks impressive and like it has alot to offer. In this case looks are not deciving. The customaztion options are virtually limitless for this unit, and did I mention that this thing sound AMAZING! I can just plug this thing into the PA at my chuch and go to town. The only reason that I did not give a perfect score is that I would have liked more than 2 assignable footswitches out of the box. I like to be able to control everything I need with my feet. No one likes to bend over on stage, but other than that I say if you are thinking about a multi-effects unit for your bass, STOP THINKING and BUY THIS UNIT! You will not be sorry.

Great Pedal

Have used this pedal close to 2 years now. Has all kinds of great sounds. Definitely was more pedal than I needed. Had a little bit of a learning curve with setting up the pedal for how I like to use it. Have used this pedal in the studio and like the fact the output signal can be switched between +4 or -10. I use the +4 when playing without an amp (which happens sometimes in the studio). 2 line outs for stereo recording or live stereo sound... The only hassle would be having to enter the 'system' configuration to switch things around. Having said that, a lot can be switched... from pedal configuration, to the order the signal is processed. Can also be used in Manual Mode if you want simple configurations like just distortion, chorus, reverb, or all at the same time.

After seeing the rave reviews here on MF I knew this was the first and last effects purchase I would ever have to make for my bass rig. It has so many pedals and amps and other features the possibilities are virtually endless. I like how flexible the programming side of the GT-10b is, for example, you can route the tuner through one of the 2 Control footswitches and even silence it so you can tune on stage with discretion.  I have played one gig so far, and I am not lying, when I went to use the expression pedal three musicians from the other bands we played with ran through the pit to the front of the stage just to scrutinize what I was unleashing onto the crowd.  the pedal is sexy, heavy duty construction and if you don't like the tone, its because you haven't taken the time to dial it.  Their are many layers of eq, some of which you can specify the Q and really shape the tone with surgical precision.  My guitar player sent back his Digitech GSP 1101 and got the GT-10 when I explained to him how badass this unit is, saving $400 in the process.  The amp channel switching is not a feature I foresee needing, but he does!  It saves stage space and its far more efficient and less clumsy than having to hit 2 footswitches to go from his dirty channel to clean while punching up a chorus on the GT-10, for example.  So go get one!
