OVERVIEW

A compact powerhouse with a tube preamp for warm, vintage-style tone.

The 15W Bugera BC15 Vintage guitar amp says "retro" better than almost any other combo amp out there. From its vintage styling-which harkens back to the golden age of tube design-to its dual-channel, 12AX7-fueled preamp, this little 1x8 time machine instantly transports your tone to the land of bliss.

Add a master Volume control and 2-band EQ with mid SHIFT switch, and a solid 15W RMS at your disposal, and the BC15 amp is ideal for rehearsal, home or professional recording studios, and even for small gigs. For more demanding performances, just stick a mic in front of the vintage tuned 8" Bugera speaker and give 'em a taste of real-tube tone.

Just like Bugera's high-powered flagship amps, the Bugera BC15 is all about guitar tone. There's a hand-selected 12AX7 tube inside the BC15, giving this little brute its bite. But the Bugera BC15 isn't just a one-trick pony. Selecting the Gain button activates the Bugera amp's Lead/Distortion channel, launching you into sweet tube-soaked overdrive. EQ duties are handled by Bass and Treble controls which-when used in conjunction with the midrange shift button-provide tons of tone-sculpting options.

Even though the Bugera BC15 has vintage styling reminiscent of amplifiers from the '50s and '60s, the little combo also boasts some very modern extras. A 1/4" TRS jack provides a connection for external playback devices, such as a CD player, tape deck, iPod, and others, allowing you to jam with your favorite songs. If it's late and the urge to play suddenly strikes, just plug some headphones into your BC15 and you won't have to worry about waking the kids or bothering the neighbors. You won't find features like these on your granddad's amp!

All this tone and functionality comes in an extremely portable, lightweight package-and because it's built like a tank, the Bugera BC15 amplifier takes whatever life dishes out, from one gig to the next. Before you spend far too much of your hard-earned cash, you owe it to yourself to give the Bugera BC15 Vintage guitar amp a listen.

FEATURES
  • Extremely versatile guitar amplifier with hand-selected 12AX7 valve
  • Authentic vintage amp design and classic guitar sound
  • Powerful 30-Watt, 8" vintage-tuned guitar speaker
  • 2-channel tube preamp and wide-range gain control for super-fat sounds with all pickup types
  • Dedicated 2-band EQ plus mid-shift button for creative sound shaping

  • Dedicated master level control and powerful headphone output

Bugera calls it "Neo-Vintage;" you'll call it incredible.

Gets a 9. You get a lot for your $108 with this amp. I bought it in the hope I would get a really good sound that could be miked in case I ever get to play a gig again. I don't need headphone hookup or CD hookup--I'll never use them. You get a nice sounding super portable amp for your bucks.
I only gave it a 7 due to: 1.no reverb, 2.no extension speaker hookup 3.no standby switch, 4. that's about it. Take out the headphone hookup and CD hookup features--I will never use these, and replace them with an extension speaker cab hookup, and that would do it.
Gave it an 8, as I haven't had it long. Seems solid.
A very good buy. Makes some very nice sounds. I have tried my Fender model 51, and my Gretch electromatic, and both get along well with this amp. I miss no extension speaker hookup, as it would be cool to get a 2x10 cab and be able to use this as a head in a small club setting.I really don't miss the no reverb.

I really loved the sound of this little amp but I cannot recommend it.Great vintage appearance and tones. Wonderful tube tones and it was perfect in size for practicing in the basement. It really excelled in Blues and Jazz tones but when played through my Digitech RP90 it would generate crunching metal tones and great Rockabilly, as well. It and would peel the paint off of the walls when cranked up but caveat emptor when considering this amp. If your looking to gig in a small venue get something else.
I gave a No Opinion because I didn't want to penalize it for being a "Plain Jane." It wasn't designed for someone wanting a wanting a lot of settings. I bought it with the intent of running my Digitech RP90 through it and it was perfect for this kind of set up.
Here is the "but" part in my review title. The amp died after 6 months and my subsequent research on Bugera and their parent company, Behringer revealed that this product lines have reliability issues. I even saw a comment on a blog from a GC employee who stated that Behringer/Bugera is their most returned product. Google "Bugera amp died" and you will find that these products, regardless of model have these issues. The amp appears to be a little tank but internally it has issues.
If this thing didn't have reliability problems I would give it a 5. It's only a little over 100 bucks but what good is the price when it dies after 6 months?

I have many small amps but this one looks the best and has more power then I would have expected. No effects but this makes a great clean sounding amp best for small or mid size rooms

Comments about Bugera BC15 15W 1x8 Vintage Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

The BC15 was received on time and well packaged. It appears to be well constructed and made of quality parts. The sound is very good and the amplifier is much louder than a similar sized 16-watt solid state amp that I own. The sound quality of the amp is also superior to the solid state amp. The other amp that I owned that was tube driven was an Ampeg JR-12 that didn't sound this good (probably due to age and condition), but it makes me want to find another tube combo because of the sweet sound produced. I'll probably look at the Bugera V5 in the future.

Comments about Bugera BC15 15W 1x8 Vintage Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I purchased the Bugera BC15 for recording. I am quite happy with it. It's loud, simple and has pretty good tone. I have to say that the best sounds I've gotten from this little amp came after I turned the treble and the bass nearly all the way up. I am happy with this amp.

I recorded the video attached to this review with my Bugera BC15 for fun.

Comments about Bugera BC15 15W 1x8 Vintage Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Purchased this to hold me over til I get more money together for a nicer amp, not so sure I need a nicer amp now, this is perfect for my needs, nice tone, add a booster overdrive to thicken it up and it's almost right. For the price, it delivers, plenty loud to enjoy practice and the speaker handles distortion nice. Would like a midrange knob to shape the tone, but like I said, for the price it's really nice. If you're concerned that it will sound like a toy, well, it doesn't, it has limitations but we can't all afford to buy expensive tube amps, and you can definitely tell that this is a tube amp.

I purchased this for recording and practicing. I wanted tube tone in a small affordable package. I found that the sound was a bit muddy, so I replaced the speaker with a Jensen CR8 and it cleaned it up quite a bit, but even before I did that, I recorded some guitar tracks in my home studio and with a little bit of tweaking they sounded great! Exactly what I've been looking for.

Comments about Bugera BC15 15W 1x8 Vintage Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I received my Bugera 15W 1x8 "vintage valve" amp this afternoon. Plugged in, warmed it up, and began jamming. Great sounds on clean channel. Kicked on the gain channel and rocked for a couple of hours. Zep, AC/DC, Blackmore, George Harrison, Joe Walsh, and other tones roll right out of this little gem. Little doesn't mean quiet or tinny, however. This 12AX7-powered groovebox rocks hard and loud. I plugged in my Panasonic 'phones into the jack and, while there is some hiss through them, it still produces the same great tones. No hiss or anything through the 8" speaker. I wish there was a Mid eq knob instead of the "shift" button for tweaking the sounds, but you can craft all the sounds you want as it is. Haven't used any of my pedals through it yet, but that's for tomorrow.

The creamy Tolex is a nice colour, set off by the brown leather handle and matching plastic corner protectors. The grille is, of course, vintage blackface. Behringer, which makes the Bugera amps, makes great value products, as I can attest with this amp and my Behringer Hellbabe Wah pedal.

I bought this gem in like-new condition which saved me from paying full list price. Great value for sure, and super-fast free shipping. I love dealing with Musician's Friend. Never have had an issue.

Comments about Bugera BC15 15W 1x8 Vintage Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a very small, very rugged, very retro, very loud 15w tube amp with an amazing 8" speaker (I should say, at first plug in, I was not impressed, but give that speaker some time to break in at lower volumes). It sounds so good alone, that I don't even need to put effects into it...just a little reverb.
