For me it's a love /hate relationship. I LOVE the simple features and sound for the price. I hate it as I have had continued problems. Once received the reverb tank did not work, the connections were not even soldered together. I had to take it apart and do the repair, although simple to fix it should not have shipped with this problem. Next, the pots/controls started to go out. The clean channel controls need to a bit of coaxing as the posts in the controls arent making great connection. So, at times I may not be able to control the gain/treble/bass. But, When I can get it to work after playing around with it...LOOK OUT! It does sound great, LOUD and clean, and the other channels great as well ( Rythym and lead) So, I love it, and hate it. It is under warranty and will get it fixed but a pain that I should have to take the time on a piece of equipment only 3 months old. So, quality control stinks, sounds is great, once I get it fixed I am sure it will be a Love Love "thang". So my quality rating is so-so, value is great if it works and sound is great. I use it with LP's, Strats, Tele's, Schecter 7 string, and even a few Ovation acoustics and all sound great. Just a small humm on the single coils but can be easily ajusted by turning gain/treble down with the volume down a bit on the axe. Then just turn up the volume on the amp and you still get a decent lead on single coils Pick ups. If it wasn't for the quality problems this would be a solid 9 all the way around. But, it is what it is...

As price goes this amp is pretty good, you get A 12" speaker, three channels, and a footswitch for about 200 bucks, you can't get anything else that good in that price range. However you get what you pay for. Mine has a warped speaker that rattles against itself. The sound is mediocre. The clean channel is so extremely bright that it stings. The rhythym channel has poor distortion and the solo is just sad. Obviously, because it is solid state, it has poor harmonics. You can't find any good amp for two-hundred dollars. If you care about sound go with something tube. Amps like the fender blues junior have good tube sound and are cheap, go with that.

Hmmm

By Grumpy-9zzGu

from Nowheresville,

This amp is great. It gets pretty loud, though the clean channel turns to muddy after about 6 or 7. Three channel operation is a neat feature also. The reverb knob on mine seems to be broken and it has since i bought it, or maybe it simply does nothing to the sound. No Headphone Jack??

Crate does it again!

By Rich Evans

from Central Florida

I have been playing the Crate GX65 for years now and decided to replace my existing amp with this model. I have to say, I'm impressed! I plugged the amp in and cranked it all the way up without an instrument plugged in and you wouldn't even know it was on. Once I plugged in I fell in love. It offered me enough tonal diversity to play everything from 50's bluegrass to modern metal. The amp is beautiful. Way to go Crate!!!

Its good

This amp is pretty great. With a distortion pedal you can really make this baby sing, and the reverb is awesome. I would recommend this amp to anyone who wants a practice amp or wants to use it for small gigs or church.

I bought this amp 2 months ago,and it has never let me down. It's well made, has a great tone to it,and just simply put, is the best amp out there for the money. This little beast is very loud, and will suit you for small gigs. This is a keeper.

Well priced powerhouse

By Boogeyman714

Upon purchasing this amp, I was rather skeptical, Prior to buying this amp, I had only minorly tested it, but hey, it was cheap...As soon As i got home, i went into my garage and broke this thing in extremely hard. It purrs like a cat, but then roars like a lion. I've been able to get all different kinds of sounds out of this amp. With fine tuning, you can get a near marshall, mesa boogie, fender, and roland sound. I've had this amp for 8 months now, and if it dies, i'm gonna get another one.

Very Awesome Amp.

I've had this thing for about 2 years, going on 3 now. Not once has this baby failed me. I've use it in a couple gigs, and it sounded sweet throught the whole thing. Many people complain about the distortion on this thing, but I think it's perfect for what it was meant for - an all-around distortion that could be used for a multitude of things. I highly reccommend that if you want your Metal "Crunch", you get a pedal, because the distortion wasnt focused to be just crunchy. I've gotten a sweet buzzy distortion out of the stock settings that fits my style nicely. And not to be left out, the reverb on this is very smooth. All in all, it has a decent construction, I've beat the heck out of it and it still sounds like it did when I first got it.Very much worth the money if you want an amp that isnt going to wear out your pocketbook.

Theres a reason they are soo cheap

By Stratsown5150

from Manahawkin, NJ

Ugh I bought this to use in the battle of the bands in my high school because I couldn't afford anything else. But in a about a month the amp started burping like literally belching after every note. It was muddy, I could get one sound out of it heavy staticy distortion, the clean sucked, and the sound was leaking everwhere because of the cheap cabinent housing the speaker. I wound up returning it and getting a Marshall MG30 its the most quality for your money.
