I don't usually write reviews, but this pedal really blew me away with the sound, build quality and features that it had for the money. This is my first tremolo pedal and I was looking for something cheap since I didn't think I was going to be using it so much. Low and behold, I'm addicted to the sound that this nifty little pedal creates. **There is a very slight volume boost when engaged but I do find this beneficial when playing with my band since I cut through the mix more** That being said, this pedal goes from subtle to hard-hitting tremolo breakup with a simple turn of a knob. Don't hesitate with buying this pedal because for the money, it doesn't get any better than this!
It features a speed, depth," and a knob which lets you choose a hard or soft waveform. It claims to be ""true bypass"" which I do believe it to be since I don't notice any tone suck. I'm running 8 other true bypass pedals with the exception of my Nova Repeater which has a nice buffer. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a flashing LED light nor is it tap-tempo", but that's just me asking for more than what I paid for.
Feels like a sturdy and heavy piece of die-cast metal that can be stepped on for years to come. The switch feels sturdy and reliable with a nice, loud click when pressed. The pots feel secure as well, not loose or flimsy.
I can't stress how much of a steal/bargain this pedal really is. Most people would be diswayed by the brand or price (not saying that Danelectro is a bad effects company), but looking up YouTube demos and reviews really solidified my choice in purchasing this pedal.

I had to return the pedal because of a faulty unit. In bypass mode it didn't pass a signal.

When the unit was on, the tone was great. But there are some design issues.

1) The pedal is bigger than it should be.

2) The knobs are difficult to reach. Possibly a plus if you only need one trem speed in a set, because you definitely wouldn't accidentally change the settings with your foot.

3) The switch is quite tough to activate.

4) The square wave has no depth.

Rehousing the unit would fix 1-3, but for my money, I'll go with the Joyo, and probably mod it a bit.

Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CT-1 Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

This has a metal enclosure, sturdy switch, and quality (MUCH better than the old plastic Dano I have). It sounds great and does everything that you expect a tremolo pedal to do - easy to dial in with the sound you want (anywhere from subtle to trippy). It's kinda ugly but that's okay.

Just a great product at a great price. Built to last. I have three products from the Cool Cat Series all from MF and this CT-1 is one of my very favorites. It does very well at what it's designed to do that being produce tremolo effect. Buy it you'll like it.

Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CT-1 Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is a decent pedal for what it does. A tremolo pedal.
I use this sparingly, but it gives me exactly what I need. The speed and rate options cover about anything you could want a trem to do, and its a bitter more solid than most Danalectro pedals I've seen. Never been a fan of their products, but this one is great. It has true bypass and isnt noisy at all. For the price, I dont think you can beat this one. Why pay 4 times as much for the same thing?

Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CT-1 Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

I'm a little nervous about buying a fourth Cool Cat Tremolo.
The speed and depth controls are perfect. The hard/soft control works, but I don't use the hard modulation.
Two out of the three pedals I have work perfectly. The third pedal pops loudly turning it on and off, and, an approximate 25% volume level drop. Thought it was the pedal train, but, no.
I love these pedals and use them way too much.

Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CT-1 Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

There is no better tremolo pedal out there for the money. The sound is perfect, sounds like an old Fender. Cheap. Built to last. I'll bet Danelectro sells a ton of these.
I don't like pedals with more three 3 or 4 knobs. This has everything you need and nothing you don't need in a trem. Very responsive controls, easy to dial in. I like that the in/out jacks are on the back rather than the sides - gives you a little extra space on your board or on the floor.
The Cool Cat Tremolo sounds better than my old Demeter Tremulator, which costs over 200 bucks, ditto for the Voodoo Labs tremolo, which I never warmed up to. The lush, thick sound quality matches any trem pedal out there, in my opinion. Has exactly the right amount of volume boost. I mostly use the 'soft' side rather than the 'hard' side but even the soft side has plenty of throb. Built like the proverbial tank, thick metal housing. Danelectro pedals look cheesy, all of them, IMO, but I don't mind when the unit is so sturdy and sounds go good.
Incredible value, sounds better than plenty of $200 trem pedals out there. This one will stay on my pedalboard forever.

Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CT-1 Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

I got this pedal to use for my 50s group to add a little flavor to the guitar players sound. I wanted to get a cheap pedal that would just give me a basic tremolo. I was blown away at how much sound I could get out of it....and for such a great price. With many cheap pedals, some of the nobs have no effect on the sound until you pass a certain point, but not the Cool Cat. Each nob produces different sounds...from 0 to 10. If you are looking for great tremolo pedal....stop your search here!

Comments about Danelectro Cool Cat Series CT-1 Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

Danelectro does it again! I was going to get the lower-end plastic model that Dano makes, but the Cool Cat is not much more expensive. Man am I ever glad I shelled out the few extra bucks. No volume boost (some people hate that, I don't mind), no buzz, no noise at all when it's on or off - thanks, true bypass! On most pedals, the extreme high and extreme low are pretty much useless, but I've found use for this pedal at every single setting. The "hard" wave is downright badass, really menacing if you add in some distortion. It's a well-built, solid unit with that familiar blinding LED that lets you know it's a Danelectro. An absolute must for old-school 50's and 60's rock/country. Throw in some reverb and you can't do wrong. I cannot say enough good things about this pedal! A great, inexpensive way to add some variety to your board.
