This 600ms delay is a dream came true for me;When I first started playing guitar I wanted a delay pedal but couldnt really afford one being everything decent was hiiigh hiiigghhh in price. Any of the cheaper delays sounded real bad. NOW Danelectro comes out with a 600ms delay pedal for 25 bucks? So yeah its 600ms (which can make tasty sounding lead style delays)and yeah its plastic housed but THE sound is there. The delays are not distored or pitched up or down, no noise when clicking on and off, controls are simple and to the point and has a small foot print for your pedal board. Cant ask for more can ya? I actually replaced my dd3 with this pedal and thinking about getting another to set as a slapback. Either way.. BUY IT!

I've been playing electric guitar 48 years. I have nice professional delays on my pedalboard but wanted a knock around delay I could sit on an amp without hooking up a pedalboard--since a delay and a good tube amp are my main sound. All I was wanting was a slap back delay that I found with the repeat set to lowest setting (1 repeat), time set=10:00 and Delay=2:00 perfect for my delay needs. As far as the sound the pedal seems to add a bit of treble to the signal--so in my opinion the pedal does color the signal in that way a bit. It does sound kind of digital or a little sterile. All and all I can live with that for my purposes--it sounds overall pretty good to me. I hate a dry amp and this provides the extra bounce I need.
The disappointment to me was when I hooked it up to my power supplys and got a loud humm. I get my power supplys from flea markets like for a dollar or 50 cents, rewire it for the negative center pin and positive outer and make sure I match the voltages and mA for each application. This has worked well with every pedal I've got except this one. I had to order the Dano DA-1 power supply because delays eat up batteries like crazy and batteries are very expensive these days. The DA-1 claims to be "hum free" so I haven't got it yet--so I hope it delivers hum free service. If I knew I was going to have to purchase a special power supply, I probably would have bought another pedal and spent the extra money on a higher end pedal. Since I discovered my mistake after the fact, I will live with it and mark it off as experiance.
With Delay, Time and repeat settings, 9V adapter jack, on/off light and switch you got all the features of just about every delay. The controls are responsive to provide just what it says in the 600 ms range.
Lets be honest, you can't provide a quality product for a very budget price. This is a platic housing and who knows how delicate the inputs, controls and switch is. Time will tell. I plan to handle this very delicatly and hope I get many years of use out of it. Last cheap Arion Delay I bought lasted about 3 years. I hope this one does a lot better.
I chose this delay because I was looking for the most features for the least bucks. After very much research on the net I decided on this one. After using it I can say it pretty much delivers what it says. There were a few suprises listed in the overall rating below.

I guess I was expecting too much, after all, you get what you pay for. I have a hard time believing all the positive reviews, as I thought no matter what setting combinations I tried, it sounded weak. I see now why musicians friend didn't allow me to return it.

Comments about Danelectro D-8 FAB Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
I picked this up because of the price and because I wanted a delay/echo type pedal but wasn't willing to pay $100 just to see if I want it to be a part of my guitar sound or if I need a hardware unit in the studio. This pedal has met or exceeded all my expectations. You can use it on pretty much anything. It's a good basic delay that does what you'd want from a simple inexpensive unit.

Comments about Danelectro D-8 FAB Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
I was iffy about buying it, but compared to everything else, the price made it easy. I watched review/demo videos online, but you'll never really know how it sounds until you try it on your own gear. I've had a Boss dd-6 delay pedal before, and this does what it does, but with a more limited range. You really can't go wrong with it...I havent had it long, so I couldn't tell you how the plastic casing has held up, but it seems solid despite that. I have it running through my twin reverb, has a nice analog/retro sound. Fairies Wear Boots sounds awesome with it.

Comments about Danelectro D-8 FAB Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
I was needing to replace some of my pedals due to age and malfunction. I saw the pedals available online and, to be honest, I didn't really expect them to be as good a quality as they turned out to be. I am very, very, very pleased! Great Job!
Comments about Danelectro D-8 FAB Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
i was really impressed with the sound(s) that i can get out of this pedal. ive heard of the danelectro pedals for along time but never gotten one. it is made of plasic but is really sturdy and has grip bottom. you can dial in alot on different sounds from this in seconds. would definitely recommend.
Comments about Danelectro D-8 FAB Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
this pedal is great... for the price, is sounds perfect, in fact, for any price, this thing sounds good... need an inexpensive pedal that does what it says it does, then buy this one....
I use it as a delay for my practice PA.... our guitarist has one for his gig... just good clean delay with no frills and no pain to the wallet
Comments about Danelectro D-8 FAB Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:
In short, if you want to get a good digital delay pedal without investing a whole lot, just buy it. No it's not a TC Nova Delay, but it's also not 350 dollars. For the money you can't beat it and I would definitely buy another one if it was lost/stolen.
You've got everything you need. 3 knobs to control your repeats, time, and delay strength. You don't need anything more than that and at this price you shouldn't expect more.
Again, for the price you get what you pay for. I have used this pedal everyday for the past 3 months and I have yet to have a problem with it. Yes it's made out of plastic, but it stands up to my abuse. I wouldn't feel to comfortable about touring with it, but it will hold up to normal, everyday playing and usage.
It's a great overall delay for 25 bucks. You can't beat it.
