I don't know what they did with this thing, but it doesn't sound clean like your regular octave pedals do. It's dirty, it's gritty, it has a midrange punch, and I simply love the way it sounds. I use it with my bass rig and when I want to solo or produce some funk I fire this sucker up with a wah or envelope filter and it really cuts through. Couple this with a distortion and you have something reminding me of DFA1979's tone. Worth every penny. Sure, the knobs fall off, but I don't adjust those anyway, I just leave it at one setting. You can use a phillips head or your pick to adjust them should the knobs come off. The jacks are questionable too, as they're soldered to pcboard. i never trust those.

Well like my titles says, the price reflects it well. It's nothing special. My buddy got one and took it to a jam. It did the job, he doesn't write any music, just does classic covers, so it did what he wants. But if you are like me and you want get more experimental and get a unique sound. This isn't your pedal. It also isn't that great for chords or anything too low, sounds like some one grinding sand paper over you ear... then again if you are experimental maybe you want that for some crazy stoner/doom/sludge metal.Another thing I didn't like about it is that it only goes octaves under, I like the ones that have octave up options too.But for the price it's not that big of a risk if you don't like it or use it enough.

Solo like a champ

By Reverb voice

Great pedal. the octaves are great and gives you a boost on the sound that makes it really punchy and solid. great for soloing and riffting. the only thing i did not like was that chords are not mnt to be play with this pedal. Other than that if you want a vintage sound for solos and cool cat iff buy it.

Amazing.

By ScooterMcDoodle

I bought this pedal because I like the idea of it and it was cheap. It can't exactly handle chords, it sounds like it has trouble picking out which notes to use, this causes it to switch around randomly in the notes which in my opinion makes a pretty awesomely weird sound. Anything above the 12th fret sounds incredible, if you're good you imitate a POG flawlessly. This pedal is not for a "typical rockin' dude" but if you're looking for an original sound this pedal is a STEAL

You'll Learn to Love It

By Strat7

I've had this pedal for several years and I finally feel I can give it a fair review. It took me awhile to learn it's nuances and it can be effective in certain situations in adding sustain and extra distortion to your signal. I have it placed second in my chain after my compression pedal. When added with a little vibrato, distortion and overdrive you can have that Hendrix vibe. As far as quality, yes the knobs are a bit cheap but so far so good in durability. I recommend it as a cheap effective pedal, however have patience. It'll be a learning process.

Phat and Full- Like too many chili dogs

By Matt Allen Man

This is a very good pedal for the price. I got it for my lead guitarist, and it really thickened up his solos. Excellent buy!

Fantastic pedal

By Moldypig

from where i am

I just got this pedal a few days ago and i love it. It sounds great by itself and even better with my mxr phase 90. the only drawback is the plastic housing but for this price you cant ask for a better octave pedal. I HIGHLY recommend this pedal to anyone looking to add a little extra thickness to their tone.

Tracks well and is transparent

By Zakk-39VDr

from Ashburn, VA

I've had this pedal for a couple years and it's been on and off my pedal board. It works as intended and is sturdy enough (I don't "stomp" my stomp boxes, I just engage the button like a human). Like any pedal, it has to be placed in the proper place in your effects chain to work optimally. It tracks very well when tweaked and thickens up a solo. It's otherwise limited, but works well for what it's intended - especially for the price.

I bought this a while back as a new toy to mess around with, I didn't expect much, but I was fooled. This is a great pedal!

Great metal/rock pedal!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I got this pedal on my birthday and I am amazed at the quality and tone it gives me at such a small price. It delivers the same sound as a pedal twice it's price. Just don't play chords and your fine. As far as endurance I have stomped on it countless times and it has not failed me yet. All I can say is get this pedal now!

Provides Lead Punch

Purchased this after hearing my bandmates boss octave pedal. After searching the net and reading a few reviews, chose the chili dog. It performs exactly like I had hoped. Lead runs are punched up with a clarity that bits through the mix. As for those who complain of a muddy tone, duh, don't play chords.
