I have played alot of preamp effects pedals and proccessors and I have to say this thing is good for the price. It took me a little while to dial in a tone that I liked but once I did I love it. One thing I found like on most of these types of units is the noise gate is not really that good but I was able to fix that With my Boss noise gate pedal. Construction is plastic but seems well built. The switches to switch channels are very good and seem built to last a good while. I have had mine now for a good 4 months and have had no issues. If your in a bind cash wise and need something thats not going to break your wallet then I would highly suggest this unit. Im actually thinking of getting another one for back up. I play extreme Brutal Death Metal and this unit has plenty of gain to it. You can really shape your sound with this unit and get a very good distortion tone from it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Remember, I have been playing for over 30 years and I am very picky about my distortion and im very impressed by this unit. I just use this pedal going into the clean channel of my head and into my 4x12 cab with my noise gate and thats it. Very Happy with this product!

I own a Delta Lab DGFX1 multi-effects pedal. I've used it to gig several times, with show-stopping difficulty, to record demos with and practice. I like the unit, but it has problems which a purchaser should know about firsthand. It's noisy when selecting overdrive or distortion, and the noise gate cuts out too much treble and midrange for my taste when used on keyboards, leaving a dull, muddy sound that has to be eq'ed brighter. the compressor works, but it's a single, harsh overkill setting with horrible tone for any application. the unit won't run on batteries- BIG fail!- and it not only lacks a stereo or dual input, but it only outputs in stereo- another big problem! I generally like the reverbs and delays, as well as the chorus and phase shiter, while i only like one of the wah sounds. Its memory falters with bad power, and it's inconvenient to have to reset every parameter and mode when this happens. I use decent line conditioning, and this problem nearly cost my band a steady engagement when my settings glitched into horrible-freak effects. If Delta Labs corrects these problems with a new, deluxe model, I'd consider buying one after checking out the pricey competition. if you can live with its faults, great. you'll probably want to save up and buy a better, pricier pedal!

Comments about DeltaLab DGFX1 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

As I said, I love the Deltalab line of products. Just because a pedal, amp, guitar or any other piece of equipment is more expensive, does not mean it is better. I tried the BOSS line and was rather disappointed. I want to say that it always comes down to PERSONAL PREFERENCE. The Blues tones I get out of this multi-effect are quite smooth. The metal distortion has an awesome mix of gain and clarity. The modulation effects are what I want as well. If I had to give a recommendation, I would recommend to try everything you can get your hands on in order to find the sounds that fit you.
The effects and sounds are great
The casing is plastic, but I always treat my gear well, and I have the 2 year warranty plan, so I am not too concerned.
The sounds and a very good drum machine make it a great value for any level player of any budget. One gets rather tired of hearing that more expensive gear is always better.

Good Sounds.... Did not hold up.

Comments about DeltaLab DGFX1 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Let me start by saying that I could have just gotten a bad one. The sounds were great and I really liked the amp modeling. Mine quit within a day or two and would just stop whenever I used the expression pedal. On the good side, Musician's Friend was great about it and let me return it with no hassles. I am going to get something else. The quality just did not seem to be enough for a gigging musician. The price was great and gave a lot of options for what you paid. Delta Labs has been around for a while and I really think this might have just been a bad unit.

Comments about DeltaLab DGFX1 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Highly reccomended. Even pros could find a use for this box. For beginners it is an exceptional tool for learning fx, and sparking creative urges.
For the price the number of possible sounds available here is phenomenal. For experienced musicians this could still be very handy for informal secessions, recording and as part of a travel kit.For live performance it might take time to master. If you are a weekend warrior or a professional the quality of tones may not be adequate. I could see using this live for a few select quality fx. I like the Jazz chorus, some delay sounds and some distortion options. The volume varies wildly from one effect to the next at times. Use cautiously, read the manual and be very careful using this thing with head phones.
Better than expected for the price. Looks solid but I have only had it a month, time will tell how durable it is.This is one of first effects boxes I have owned in 20 years, I have played mostly acoustic guitar or bass over the years. Electric is still a hobby for me. For bass this is ok but there is a seperate bass unit I might try in the future.
Best value I could find cosidering the # of sounds.

Comments about DeltaLab DGFX1 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

First off, people like what they like. A professional musician can make anything sound great. I purchased this unit a few days ago, and I couldn't be happier. Yes, I could've bought a more expensive unit, but I couldn't justify the cost. In my humble opinion, the dgfx1 is a quality unit for any price. I was in the market for an inexpensive reverb pedal and came across this, and on clearance to boot. It has everything. I'm not a metal-head, so I don't use the metal settings. I can get great SRV tones, as well as David Gilmour and Robert Cray. I can get wonderful tones on a budget. I would easily recommend this unit to anyone. I'm sorry for the choppy sentences, but I'm typing on my phone, and it's rather difficult.

    Get this pedal!

    By Delta Lab Lover

    from California

Comments about DeltaLab DGFX1 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I own digitech, boss, and line 6. After purchasing this delta lab, the others are being retired to my home studio. This pedal is unbelievable! I forgot how much a great tone can inspire your performance. As guitarists, we're always looking for that magic "tone". Well, look no further. The presets on this thing are ready to rock. At first I was skeptical about only having up and down patch selection abilities instead of the typical 4 patches per bank as some others provide, but after figuring out a good system, I prefer this feature simply because I don't have to hit two buttons to change banks. I simply line up my patches as follows: I assign a lead tone to the left of a clean tone, and assign a dirt tone to the right of the clean tone. I repeat this formula over and over again. That way, say I'm playing a clean rhythm tone while singing the song, and the solo comes up, I simply click the left button for a rippin' solo. Or say I'm playing a dirty tone while singing, I simply click the right button to get to a rippin' tone for a solo. When your'e performing live, it's crucial to hit the desired patch you need when needed. By using this method, I don't even really need to look at the thing, just simply click left or right. My eyes aren't what they used to be so this works great. This thing is so easy to program, although the manual isn't the most informative. Just play with it for a while and you'll be navigating in no time. I grabbed it on the stupid deal of the day, actually bought 2 and glad I did. My search for tone has ended! Do yourself a favor and get your hands on one of these.

Comments about DeltaLab DGFX1 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

First I would like to say that nothing beats individula pedals. I have 17 of them for my studio, and I'm not going to give them up. That being said, I was getting tired of hooking up pedals for songs that didn't require the best equipment. Having tried several other multi-effects pedals by Boss & Digitech, in my view this Delta Lab pedal beats the ones I've tried. The Boss ME-20 was twice the price of this one, but didn't have the ability to do what this one does. It has the best factory presets I have ever seen, and it is not difficul to learn. Again, it is now going to take the place of my Boss Metal Core or Delay, but it is good enough to use when you are in a hurry and don't have the time or need for individual stomp boxes. I'm not sure of the construction, but it seems pretty solid. It also has pre-set programs I've never heard before on any othe multi effects pedal. Well worth your money. Oh yes, I don't care for the drums on this one, but maybe I'm not using them correctly

    Not a good buy

    By Emily Huber

    from Cincinnatti, OH

Comments about DeltaLab DGFX1 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

This product lacks ease of use and overall quality. It takes much to long to change from a heavy distortion to a clean chorus. If you are intending to play a gig with this, it would be a huge mistake. I sent mine back after a couple days because I couldn't stand the sound of it. I then just bought individual pedals for the things I needed, and I have fallen in love with each one. It is a much more expensive route to take but it is worth it in the long run. It is much easier to look at the individual pedals indicator lights to see what's on. On the delta labs little screen, I have no idea what effects I'm running. Buy individual pedals!

    Great small pedal

Comments about DeltaLab DGFX1 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I made the switch from a Pod 2.0 with floorboard recently, choosing the DeltaLab for a space-saving and more versatile option. The entire unit fits in my gig-bag. The unit itself is quiet (features true bypass) and the global volume has a lot of headroom: it features increments of 1-100... I dial mine down to 20+/- for unity gain through a Vibrolux, for example. You will have to spend some time dialing in fx and levels, but once you do the unit is quite reliable. I have an Eleven rack for my main recording and large gigs, but the DeltaLab has served me very well on smaller gigs or jam sessions. The secret for higher gain sounds with this unit is to set up your clean tone on your amp first, check your levels, then start programming in levels and gain control. Try a variety of amps and stomp boxes, and dial back the gain so you don't wash out the sounds. This unit will give you what you want, but you have to learn your way around its quirks first. Definitely read the manual. A fine product overall.
