It's funny, Cherry Pop doesn't get as much coverage as Devi's other pedals, but as far as I'm concerned, it's my secret weapon. As far as fuzzes go, the Cherry Pop is incredibly flexible. The tone and control pots are extremely interactive, so you can get everything from brutal shearing fuzz to super-low subs with sizzle on top. I play bass, and this pedal shines equally on both bass and guitar. In just a few short months, it has become my go-to fuzz.
I latched onto fuzz as my main distortion sound awhile ago, so I've played Big Muffs, Fuzz Faces and a few others over the years. I found this when I was looking for something different and have really come to love it. It goes from a fairly smooth fuzz on lower control settings to extreme sharp buzzsaw sounds on higher ones. It can cut through the mix when you set it right, but like most fuzz's it's not a pedal for playing more than two notes at a time. It has a lot of volume, I've never needed to turn it up past about ten o'clock! It also has some hidden sounds in it. If you turn the tone knob all the way to the bass side (which is fully clockwise on this pedal) you'll cut out most of your high frequency but you'll get a ton of bass and octave doubling on your low notes. One other thing to note is that this pedal is very quiet even on high gain settings. Just mute the strings and silence. No hum or buzz! almost as if you had a noise gate. This pedal is also true bypass and doesn't eat batteries.
