DigiTech

A unique guitar pedal that generates harmonies based on your chord progression.

The DigiTech HM2 HarmonyMan features 4 different types of pitch shifting depending on which of the 42 different voices you select. Combine up to 2 distinct voices in any combination to accompany the input signal: a 3rd or 5th above or below, an octave up, 2 octaves below, 24 semitones and 4 detune variations. Simply play the songs you know and love, and when the spotlight cues your solo, hit the harmony footswitch to get amazing multipart guitar harmonies!

Following up on the success and rave reviews of their Vocalist products, DigiTech decided to make an effects pedal with the same cool features but specifically designed for guitarists. With exclusive musIQ technology DigiTech combined the lightning-fast, natural sounding harmony generation made famous by the Vocalist pedals, and made it meet the demands of professional guitarists everywhere.

SHIFTING MODES:

Digitech Harmony Man Pedal

Features:

This thing is fantastic.  It tracks string bends really well, while staying within the selected scale.  For example, if you select C Major and select up a 3rd for the harmony, and then strike a C note and then string bend two semitones to a D note, the harmony note goes from an E (a third above C) to an F (a third above D).  If you realize, this actually means you bend two semitones up and this thing is smart enough to bend up only one semitone if it is required to keep it in the selected scale - very impressive!  Of course, for string bends where this thing should bend up the same number of semitones as you bend, it does it correctly, and, it will bend up two semitones when you bend up only one semitone if that is what is required to keep the harmony note within the selected scale.  The way this thing handles string bends is AMAZING!  The Distortion Loop is also great because you can get the harmony note on the distorted sound without messing up the fantastac tracking.

sound quality isn't up to my expectation.  features are good, but they have little to no value to me with this level of sound quality.  I've been playing for just under 30 years.  I have used harmonizers in the past withgreat success.  but this one just doesn't hit it.

Got this as a Christmas gift and just had to write a review after seeing a negative one. I've been using this for a couple of weeks and just scratched the surface with it. Has an incredible amount of variation. The harmonies are absolutely awesome........does take a little know how and getting used to but the typical octave and third up or/and downs are my favs so far. The only thing I could write negative about it is using it with a jamman......it is supposed to change keys with your playing and it does, but if you track with a drum machine and use a choppy rhythm it can't keep up (which is why I gave it an 8)............that's ok just punch in the key manually and watch your original chord progression!!!!!!!

This WILL open up a whole new world....... a bit pricey but is worth it

I had been searching for something to add some effects to my solos and, beef up the sound of my solos and, this is it! I'm not knocking the Boss harmony pedals, used them and, they sound Great! but, if you are a musician that performs live on stage and, doesn't want to have to twiddle with knobs the Boss units don't cut it. On the other hand this unit sets your key quicky and easily with no knob twiddling and, the preset section lets you activate your sounds with the touch of your pedal, no knob turning or trying to set the key manualy. This is what sold me and, the quality of sound is superb. I will admit that you have to work with this unit but, it's not rocket science the resuts of your efforts will be worth it! The illuminated displays make it easy to see on stage and, Hey! in all the excitement I forgot to mention this baby has a built in tuner too! The price on this unit is higher than the Boss units but well worth it. Granted you will not use this effect on every song, that's just common sense but, for the one's that you do your dreams will come true. I have been a Musician for over 40 yrs. and, I Love this new stuff keep it coming!

Those who write that this unit will not do standard two or three part harmonies truly do not know what they're talking about.  Really?  Ask someone who owns one, not someone who has used one.  Like many units out there, the more time you spend working with it the more you get out of it. This thing is amazing.  Sometimes I use it for drop-D tunings and it tracks full chords brilliantly.  It can easily do octaves up and/or down, plus 3rds, 5ths, 7ths... you name it! The only thing I dislike is that it only has 4 memory presets.  Wish it had 10!  This unit also works well with other DT products.  I use this thing live all the time and it has never let me down one single time. Great unit!
