The stompbox you can change with your iPhone.

The iStomp works like traditional stompboxes. Step on the footswitch to turn the effect on and off. Adjust the knobs to dial in the sound. What makes the iStomp better than other stompboxes is that you can turn the iStomp into any pedal. Simply connect your iPhone to the iStomp and in about the same time it takes to download a song you can turn the iStomp in to any pedal from DigiTech’s Stomp Shop App. The iStomp comes with DigiTech’s Total Recall digital delay and Redline tube overdrive to get you started.

Features:

The iStomp's customizability makes it both perfect way to start your collection, while fitting onto even the most expansive of boards.

Quality:

The box seems compact and durable. The footswitch and encoders have a solid feel to them. The configurable color LED and custom labels are a nice touch. No noticeable noise issues.

Value:

Even if you never buy another effect beyond the first 3  What's not to like?

Overall:

So long as you're comfortable having a digital pedal in your loop, there's something here for everyone. The iStomp has potential.

Be careful - must buy effects seperately

This is NOT a multi-effects pedal.  You can only use one effect at a time.  You have to pay for them, and of course the better ones are aroud $10 each.  And it takes about 30 seconds to switch between effects so its not like you could switch in the middle of a performance.  For this price, why not just get a multi-effects processor?  Or buy a Line6 amp with built in effects?  You can get a dozen built in effects in some pedals already.  Can't use with a battery either and doesn't have a stereo headphone jack.  I don't get it.  I'm returning it 1 hour after buying it.

Listen with your Ears..

Features:

It's a simple stompbox, but I love the fact that I can use it as a supplement to my pedal board. I find that on occasion I need an octaver, or a particular overdrive and with this I don't have to buy an additional pedal. I can just download the model from my iPod touch and for that night, I have the extra flavor the gig calls for. I only have to buy it once and the models are inexpensive.

Quality:

This unit is built quite well. More importantly, I love what my ears are hearing. The models are very, very accurately done. I've owned, or have borrowed friends pedals from which some of the models are derrived, and I can say that DigiTech did an amazing job getting them to sound authentic. The dynamics really shined: the Redline overdrive, as well as the Glimmer and Rodent drives cleaned up when rolling off my volume, and they didn't color the sound of my guitar. I've played a couple of different guitars through this pedal, using several different models and they all let the natural characters of each guitar shine through. I'm very picky about what I put on my board, and I wouldn't hesitate to add this pedal. Most of my other pedals are from Fulltone, Xotic, Axxess Electronics, and HardWire, and this fits in nicely.

I would love to have the option of downloading some of the more quircky pedals DigiTech has produced in the past, such as the Gonkulator, or some of the stranger modulation effects that the Space Station was capable of.

Value:

You buy one box and for a little more, each, you can have several different effects to choose from and download them in between sets from your phone. That's a great value.

Overall:

I think this pedal sounds fantastic, and it's built as well as anything else I've used. The configurable LED is pretty cool as well. I know many guitarists are hung up on the true-bypass issue, and I am as well to an extent. BUT, the very first thing on my board is a BS-2 buffer/spliiter, from Axxess Electronics, which converts my signal to low impedance, and from that point on, there is no signal loss, extra noise, or any other audible issues. I can run true bypass and buffered devices w/o any problems. It's all in how you set up your pedal board.

This pedal sounds amazing

Features:

Firstly, yes, only one model can occupy at a time, but the modeling is so good, it's amazing. I have owned or borrowed most of the models I've downloaded and these sound like the real thing. The dynamics are very nice, which is where many modeled effects fall short. Another plus was that when trying different guitars through it, the transparency was terrific. It allowed the natural tone of each guitar to come through. The models are quite inexpensive, and I like the idea of using this for the more obscure effects which I would use on occasion, but don't wish to invest in the actual pedals. I can buy one pedal, purchase the models, keep them stored on my iPhone and download them to the pedal as I need them.

Quality:

The iStomp seems to be designed and built very well. The sound quality is very, very good. This would be a nice addition to my board, which contains many 'boutique' units.

Value:

I quite like the fact that the iStomp is relatively inexpensive and that the models are all fairly priced as well. It's definitely a great bang for the buck. I'm absolutely going to purchase one, so I can quit bothering my friend for his.

Overall:

This a cool pedal. I would love to see DigiTech make available some of their more unusual effects, such as the "Gonkulator", and perhaps some updated versions of the other weird modulation effects like the ones found in the old Space Station.

First of it's kind

Features:

I can put whatever pedal I want into it, handy for playing different gigs!  I'm going to get 5 of these so I can load whatever I need for the next gig.

Quality:

Solid feel, rugged chassis, nice sleek look. Compact for pedal boards. It's actually smaller than most stomp pedals, but not too small.

Value:

For the price of this pedal, I'd be stuck with one single pedal, not multiple options.

Overall:

Easy to use interface, quick download. Intuitive operating instructions, simple, clean and neat.
