This is a great m-e pedal. It is a small design without the expression pedal that the RP255 has, other than that, the features are almost the same. The big downside to the pedal is because it is a small footprint it lacks the knobs, dials and display that other units have. Takes a bit to set up/program your favorite tones. But, once you read through the manual (and this is a good idea to do) it will serve you well. At the one hundred dollar price point this is one of the better units out there. Does it sound awesome in every category? Duh, of course not. But.. if you are anything but a pro, it sounds pretty darn good. Using the software on the computer makes it easier. For me, getting the Lexicon Reverbs with this model over a unit with an expression pedal and no Lex Reverbs was a better investment in this price range.

I purchased this in November and at that time I would have written and awesome review for it. Within a month I tried using it live and it failed miserably. Every fourth or fifth time I select a preset with reverb the unit will screech loudly like mic feedback. Also I liked the idea of having the distortion effects to add in a preset but the distortion effects won't turn off when I change presets. For example, if I select preset that had the tube screamer selected and then change to a clean patch the patch wil change but leaves the tube screamer still going. After changing a few patches in a row it will combine the sound of 3 or 4 distortions. I am now in the long process of returning it. Be sure you buy the gold coverage if you try this.

    Very Pleased

    By Matt Rogers

    from STL

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Overall i love this pedal. I got it for Christmas just this past year, and im quite pleased with it. I love all the effects you can add to it. One problem for me though is the fact that switching between effects, the volume tends to change. Just seems to be an annoyance to me having to change the volume almost everytime. Other than that, i highly recommend this product. Very helpful for my guitar and even my bass playing.
Love all the different things you can do to different effects. Very helpful. and i love the headphone plug in. Really helps when you get the urge to play late at night.
Great quality. Sounds good through amps. I own a Peavey amp and normally it sounds terrible, but with the pedal it all comes out more clear for me.

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I've been a musician for 32 years and been using Digitech for 15 of them, they just keep putting out beter & better gear. The RP155 is an awesome piece of equipment that compliments any style and structure you're looking for. After 12 years of use with the RP80, I upgraded and didn't need to spend a bunch of $$$ for what I was looking for. This little package does it all, simply plug in and hone in those tones, lotta room for much creativity - after the first hour of use, I was able to design a couple of sounds I really got off on. Quite user friendly and a major bang for your buck. You won't be disappointed.

    Decent Pedal For great price!

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I have been using this pedal for about a year and have found great benefit in it. It has a very nice 20 second loop feature in it. The only down side is you cannot use a loop along with the pre-made drum tracks. This pedal also has an online feature of which I have yet to use but I hear it is quite decent! This pedal has boosted my creation skills in the past few years. It comes with some very good presets that can be changed. They all have many different tweakable settings. It also has multiple effects within it. I suggest this to anyone beginner to semi-advanced guitarist who is looking for a good multi effects pedal that is durable and has good sound quality.
Very good Price for all the possibilities!

    Dont be fooled

    By Cerebral Static

    from Royersford PA

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Dont be fooled by the all the good ratings,The Effects on this unit are really nice. The distortion tones are not so good. I bought it just for my practice amp and for using the u.s.b to track ideas i had. As far as live goes, i was only using it for the chorus effect and that was it. Its built real well, and for the price you can not argue with it as long as its for practicing in an apartment or on a small amp that does not have a foot switch for going from clean to dirty. But if you are looking for something serious, save your money and look at the higher dollar processors.

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I've used a lot of amp simulators over the years and this one has the best tone for high gain IMO, even better than the PODXT! It sounds incredible going into the front of an amp's clean channel, but works well going into the effect return also. I'm only using it for recording, so I'm only interested in tone, not effects. I've played a lot of Marshalls over the years and this box can capture that tone well in a studio environment, where you can go through a small amp at low volume ( even a digital amp ) and still get an authentic tone without the problems of an expensive, high volume amp.

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I've had this thing for a week or two now and absolutely love it. I got it mainly for recording. It gets the job done. I use Audacity and I just connect to the pc with using the usb port and it comes right up on the screen. The FX are quite good also. But it's also great for playing live! It has a stereo out so I run it to two separate tube amps set on clean channels and it sounds fantastic. Surprisingly, the drum machine is also pretty cool too. I really can't think of anything negative to say about this thing except that it doesn't have an on/off switch, but it's not that big of a deal. You need to buy this!!!!!

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

This is a wonderful pedal. I bought it mainly for practice, since it has the headphone jack I can practice quietly at night without waking my baby twins. The wife really appreciates that. I should have bought one of these a long time ago. Plus I save the life of my tubes on my tube amp. With the USB jack I can play through my computer speakers along with youtube videos. The 20 second looper is good for laying down some chords to practice soloing over. For live use, I have found that it works well through my effects loop for adding delay, reverb and chorus. I always use my amps gain live, not the pedals. I didn't like the sound of it straight from my guitar to the amp, because the preamp can act as a filter. So if you use it with an amp, I recommend running it through the effects loop. am very happy with this pedal and have definitely got my moneys worth. I purchased this over the RP355, because I didn't care for the expression pedal. I just bought a really good wah pedal separately instead. I love this pedal.

      Digitech RP155

      By Anonymous

      from Undisclosed

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Overall I am very pleased with the Digitech RP155. I bought it for use when practicing. I don't use it on my main rig, and I often use headphones with it. Which was my intention when I bought it.Things I like: Drum machines are cooler than a metronome when practicing scales and chord changes. The sounds are awesome, Digitech knows what they're doing. (I still use a Digitech GNX4 on my main rig.) I didn't think much of the 20 sec. looper when I bought it, but I have ended up using it when practicing. I'll throw on a couple quick chords and practice switching between modes.Things that I don't like: There's no power switch? You have to unplug it to turn it on and off... that's getting old. That's one corner I would have paid Digitech $5 NOT to cut.A minor issue with the drum machine... it only displays its tempo in 2 digits, but it goes up to (I think) 250 bpm. It would have been nice for Digitech to put a chart in the owners manual listing the equivalent tempos. You can time them yourself with a clock (boring), or do as I did, set the RP155 to metronome and use another metronome and sync them to find out what tempo the drum machine is at. I did that for the most common tempos I use and made my own list that I put in my practice notebook.General comments: The plastic chassis is extremely durable, I don't think twice about it holding up, but I don't abuse my equipment either. As a long time Digitech GNX4 user, I'm familiar with their matrix system for editing effects. I find this unit easy to edit and use. The USB connection and the X-Edit software is awesome too. It gives you a full feature editing display on your computer. I think the tuner on here is much nicer than the tuner on the older GNX4 (The GNX4 tuner drove me nuts.) Although I'd still prefer to use an external tuner rather than switch off my effects. But if you don't want to shell out money on an additional tuner, I think this tuner is excellent. This unit is capable of handling a number of live applications. But the 2 button footswitching will have its limitations if you want to have many effect presets and change frequently during songs.

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

After reading reviews on this multi effects pedal, I made myself a try. It took me some time to read, understand, and apply what was written on the manual. The presets are fine and after hours of tweaking, I came up with some of my set up and felt satisfied with it. This is built like a tank!!! It was accidentally dropped several times during gigs and still works fine! My only comment is it has no ON and OFF switch plus you need to place it in a convenient position to adjust the volume control (if you don't have the volume pedal). Also when tweaking your tones, make sure you adjust the volume well so it is the same with the other tones you set up previously. And yes, I love the looper included! Wish it could have lasted say, 30 - 60 seconds longer. Overall, it was a good buy worth the money!

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I did the review below 5 days ago, and I still rate this "DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal" 5 out of 5 stars. The only thing it lacks compared to more expensive models is more ins/outs (like aux in, xlr outs) and a control pedal, and a few more presets/drum beats the upgraded models offer. If you aren't going to be using a wah/whammy/volume pedal get this now!I am keeping it for backup for live gigs, and buying the next upgrade up as well (The Digitech RP255, which includes a control pedal), I like it so much. You can get a control pedal for this for about the same price, btw, from Behringer, and I will probably do so, but you are probably better off getting the RP255 if that's all you need - research the product line, they are all an incredible value for the price.I just completed the return process on a "Line 6 Studio GX Pod Farm USB audio interface" with Musician's Friend because the RP155 absolutely blew it out of the water as an audio interface. With the RP155 unit there was no lag recording via USB, and the hardware and software are very easy to use, and everything included with it actually WORKS. Not so with the Line 6 product.I also have to compliment Musician's Friend for their fabulous customer service. I have been ordering from them for years and will continue to do so. Best company there is in my opinion.

Comments about DigiTech RP155 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Excellent unit but apparently not the best choice for my needs. After calling Digitech support they informed me for me I should have just got a stand alone reverb unit such as the RV 7 stereo Reverb Pedal or the DigiVerb Digital Reverb pedal, for my Steel Guitar. I will use very few of the units options, without some knowledgeable people on the Steel Forum I would have used even less. Unless you are a very experienced in Amps and digital effects do your research there may be a simpler and better choice to fill your needs. The USB option does make the unit much easier to use. If the manual gave more that just the name of the Amps and other functions it would increase the value of the unit to the average user. The manual is great if you are a sound engineer but leave a lot to be desired for the novice to intermediate user.
