I just recieved this the other day and, all I can say is WOW! Everything about this unit is superb. Right out of the box and, into your amp instant playing, the factory presets are done very well and, if you want to tweak them you have just as many user presets to do anything that your heart desires but the really cool thing is that you cannot make a mistake because the factory presets will always be there. The Xedit feature that will let you go to your PC and, make changes to the programs is super easy and, fast, plus you can hear the changes instantly! I am not a knob twiddler because when on stage I want instant results with the touch of a foot pedal and, this unit will do just that. Make your changes at home and set up your programs before you take this to the gig and, just enjoy. I also love the fact that you can name your user made presets and assign them to any user number that you want. The stompbox feature is an added plus in that you can add or remove effects to any preset that you have selected. There are so many features built into this unit that at first it appears to be mind boggling but all you have to do is look at the manual and, just work with this finely made unit and, it just becomes a breeze. I have tried other single pedals and, multi effects pedals and, this one is so far ahead of the rest that there really is not any one out there that compares feature wise,sound,and, quality. I also have a Digitech Harmony Man that I feel equally good about but, when I was going through presets not only was there a harmony and, an octave preset but also a whammy preset, Unbelieveable! I have just realized that I could on and on about this unit, so just get this thing and enjoy! you'll love it!
Built like a tank and, looks very professional.
For the features that are in this unit it is a steal!

I have owned this pedal for about two years now. It is a pretty awsome pedal for the effects you can get out of it and it does have alot of great amps and presets on it. My biggest thing here is that these are ojnly imitations of something so much greater. I mean sure you can use this to try and get the god like crunch like you can get out of a marshall but after using this pedal and then plugging straight into a Marshall or a fender frontman i think it would be safer to go with those. I mean you can come close but it takes hours of tedious knob turning and i can never get it to sound right at gigs. Im only keeping it for the effects. Oh and after i got a crybaby i quit using the expression pedal because there is just such an obvious difference. Get the real deal. Dont waste Money here. Good maybe for some people but im a blues man and this just cant cut it

I've used almost every device in the Digitech RP series over the last 10 years. First things first: this device models amplifiers. For best results, don't plug the output from this box into a guitar amp, which is like running the output from one guitar amp into another; use a keyboard amp, a powered PA speaker, or a PA. You want an amp that will take the RP's output and make it louder, period, NOT an amp that will add its own color on top of whatever the RP is doing. The advantage of this approach is that you can take the RP anywhere, plug it into a PA, and get EXACTLY the sound you expect. For players who travel on airplanes, this is as close to perfection as you will find.
In general, the RP355 sounds terrific. Its modulation FX (especially the pitch shifter and whammy), delays, and reverbs are best in class at this price point. I wish it were possible to use more than one modulation effect at a time (for example, pitch shifter + chorus or rotary speaker), and I also wish the FX could be re-ordered in the chain (as can be done on the Zoom G3, for example), but that's about all I miss. What's here produces powerful, complex tones that stand out in a mix and onstage. I haven't carried an amp or a pedal board to a gig in years; I just bring the RP, plug it into the PA, and get to work. And let me tell you, the sound techs on my gigs just LOVE this box. It makes their job very, very easy.
The ideal way to use this device in performance is to set up the tones you plan to use, song by song, side-by-side in the user presets section. It takes time to complete this setup, but when you're done you have a setup that can make enormous changes in your sound instantly with one footpress--something that a chain of single-purpose pedals could never do. If you use a looper in your performances, setting up your tones in this way makes it easy to build huge loops with complementary sounds.
There's a lot of great gear out there, and I would never claim that this device is the only way to get a great sound onstage and in studio. But the RP355 offers terrific value for money, sounds great, and works reliably. The delays, reverbs, and pitch FX alone would cost 3-4x the price of this device if purchased separately. Most musicians will find that the RP355 is a very economical tool that instantly adds a lot of power to any rig.

I have had several Digitech pedals, this one being the most advanced.It actually seems easier to navigate than some of the older ones. All the presets are pretty good the looper is awesome. So far it seems to be really good. Also thanks to Musicians Friend who matched another sites sale price no questions asked and shipped it out free. All in all i would for sure reccomend this pedal and Musicians Friend.

There is alot of effects in this pedal. I went through alot of different sounds when I 1st got it and love the versatility of it. Gonna take some time to get used to it, since it's my 1st effects pedal. I been an acustic guitarist and finally broke down and got a Gibson SG. Gonna have alot of fun with this and recommend it to everyone. Great product!

I bought this for my 14 yr old son for his birthday. He has been playing since he was 7 and just loves this pedal. I even like to get on it when he's not playing, it's just a fun piece of gear. I won't rehash the details on it's performance that have already been well documented in the previous reviews, I bought this unit based on those reviews, so thanks to all who took the time to write one.
I would also like to give 5 stars to MF customer service. One of the foot switches locked down on the first pedal we received and we could not get it to come up. I got on the phone looking for some advice,instead within 10 min I received a return label, sent it off, and in 10 days had a new pedal.
Cool pedal. Excellent Service. Go ahead... enjoy!

I like it, it's solid and sounds good. I like the USB programing feature, it is eaiser than turning the knobs on the pedal itself. The pedals are a little close together for me it seems easy to hit two at the same time which puts you in a different mode, instead of changing the effect. I like it, and the sound and that's what counts.
