Incredibly powerful audio processing and practice tools.

The DigiTech RP90 is a guitar multi effects pedal powered by DigiTech's AudioDNA2 DSP processor. The RP90 includes detailed models of boutique stompboxes, amps, cabinets and effects. The RP90 pedal's tone and effect libraries allow quickly and easily give you any sound you want. The RP90 is like having a music store at your disposal. From hot-rodded rock and roll to metal, the DigiTech RP90 has everything you need to get the tones you want or need. To top it all off, the chorus and DigiTech Whammy effects can be re-arranged to go before the amp model or after—whichever you desire.

The DigiTech RP90 modeling pedal features a 1/4" guitar input along with separate left and right 1/4" output jacks. Connect to either an amplifier or mixer for direct recording with a press of the Amp/Mixer switch that engages the internal speaker cabinets. Rounding off the outputs is a separate, stereo 1/8" headphone jack for practice. To control the Wah and Whammy, use the Digitech RP90's built in pedal.

Because music isn't just about getting tones but writing songs, the DigiTech RP90 multi effects pedal also features 40, high-quality drum patterns to aid music creation and practice. Feeling sterile and need inspiration? Just turn on one of the RP90 pedal's drum patterns and see where it takes you.

You should not listen to those bad reviews. I understand if those people had a defect in their pedal but if not then they must have done something wrong. First off there is an instruction booklet which will tell you how to get certain effects it takes time and those with the bad reviews had no patience. its an aazing pedal if you know how to use it, you can save 100's! I got effects from bands like audioslave and rage against the machine that sounded dead on! There are amazing clean tones and awesome heavy metal tones as well. all it takes is time and understanding to make this baby work. trust me it is worth the buy DON BE FOOLED BY BAD REVIEWS! remember patience is key if you have none dont buy it

Has some drawbacks

| Review By: Dmitry Kiryukhin | 2 months, 1 week ago

Features:

The device has many built in features, more than you will explore before buying a more expensive unit  Pedal is fun to play with too. However, the device is lacking Line In, so you can't play along with your favourite songs or backing tracks. This device is a practice unit, and you can't play with backing tracks quietly - no go for me. I got the device as a gift and sold the problem buying an external mixer.

Quality:

The device is well built, except of foot switches which break up after a year of using.

Value:

Without Line In and with faulty foot switches I wouldn't buy it myself. The sound coming out of the device is good, though, you won't be disappointed.

Overall:

Again, as I said above, it's a good piece of gear, but has a couple of major drawbacks.

Features:

I found the features to be quite outstanding, took a bit of tweaking and getting used to but Im you could find that in most pedals

Quality:

Seems a decent quality based on durability, its not too flimsy of a shell.  And Im not going to chucking it down a mountain so Im sure itll be fine.

Value:

Really great for the price, I picked it up around the holiday season and got it for a great price.

Overall:

It was just overall a great pedal, why spend a lot on others when you could get all you need right here for agreat price   Im very impressed with this.

Features:

This is the pedal that meets all my needs!  I couldn't wait to try it out.  I own one of the first RP 50 pedals, but this one is all i will ever need for making my kind of music.  All metal housing, and built to last!

Quality:

Like I said, this thing is built to last.  I plan on using this for a very long time.

Value:

For the money, this is a very good deal.

Overall:

Overall this pedal is one that will give you very good service for a very long time at a price that won't break the bank.

you get what you pay for.

Features:

This box is very limited in features.

in order of programing.

volume: first off is the preset level. it is very hard to zero in a good level seeing as if you add any effect it is going to affect the volume in a way you wouldnt expect (tremelo turns the volume way down for some reason and so does auto wah)

pickup/ wah: very unrealistic sounding. very fake. The pickup effect allows you to make a single coil sound like a humbucker an vise versa. But it is very unconvincing. The wah is not terrible but it could be much better.

compressor: fine, does exatly what it is supposed to do

Amp/ Distortion: There are no actual distortion stompbox effects but rather amp simulators with amounts of distortion from 1 to 9. I have had this for almost to year and have still yet to find a quality sounding distortion. I always leave the amp simulator off and use my amps distortion instead.

equalizer: once again. not much that can go wrong here. works fine

noise gate: big problem here, all of the presets have this set to 3 and it pisses me off. the master level (bottom right round button) if set to low makes it so that the presets are hard to hear. and its annoying as hell to try and go through all the effects and change the prest level (big volume issue)

long story short the noise gate often cuts off my sound to much. rather then killing the buzz it kills the whole note. if i set it lower then 3 then the buzz gets bad.

chorus/ fx: exatly what it says it does. you can have one mod effect. THATS IT! very annoying when you try to play a song that needs a auto wah and a phaser or a chorus and a flange. i found it especialy diffuclut to edit the effects becuase you cant control the parameters like a real stompbox (this whole box works with levels of 1 through 9, but you can only control the one parameter. for example in tremello, you can control the speed of the trem. thats it. no depth no eq, just speed. and seeing as you only get speed 1, 2, 3 etc. up to 9 a lot of trem speed is missed. VERY FRUSTRATING)  thankfuly the delay is a different thing, so is the reverb.

delay: best part of the unit. greats sounds. I use the rp90 for mostly delay as it have very convincing delays. has two parameters unlike the rest of effects (speed and feedback)

love them!

reverb: ehhhh. i use my amps reverb cause it sounds better.

expression: very pleased. you can control most things with the exp. pedal i use it for delay volume a lot becuase you cant set the delay volume individualy.

DRUMS

Pattern: very strange only a few normal usefull patches. most are wierd ones that a real drummer would never play.

Tempo: DUH

Level: DOUBLE DUH

The presets are edited by using the edit up and down buttons. up moves clock wise from preset level to expression. down goes the other way. when you reach something you want to edit you use the value buttons to change from 1 through 9. very simple. when you get it the way you want you click store then get it to the patch where you want it (50 patches can be edited)

then click it again.

tone library scrolls you through the various amp models, effect library scrolls you trhough the effects.

Quality:

broke on me after a year of giging. its not meant to be used for a long time. its a plastic box with little up and downfoot switches and malfunctioned on me after a short period. i had to take it apart and fix it. turns out all that the up and down switches do are hit tiny little buttons on a computer chip. cuase the led to change # and the preset to change.

you get what you pay for . for a hundered dollars dont expect something great.

Value:

for someone who cant afford anything else this is awesome. great for little kids messing around in their bedroom. but when you start gigging with da big boys dont expect this to hold up to thier 250 dollar 1 effect pedals.

Overall:

personaly i enjoyed this while it lasted. a year and a half of ok tone and moderetly good effects. but i got a nice tube amp and im saving up for a line 6 pod hd 500.

if you think this is going to be a veritille piece of kit that is going to last you years and years think again. get it for your kid with his first Strat and it will be cool. but if you are looking for something that can deal out the goods then your going to have to deal out the $$$$$$
