Great automatic wah sounds of a classic envelope filter!
The DOD FX25 Envelope Filter Pedal -- a reincarnation of DOD's original envelope filter -- goes a step further, adding a blend control for great response from both guitar and bass. Added touch-sensitive wah-wah expression. 2 other controls adjust the DOD FX25's sensitivity and range thresholds.
- Blend control
- Sensitivity control
How are you going to push the outside of the envelope if you don't HAVE an envelope? Put the thing in the cart.

I bought one of these for use in a live bass rig, but also used it a lot in a guitar pedal board. As far as getting a good autowah sound at a good price, this pedal is awesome. I was plenty happy with the quality of the autowah tone. However, there was one drawback to the pedal that just drove me crazy. If you engage this pedal, be prepared for a substantial drop in apparent volume. This is a big problem with a lot of autowah pedals really. However, the DOD is the worst I've seen. For my live rig, I had to put a boost pedal immediately after it and engage both at the same time. I finally got sick of this work-around, and sold the pedal. The Digitech autowahs (they make a bass version and a guitar version but both are excellent) is a much better option. Of course, the Digitech versions also cost more money.
One day I was listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers bass lines and I was fascinated with the effect Flea was using. Somebody told me that Flea was using a DOD Envelope Filter and with any doubt I bought it. The best part was the price and the effective results of the pedal. Amazing buy!!!!!
This pedal is easy to set up and use, and it sounds great. However, there is such a HUGE volume drop (close to 70%)that I really can't use it live. I've tried every configuration, power source, etc. I don't use it for every song, so I almost have to do 2 sound checks. 1 without it and another with it so the sound man knows how much he needs to crank up the mixer. I wouldn't recomend it.
This is a fantastic pedal. Great tone and response. Put all the settings on high and the thing snarls. I actually run an Epiphone mm-30 acoustic/electric mandolin through this sometimes and it sounds like nothing i've ever heard. Versitile and reliable. My only real problem with it is my tendancy to overuse the thing because I love it so much. Would recomend this pedal to anyone, pro or hobbyist. One quick tip to all those who fear the dreaded "battery cover" issue : Don't use batteries. They are a waste of time and money. Get yourself a Onespot and enjoy the dod fx25 worry free!
Being that I play bass, I don't have much use for pedals. But when I played this one in the store, I knew that I had to have it. I liked the original DOD envelope filter and i love this one. It gets the funkiest sound that I've ever heard from a pedal. On the right setting it almost makes an underwater effect. I keep it at practice because I can always fit that funk into songs. Great buy!
hi im 16 and am a big korn fan.this pedal is perfect for korn stuff. I own a Washburn WG587 7string guitar its the best guitar ever or so far but its great. And I play alot of korn on it and I wanted to play the songs like Kunt or justin or others like that and this pedal is perfet for korn songs like that buys this while you can!!!!!!
Wow what a great pedal. This is the best pedal if you are trying to get that funky underwater sound. I think it is a great pedal for funk, rock, and Jazz or whatever you want to play.
I use this pedal on bass. Sure, it cuts bottom. Sure, it cuts volume. Sure there's that rush of bass frequencies. But it's one of the funkiest filters around, trust me, I've owned them all. And at a mere forty dollars (30 apparently when not in stock) this is probably the least expensive pedal you can buy that doesn't stink!
This is a very cool pedal. Will give you very short and pronounced filter sounds-with a huge swoosh. I played this pedal and compared it to a Q-TRon: It Gives a more commpressed filter, shorter sustain, and gigantic swoosh. I like this pedal just as much as my Q! I also played this pedal with a bass, and found it better than any other filter that I know of for bass-Slaps sound really cool with it's swoosh-and the short sustain works well for slaps too. The only problem with this pedal a is volume drop. This is a great pedal, not just because of the price, but because of its great sounds!
I picked this stomp box when I saw Flea using it, and I am thrilled with the tone that this beast puts onto my bass. Very funky, and very clean.
