Comments about Dunlop DVP1 Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought the pedal after trying my friend's DVP-1 and I love it. It is heavy and really tough built yet feels very smooth to use the pedal. You can adjust the torque which is also very useful and it has a output jack for a tuner which is also handy. Compared to the famous Ernie Ball VP, this pedals has a more smooth and better looks and is more sturdier than it. Best volume pedal you'll ever find for its price anywhere!

Comments about Dunlop DVP1 Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

To start off this is the best volume pedal I have ever used. It is very easy to operate, it is very smooth feeling when engaging the pedal, and as far as I can tell it has not sucked any of my tone. I use this pedal a lot for ambient volume swells, and it works flawlessly. I really like how you can adjust the tension of the pedal. The only complaint I have about the pedal is the size of the pedal. It is quite large and if you have a small pedal board it will not fit on your board. This pedal is built like a tank and is no cheap piece of junk. This thing is bullet proof! The price is a little high for me, but if it broke I would buy another one.

Comments about Dunlop DVP1 Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

Makes life easier when it comes to volume control.
Researched dozens of volumes pedals from Ernie Ball to Morley, and this one stuck out to me.

I see now why it had such positive reviews.

So far, I am very satisfied. And it seemed to "clean" up my channel, as well as obviously giving me much more controlled control of my overall volume.

Does what it says, what else can you ask for?

Perfect! My Boss Volume pedal was dying and I needed a new one. After reading reviews and pricing I went with the Dunlop. Sound quality and feel are much better than the Boss I used to have. Should have bought this years ago. Very smooth pedal and I love the tension/torque adjustment.

Comments about Dunlop DVP1 Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

Yeah, it's a large pedal, but that isn't an issue for me. The main thing is this passive volume pedal has a more linear taper, unlike some others I've tried. This one gives you the complete volume range. It lets you do volume swells and delayed string attacks for emulating other instruments (see the video for an example of a simulated french horn sound using nothing but a Les Paul and this pedal).

Comments about Dunlop DVP1 Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

Got this to replace a combo volume-wah pedal, to keep from kicking on the wah (or accidentally cutting it off). Really a fantastic pedal. It's solid, looks great, and has a very smooth action.

The only drawbacks are that it takes up quite a bit of room on the pedalboard, but you could always just run it off to the side if you couldn't upgrade your board size.

Also, although review after review talk about the transparency of the sound, and not coloring your tone (to which I would agree), I did notice a slight tone suck when placed in the front of my chain. It slightly cut some of the sparkle out of my compressed sound, but when it was moved in the chain to come after the compressor and OCD Fulltone, the loss seemed to be negated.

One last thing about the size. If you use Pedaltrain pedalboards, it will fit inside the aluminum travel case, but it is very snug. I have some concern that it may be pressing down on the aluminum rack rails, and will eventually bend them or damage the weld.

Even with those problems, compared to all the other volume pedals out there, I still would go with the Dunlop DVP1.

Comments about Dunlop DVP1 Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is a great pedal, well built, it looks solid and feels solid, very translucent, smooth with a lot of movement range. The line out for the tuner is also a nice feature. I would have given it a 5 star but they made it about 10% too large. I had to do some cutting and trimming to get it to fit in my case and it's bulky to tow around. For the money, it's still well worth it.

Comments about Dunlop DVP1 Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

Before this volume pedal, I had been using an Ernie Ball VP from the late 70s/early 80s—one of the pedals utilizing a yarn-and-pulley system. The sound was crackly and the response was decent. I play in a metal band with a Sabbath/Pantera sound so I don't much mind a little line noise in general; anyway, I had been playing a gig and the pedal's yarn snapped midnote, locking it permanently on—which is typically how those pedals break after years and years of use.

Needing a replacement, I did my research on a volume pedal and this one caught my attention immediately. It's thinner than my old one, but about 3x heavier, so it stays in place better on my effects board. I've heard from other reviews that the tuner-out will create tone suckage, but I haven't heard it with mine (I use a Planet Waves CT04 Chromatic Tuner). I have yet to adjust the response because it's stock settings are exactly what I was looking for—colorful swells, quick adjustments, and sturdily built.
